I'm with many of you on the nausea!! It was bad weeks 6-8ish, and kind of went away. Now at 12 weeks, I've been throwing up everyday- twice today. Really hoping for some relief from this and the fatigue. I am grateful I haven't really had headaches yet. Sounds terrible!
I really want to reply to all you ladies... but I am so effing tired and I just finished bawling because I'm pretty sure my milk is gone and I won't make it to my goal of BFing DS until 2 years. I'm super sad. And I'm tearing up writing this...
Gross but ear wax has seemed to be extra all of the sudden. Is that even a pregnancy thing? I have never noticed it like this before.
Also I started getting slight soreness below my hip bones yesterday. My friends have told me they all started feeling ligament stretching around this time and that my description fits. Hmm.
Me: 31 DH: 32 DH since 12.2009 Married 08.2013 EDD 12.2017
Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that so many of you ladies are still struggling with nausea and bad headaches. FX that the second trimester (approaching so soon!) feels much better.
@NME44 With you on the laziness. I have never wanted to curl up on the couch so frequently!
@thatlauragirl How are you feeling? Hoping that the bleeding subsided and that everything is okay.
@whiska The low pain/stretching has me freaked out too. Honestly over the last few days I've struggled to differentiate if I'm having gastro issues or if I have cramps, too. FWIW, I've done my fair share of googling and the stretching sensation seems to be pretty common at this point and many of my coworkers told me to expect issues with #2, so my bet is that we're both fine, as long as the pain isn't severe.
As for me, not much in the way of symptoms here (unless you count tight pants, lol) but I had a minor surgical procedure last week for my kidney that required me to be anesthetized, and I've been a nervous wreck ever since. I was well aware that there would be some risk to baby prior to the procedure, but (**TW) when the anesthesiologist came to council me beforehand he said, "Any time a pregnant woman undergoes anesthesia, there's a GOOD CHANCE of spontaneous abortion." I lost it. I asked what a "good chance" meant statistically and he said about 7% and he then asked if I was comfortable with that before signing a bunch of paperwork. No, I'm not comfortable with the risk honestly, but the procedure wasn't elective and both baby and I require functioning kidneys, so here I am, just worrying. The kicker? When the nurse came in after the paperwork and I was still crying, she told me that I needed to be concerned with my own health, that it's still very early, and that there can be other babies. (I realize she was trying to be helpful, but it really made the whole thing feel worse). **End TW
On the bright side, I'll get to see the baby on Thursday for the NT scan, so hopefully I'll feel some relief then, and I've felt pretty good since I left the hospital. The downside? This procedure will need to be repeated every 10 weeks until after baby is born so the worry really won't end. :-(
Ugh, thanks for reading my rant/novel. Ben and Jerry's if you got through all of that.

@CandyApple2012 I am so sorry! I hope Thursday comes quickly and you get to see a healthy baby moving around like crazy! Nurses are super great but yikes...that one needs to brush up on her bedside manner. I'm sorry she said that to you.
@CandyApple2012 OMG i cant believe they said that to you. i wish you the best of luck with your kidney results. also yay you get your scan quickly and see baby
@CandyApple2012 I can't believe how they handled that situation! I'm so sorry! I had to have an MRI at 36 weeks pregnant with DS and they had about a million people come warn me of the risks, make it sound super scary, and make me sign a bunch of releases. It was like, okay, I get it! I'm not doing this just for fun; this is certainly not how I want to spend my afternoon!!
@CandyApple2012, omg I'm so ragey for you right now. That nurse was completely inappropriate and I would report her if I were you. I definitely would have had some unkind words for her in the moment, too.
Thanks for sharing @CandyApple2012 - I'm glad I'm not the only one getting this painful stretching right now. I'm so sorry you have to go through these procedures during your pregnancy; it would make anyone a nervous wreck so I can't blame you for worrying or having some anxiety. Fx for a great scan Thursday!

I really appreciate the kind words and support from you guys. I just wish my kidneys worked properly on their own and we didn't have to deal with the added stress... but then again I'm grateful for medical intervention and know my situation could be much worse. Thursday really can't come soon enough, but until then I'm going to try to be optimistic because stress is really bad for babies and now I'm worrying about worrying (Lord help me, I've never needed a glass of wine so much in my life!)

Has anyone had experience with this? My DH and I were just fooling around (no penetration but there was an orgasm) sorry tmi. Well I went to the bathroom about 30 minutes later and there was a lot of maroon/brown bleeding. I called the doc and spoke with the doc on call and she said "it could be normal" and suggested not to go to the ER because there isn't much they can do. She said to go to the office tomorrow morning for a sono. So until then I'm just worrying and praying. Help!!!
@vhill74 I'm under the impression that that's normal. Brown blood is ok, and can be normal after orgasm - as long as it's not a ton and not bright red. I totally understand being nervous, but I really don't think it's anything serious. Definitely go in tomorrow and get a sono for peace of mind
I've been super MIA because of my move, but I'm reading everything and sending everyone all the love with these crappy symptoms. Sorry I can't interact a little more just yet. I did want to say though that your experience has me horrified and I'm so sorry you have to do this every 10 weeks, @CandyApple2012. You're one tough mother and FX someone else is on duty next time around.
@CandyApple2012 you are a super strong woman! I'm sorry for your experience with this and I wish you the best on Thursday!!!
@vhill74 my OB just this week brought up that spotting after sex is normal. Always of course consult your physician with any concerns, but may be normal.
@CandyApple2012 Wishing you all the best on Thursday and sending positive thoughts your way! Also, your name always makes me want a caramel apple even though it says candy. Lol!
@breezybee & @Mandayno, thank you! I just got finished with the doc and everything is ok. I know spotting is normal after fooling around but the amount of blood really stressed me out.
I got back from the weekend away in Florida and I feel like I've been hit by a bus... I was fairly fatigued in the first couple of weeks, which then subsided but now after a weekend of (sober) fun and air travel I am wiped out completely..... DH wants to plan a babymoon around 28 weeks to Hawaii and I'm not sure how I'll handle it. I guess the last couple of weeks of 1st Tri are still fair game for symptoms.
Entering week 13/second tri and feeling the burn -- heartburn that is. I'm taking 2 Tums when it's really bad, but otherwise just trying to burp it up and drink a lot of water. I get heartburn even when I'm not pregnant, so at least it's not totally foreign to me.
Headaches, and the feeling like I'm never full. I went from not wanting to eat anything to wanting to eat it all. Meat and eggs are back into my diet, except for chicken -- gross no thanks. Still some very minor gagging at weird/gross smells, and some little cramps here and there. Energy level back up significantly.

@abcola That fatigue sounds about right! This Saturday I had some extra energy (probably also lightened from our good scan Friday) so I went to 5 stores, did some grocery shopping, then shopping for a big party I'm throwing next weekend, worked on a craft project for the party, then H and I test drove some cars and then came home and made dinner. Sunday I slept in til 9, still had bags under my eyes, napped from 12-4, then crashed at 10. So Saturday totally wore me out and I bet your weekend of fun and travel did too! Just take it easy today if you can and make sure to drink tons and tons of water.
@peachy13 Last week I feel like I had a headache every day, and two of them were really bad! I'm also pretty hungry - had like 3 big slices of watermelon and 5 brownies yesterday at a cookout and they went down like nothin! My energy levels (as described above) are just hills and valleys right now...

************* STUCK IN BOX Water is really easy to reflux, so it can actually make heartburn worse. If it's bad, you may want to try drinking something else (like milk). The calcium in Tums is also good for baby, so pop those Tums if you need them!

Hey everyone. Sending wishes for less and less symptoms soon for all.
I'm at 12 weeks, 3 days today. As of a few days ago, the nausea finally really does seem to have subsided. In it's place, almost at the same time, heartburn has started. I'm taking 2 tums, and avoiding the foods I know may aggravate me, and just got one of those wedge pillows to prop myself up more tonight. I'm hopeful that will help.
I have allergies (cats- and we have 2, dust, and seasonal), but it's been odd the first 12 weeks I had basically NO allergy symptoms, at a time of year when usually I would have them.
Literally right when the nausea subsided, it was like a switch went off and instantly my allergies became so horrible and intense. I have headaches as well, but not sure if they're just allergy and congestion related. I am also still exhausted.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm with you all on the heartburn. I was on Prevacid with DS it was so bad and I see this headed the same way. 13.5 weeks and *fingers crossed* the vomiting and fatigue are non-existent.
@collectiveliving My allergies were awful with DS. It was 9 months with what felt like a constant cold/congestion. A humidifier and saline rinse were my best friends.
@acgonzalez22@peachy13 Yes - what is up with chicken?! I can eat it certain ways at home (like breaded...how healthy) but something about the smell and the texture is NOT working for the little guy and I.
Exhaustion. Yes. I haven't had to take a sleeping pill in a couple of weeks. Normally I have to take one most nights.
Stuffy nose every morning when I wake up, and my allergies are the worst they've ever been.
Headaches. Goodness gracious. Tylenol does absolutely nothing for me, and I had to take an Ambien one night when a headache turned into my first migraine. I eventually gave in and tried the essential oil skin stick my company sells, and it WORKED. I used it at the onset of two different headaches, and they just went away! I am still awestruck.
Pregnancy brain. It's seriously difficult to function right now, and it's making me angry.
All you ladies taking two Tums are giving me serious envy. If I don't take Zantac 150 twice a day, I'm waking up puking acid at night. Ugh. I think I'll have to start taking Prilosec as well.
