@greenhillgirl I'm actually waiting right now to get my iui done. I'm just nervous that I've already ovulated. Fx that I can get my RE to check because unfortunately it not normal protocol for my doc office.
@rel_1987 - Hope your IUI went well and you didn't already ovulate!
@greenhillgirl - I can only get my meds at the pharmacy if I don't use my insurance. I'm in the same boat as you having to mail order them through fedex if I want insurance coverage although the company does let me waive the signature so that's nice. That stinks you can't do that! How was your appointment this morning?
AFM - I had my HSG today, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was a little more uncomfortable than my SHG was but I think that's because of the balloon they blow up in your uterus. I didn't even feel the dye because I think it hurt less than the balloon. My tubes are clear so yay! I have an ultrasound Friday to see if I have any follicles growing.

@rel_1987 Good luck. How do they make sure that you haven't ovulated already and what makes you worried you might have already? Do they do it the day after or 2 days after your shot? I bet it will be fine and hopefully you have a good shot!
@dmo1371 I'm so glad the HSG wasn't that bad. I didn't want to say, but mine was terribly painful- especially afterwards. I'm such a sensitive baby though, and lots of people say theirs wasn't that bad so I figured you'd be average and not a huge baby like me That's exciting you have an ultrasound Friday. What will your next steps after that be? Yay for progress.
I had my monitoring appointment this morning and had 2 large follicles on my right side so they did the trigger shot. The shot wasn't bad. I'm kind of tired and bloaty but I also got up at an hour and a half earlier than usual so that explains the tiredness. Tomorrow morning we will do the procedure. I'm looking forward to it but also don't want to get my hopes up too much. I'm trying to take a longer view since we currently just have mild MFI and hope that if I could stick it out for around 3 of them that we might get a good result. If we can't get insurance to pay for the next one then I will go on his insurance so that it can cover 75% of the IVF costs rather than pay $1,000 or so out of pocket for the IUI. I don't mean to be negative, just realistic. Maybe it won't even come to that.
How do you ladies handle the IUI 2WW? I imagine it will drag on even longer than a natural one. Sigh...
They have never checked at all. I just had some pain early Saturday afternoon around my right ovary which is the side the follicle was on. They did look at my cervix today and it was open so I guess thats a good thing. I wish they did check. @greenhillgirl the tww is always torturous for me. I try to stay busy with work and even spending time with my family. But of course sypmtom checking is always right there on my mind...
@greenhillgirl - I'm sure you're not a baby! I took motrin and tylenol an hour before so I'm sure that helped. The MD doing it also seemed to do a loooot of HSGs so that makes a difference too I'm sure. We'll do an IUI this cycle, and after that I'm really not sure what we'll do if we're not pregnant. I feel like I need to talk to my RE and see if he thinks we should move on to IVF after 3 or 4 IUIs (I don't think he'd recommend more than 4 since he's said after 3-4 your odds of success are really low).
Yay for 2 follicles! I'm a little jealous so many of you get more than 1 (I've always only had 1). Good luck with your IUI tomorrow! The TWW sucks. I always do ok the first 3-4 days and then time just draaaaaags. It's so hard not to get your hopes up, so I'm no help with that. FX this is your cycle!

Well this cycle officially starts for me. Start my meds tomorrow and u/s on the 13th. Most likely trigger that night and IUI on the 15th.
As as for the dreaded TWW I just try to keep busy. This last one wasn't bad. We were out of town for Memorial Day so that made it go quicker. I was on spring break for my first one so it went by sooooo slow. This time it will be my first two weeks of summer vacation and I have nothing planned. I already set up going back into work to get some projects done. I know I would go crazy if I was just at home for those two weeks.
@dmo1371 I didn't realize having 2 follicles was exciting. Thanks for pointing out I have something to be positive about. Keep us posted on your next steps. Congratulations on the start of his cycle @J1006 !
We just got home from the procedure. My husband always hates giving the sample - he really struggles with it and feels paranoid and humiliated. Poor guy. We went and killed some time then I had the procedure. It was quick and easy. The doctor said we have a decent chance cause I have the 2 eggs and a thick lining and am 31 but his sample had a pretty low count. His first SA was 2 million second was 58 million this was 6 million but his motility had gone up to 40% so the post wash was better she said.
Fingers crossed. I hope I can keep myself busy enough to not go crazy symptom spotting. Thursday I have acupuncture and Friday yoga so I hope that helps.
Glad it went well @greenhillgirl! FX for you! I think 2 follicles is the perfect number. I know everyone is different and more increases your chances but I've taken care of way too many triplets (and a handful of quads and even a set of quints) in the NICU that were the result of fertility meds + IUI/IVF so I'd be scared to do an IUI with more than 2. Hopefully you can stay busy and your TWW flies by!

@Funnygirl34 hope for better E 2 numbers. My first round of clomid I had such low numbers and then they added injections., the Gonal-f and on CD 9 I had 7 follicle and my E2 was 1,111. Don't get discouraged. Sending you positive vibes for Friday! The RE just has to find the perfect fit of drug doses for your body.
@Greenhillgirl Congrats on your IUI! Question: does your insurance require you to use a mail order pharmacy? I ask because I think you're in NYC like me? If so, I can give you the name of a brick and mortar pharmacy that specializes in infertility drugs. It's the one my RE's office recommends. Of course I hope you don't need it! Also remind me, is your H working with a urologist? I ask this because mine also has MFI, and we ended up taking a break from IUIs in the winter to increase his count with clomid. Not that it's actually resulted in pregnancy yet. Anyway, just throwing it out there in case you want to put off IVF, as we've been trying to do. Good luck with this cycle!
My GYN told me to take OTC pain meds about 1 hours prior. It was no more "painful" or uncomfortable than an annual female exam. Took 25 minutes- had to move in a few odd positions and hold odd angles for a few minutes at a time. Not painful at all. I found the IUI to be more painful.
Thanks @Bababatty yes I am in NYC and I have to use freedom mail order. I think it will be easier next time because I can just get it sent to work and put it in he work fridge til I get home. This was a one off and super annoying!
@rel_1987 yes I've been having som pain like that too and am 2dpiui as well as weird abdominal twinges and blowing. I think since it takes a week or longer for the trigger shot to get out of your system this weird stuff might be normal.
I hope everyone is doing well! I just had acupuncture and am trying to take care of myself during the 2WW.
Also @Bababatty yes he had a urologist who specializes in male infertility- a great guy we've been working with for 2 years. Unfortunately because DH's body is already trying to correct the issue itself a drug like clomid wouldn't help him. Too bad there's not an easy fix.
Trust me. I'm starving and my stomach is making crazy noises 24/7. I'm also gassy and DH doesn't believe hormones make women gassy no matter how many articles I send him so he just thinks I'm a disgusting farter. @rel_1987.
I had my CD 12 monitoring appointment this morning and my lining was a little under 6mm. I had TWO 15mm follicles (first time I've ever had more than one). I'm waiting for someone to call me back to tell me a plan. Last cycle I had one 15mm follicle and they had me trigger 2 days later and IUI 3 days later. Would you ask for another ultrasound before triggering to make sure the follicles and lining have grown? I'm more worried about my lining than anything I think. I just want to be 100% sure we're doing everything we can to give us the best chance this month since it may be our last IUI.

@dmo1371 i would ask for another US to check. Last cycle mine was below 6 and my re made me come back to check to see if it thickened. I Google how to thicken it apparently advacado and leafy green so for a month I ate advacado and spinach with every meal. It must have worked my lining was 9 this time before I triggered.
@rel_1987 - I took estrogen supplements with my first IUI due to a lining of 7.8mm. I've also taken progesterone suppositories both times. The first time it was a compounded suppository, but I have a reaction to whatever fillers they use. The nurse gave me a 12 day sample of endometrin last cycle and that was fine, but my insurance doesn't cover it and I just called walgreens and they said it was over $400 for a months supply. Not sure we can really afford that this month (I've been getting cancelled at work and we had an expensive ER trip bill).
@Labluver2 - Thanks. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't being unreasonable by wanting another one.

@Greenhillgirl Glad you've got a solution for the meds next round if you need it. I thought you'd worked with a urologist already so I'm glad I remembered right. Sorry there's no easy fix! It's all so frustrating! Honestly, clomid helped DH with his testosterone and motility but killed the morphology (although no one agrees on if that's a problem) so jury's out of whether that's really a "help," haha.
@dmo1371 I've been drinking red raspberry leaf tea everyday which maybe improves lining but at least isn't doing anything negative. I can't tell you if it's actually helping because I O'd so quickly last cycle I never made it to my follie check. So I can only say that the cycle before that, my lining was at 5.5 at CD10 and this time it was at 6.7 at CD12. Both times my RE was unconcerned, but there's nothing wrong with asking for a follow up u/s if you're concerned.
AFM I forgot to update about myself on Wednesday (CD12): I had 1 follie at 17, 1 at 15, 2 at 12, and 1 at 10. I'm to trigger tomorrow night (CD15) if I don't get a +OPK by then, with IUI on Monday morning. Thus far I've seen nary a line, so I think it will be the trigger. I'm guessing, if they keep growing, I'll end up with at least two mature follies, which is great.
Hey guys! I just intro'd so I hope its ok that I post in here.
# IUI: 1 Planned IUI date: I have my monitoring u/s next Tuesday (CD 11, the 13th), so my guess is IUI around the 15th..ish
As for a vacation, my H and I just got back from a bunch of vacations so I am fairly relaxed and feeling good now. We did Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro and then back to the states to go to Acadia National Park up in Maine. I would loooove to hit up Patagonia, Scandinavia or Turkey, but no plans to travel in the near future, sadly.

# IUI: 1
Planned IUI date: I have my monitoring u/s next Tuesday (CD 11, the 13th), so my guess is IUI around the 15th..ish

Welcome @kiwi2628! I know nobody wants to be in this situation, but the ladies here are awesome and so supportive.
AFM: The nurse called with the plan. I have a follow up ultrasound Monday (that will hopefully show both my follies are nice and big as well as thick lining) with hopeful IUI Tuesday. Tuesday is the 13th and I've always considered 13 one of my lucky numbers

This will be IUI #1. I am going in for my baseline tomorrow. If I had to guess, I think the IUI will be around the 23rd-ish.
There are soo many places I want to travel! New Zealand is up on my list! I also want to go to England and Ireland. And Bora Bora.

Im still feeling the symptoms from the trigger shot and at 5dpiui so it's making it hard for me not to symptom spot. I feel bloated and gross again tonight. DH and I saw Wonder Woman so that was a nice distraction and I just finished baking some oatmeal cookies.
