It's so strange how everyone's glucose testing is different. With my last pregnancy I got to take it home and had zero instructions on what/what not to eat. They asked me what flavor I wanted and I told them lemon lime (I'm typically a sprite/7up fan) and the nurse was like...no, you should take fruit punch lol. It wasn't bad.
I guess ours used to do it but found out women weren't drinking the whole thing in hopes of cheating the test. Now the lab lady watches you like a hawk to make sure you down the whole thing.
I went to the vet this morning with questions about our elderly dog. Basically, we've reach the time to make the most awful decision any pet owner has to make: have her doped up 24/7 or put her down. To make matters worse, my parents want to just have her medicated. Technically, they're the ones taking care of her right now but is that really the best thing for her? Keeping her alive for the sake of keeping her alive? The doctor thinks the best thing to do would be to put her down. I know deep down it's the right thing to do. This sucks

@feeislove I'm so sorry you have to make that decision. I hope you guys can all agree on whatever is best for your dog. I pregnant cry anytime I think of having to live without my dog...who is 1 and a half.
@feeislove I'm so sorry. We have a senior as well and this inevitable decision is something I try really hard not to think about. My thoughts are with you.
@feeislove I'm so sorry. That's so hard. I honestly think my mom kept our family dog around too long because she couldn't let go. Sometimes it is better.
@feeislove I'm so sorry. I think my ILs are getting to this point with their dog too, she's apparently starting to go blind. This is the third one they'll have had to put down since DH and I have been together and it sucks. And I'm not even a dog person, but the thought of having to make the decision is stomach turning
Oh @feeislove I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I wish we could keep them around forever, but sometimes it is best to let them cross that bridge and be at peace. I'm sorry your parents aren't on the same page. This just hurts to think about. Big hugs

My BF is that I'm 99% sure the girl at Starbucks didn't put soy in my drink and used regular milk. No bueno for someone who can't have milk. My stomach is killing me!
Let my irritation level soar. Against my request, dh brought the ILs dog over since they're gone for two nights. I can't even stand our own dog, let alone when theirs is here. She whines all.the.time and the two make each other bark over nothing. Plus then I have to deal with stopping my hog of a dog from eating the other ones food, keep mine out of the wrong crate and theirs is allowed on couches, but I don't let animals on my couch, so that's fun too. My anxiety with dogs is so through the roof I can't handle it.
Oh and she's going to be here for 5 days next week too. Give me some Xanax and wake me up on the 20th.
@feeislove it hasn't been as bad as last time, thankfully, but I'm still irritated. I swear I loved animals so much and then I had kids and its like, come on, I have kids following me and whining about food and spilling on my carpet, furniture and blankets. I can't handle dogs anymore. I come home and they both start howling and whining (they're weiner dogs, so they're yappy) and I've got kids whining and yelling at me, it's too much.
My dog won't stay out of the other ones crate and their dog has anxiety. So I have to keep dragging mine out so their dog can at least have comfort in her own bed and blanket. Ugh.
I realized in the Starbucks drive-through that I forgot my wallet. I was halfway to work. Had to turn around and go home and get it because otherwise I wouldn't be able to eat today. Arrived at work an hour late.
Couldn't get anything for breakfast because I was running so late, so no food + the extra drive time = I'm so nauseous I want to die.
I forgot my water bottle in the car and I can't go get it for another 3 hours. I'm going to have a splitting headache on top of the nausea.
I hate this day so much.

@migdala this is late to the party, but I keep one app on my phone that has a credit card number saved, like Panera - that way, when I do forget my wallet (last pregnancy it was a regular occurrence), I can still order food at lunch without having to drive the 30+ minutes back home. If I got pulled over by the police, my plan was to just plead preggo brain.

Dear everyone who is tall and looking for clothes - this is probably going to apply for mostly after baby, but my SIL is 6'1 and found this place in Bethesda, MD that carries amazing clothes for legit tall girls. She said the selection is better in-store, but you can buy some stuff online:
Good luck @bluejeanbabi05. My OB wants me to take the test around 26 weeks. Personally, I'm not looking forward to the fasting that's required before the test. I like to eat. It's one of my favorite things.
Maybe double check the fasting part? I have one scheduled in a few weeks, and was instructed to not fast, but have a light breakfast with protein and low carb before going. Apparently fasting can cause the blood sugar to spike, from the explanation I got. Good luck!

Oh I totally checked. Took the test last Friday. They only wanted me to fast for four hours prior to the test, but could still have water. I basically rolled out of bed and went to the lab when they opened at 6:30am.
