Sorry for the long story.
Went to the hospital at 6:15 am Thursday and got Einstein bagels before checking in at 6:30 for my induction. After getting checked in and settled I started Cytotec at 7:30. Within a half hour I started having contractions but couldn't feel them. I ended up getting 6 doses of cytotec every 4 hours. As time went on the contractions got stronger and closer together. Started to get frustrated as I wasn't making much progress. Decided to sleep for a bit while the contractions weren't too strong but woke up at 2am with really bad contractions and I thought I peed myself but ended up being that my water had broke. Was worried about being stuck in bed so asked for pain meds instead of epi right away. So they gave me stadyl which didn't help the contraction pain but made me feel like I had way too much to drink and very out of it. An hour later the contractions were unbearable so I asked for an epi and luckily got one right away and it was way less painful than I expected. Once I had that I felt awesome. Finally slept and got my last dose of cytotec. At 7:30 I was checked and finally made progress to 4cm and 80% so I was started on pitocin. From then I started progressing pretty fast. Had bloody show and at 2pm I started pushing. I pushed in multiple positions and after 2 hours she wasn't making much progress so Dr gave me the option to try for another hour or have a C. I decided to push for another hour and if she doesn't come I would know I gave it my all. Pushed for an hour and hardly any change so opted for a C section but this time I was just exhausted. Once the surgery was started I thought it would be a different feeling but the cramping was really bad. She came out at 5:59pm weighing 8# 10 ounces 20.5 inches long. My uterus wasn't contracting back down so it took awhile and more drugs to get it to contract. I was shaking so bad and was in a lot of pain so I didn't hold her very long as I had to concentrate on what was going on with myself. Eventually got stitched up and rolled to recovery. Was A really neat experience as quite a few ppl in the OR had worked with my H they were all really nice and sweet. I'm glad I tried to Labor and push for as long as I did but may possibly decide against it next time as recovery has been extremely difficult.
