My Walmart was putting up a bunch of Gerber brand stuff on clearance while I was there. I got 4 onesies for $5 but since I don't know boy or girl yet I got 4 of each and just hope that fiance's best friend has the opposite of us. I wanted to buy more more more but we're pretty broke right now. Be careful with Gerber brand too FTMs because they tend to run small!
@BayCamp I would be really annoyed if DH let DD2 up that late. Luckily he understands her need for a schedule. I get more frustrated because DH often schedules his time at home doing things he wants to do in the garage and usually isn't helping with cooking dinner, clean up, bedtime routines or toy cleaning up and by this time every day I am totally exhausted. DD2 is staying up until 10:30 all week because we're in a different time zone and I'm trying to keep her schedule the same... and just thinking about her being up so late kills me even though it's technically her normal time.
@BayCamp My son would be miserable if he was up until 10pm. Also, real talk, if DH is playing softball where is DS? That's what would get the hard pass for me. I'd ask DH to find a league that fit both of our schedules.
A good friend of mine's husband also plays in the same league so she keeps him occupied during his Thursday games. On Fridays it's always a sitter.
We had had a long talk about it tonight, his Friday league is over in 2 weeks and he's not rejoining. I can handle the one night a week. Honestly, a lot of it is pure jealousy that he gets to go be a person and not just a parent on a regular basis and I don't get the same opportunity. So that's something we're both going to work on. I know I need to be more assertive and just tell him "I'm going to ____ and DS is staying here" because if I wait for him to just offer or volunteer I'll wait forever.
Got to my son's daycare and his class is all lined up in their bathing suits for water day and of course I forgot. Luckily his teacher is awesome and helped me improvise quickly. She said, it's ok, you're pregnant. I'm going to have to pur reminders in my phone because aparently they do it every Friday through the summer.
Thank you everyone for understanding yesterday. I don't like to complain about DH because he really is amazing. I was just having a rough one yesterday. Y'all are great for making me not feel crazy!!
On another note, I got one of those giant inflatable core strength balls to sit on since my hips already hurt. DS is "helping" me blow it up with that tiny pump that comes with it. So maybe it might be inflated by 3rd trimester lol but blowing air up his own nose with the pump and pretending to inflate all his toy balls is keeping him occupied, so I'm just going with it. I keep asking for it and he says it's not my turn yet.
Anyone want to tell him he's not going to get very far like that?
@ArtificialRed my old one had long ago become a yard toy for the kids. It was definitely time for a new one. Although now I think I've already lost this one to the toddler again.
Can't remember where I'd posted about it, but update: my DH's travel changed, so I rescheduled my AS from 19 weeks to 20 weeks. I'm stubborn and didn't want them to win, but I would have had to go alone at 19 now, so I guess it works out for everyone. HOW DO I WAIT UNTIL JULY 3!?
So we are going hiking this weekend and I am super nervous about bug spray. My OB office told me deet based sprays are fine--I got a low concentration one (7%) but I'm still obsessing over it. The "natural" one I found had essential oils that aren't recommended for pregnancy or even children under 3, so I didn't get it. Anyone else used bug spray/can ease my mind about it?
DH just helped me clean the whole house and then took the kid with him to run an errand so I've got a good 90 minutes solo. I now feel like a big fat jerk for bitching about him yesterday. But honestly all the help might have come from my mini-meltdown yesterday so I think it might be a wash.
@BayCamp I'm glad you got some alone time! I think sometimes they just need a reminder that "hey I'm a person with interests outside of this house." Hopefully it's the start of some more solo time for you.

Same. DH doesn't think about my time and space unless I specifically mention it. Once I do, he's usually happy to accommodate.
DS asked me last night if baby Charlotte was going to come out of my mouth when she is born. I think he's seen me throw up too many times during this pregnancy. I told him no and pointed to the general area where she will come out. His eyes got wide and his mouth fell open and he said, "I don't believe you!"
Also DH and I decided being as baby is able to hear now we are going to read out load every night, anyone else reading or playing music for LO?
@BayCamp honestly that's like half of how I get DH back on track with chores is mini meltdowns, he will do really good for a bit and then slack, especially now that he has extras.
I had pound cake yesterday with tea and it was delicious!
@KLink15 I don't play music specifically for the baby, but I commute an hour to work 5 days a week and play music for a good portion of my day in my classroom. The funniest thing was when Destiny's Child "Bootylicious" came on in the car and LO kicked me just as the part "I don't think you're ready for this jelly" came on. It seems to kick most when I'm sitting in the car. I used the Doppler today and it moved most when DH was talking (although I couldn't feel it and just heard it on the Doppler).
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I had a pretty long list of baby names that I thought were cute/unique in my notes section of my phone. SO found them and deleted them all and wrote "Earl Emmet" and drew an angry face. It was hilarious but I'm furious at the same time. It took me 13ish weeks to compile that list!

I would be pissed! Though I guess that any you loved would still be in your head. But still, not cool.
DS just fell victim to the dreaded car nap. The rest of my day is a crap shoot now. Demon child? Angel baby? 30 minute nap? 2 hours? Who knows?? So I'm sitting in the Target parking lot eating Arby's and playing the waiting game.

@DuchessOfCambridge thanks for clearing that up
*I didn't look at the actual study behind this, just read the article*

I'd rather use bug spray than contact Zika. Just don't injest it and you and baby will be just fine.
ugh. Car naps are the worssssttt. 90% of he time I get a kid who napped for 30 minutes and then is a butthole the rest of the day.
