Waiting Room Wednesday - 5/24/17

***General TW that this thread might contain discussions mentioning MC and loss.***

Welcome to Waiting Room Wednesday!

You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on not TTC and connect with others who are in the same boat. TTC can be a long journey, and having to wait makes it feel even longer -- even if it is for a good reason. I invite you to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Benched = involuntarily not NTNP/TTC and "out of the game," usually due to medical reasons

TTA = avoiding pregnancy by using protection or FAM, usually for non-health-related reasons __________________________________________________________________

Are you benched or TTA?

What brings you here?

How long do you think you'll be here?

How have things been going?

Any R/R?

GTKY:What was the last movie you went to? What did you think?

Re: Waiting Room Wednesday - 5/24/17

  • Are you benched or TTA? Still benched.

What brings you here? Still dealing with the back pain. We were out yesterday and it was driving me crazy.

How long do you think you'll be here? Hopefully not past the end of the summer if I go back to work soon, end of the year if it takes longer than a couple of weeks once my doctor adjusts my restrictions.

How have things been going? Eh, okay. My doctor appointment is tomorrow, and hopefully she'll loosen the restrictions so that HR can find me a position (and get this pain sorted, but we'll see).

Any R/R? Not that I can think of. Things are pretty even.

GTKY:What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? We finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 last night! It was really good :) There were a couple of minor things I got spoiled for that I was able to extrapolate from, but I still really enjoyed it.

  • Are you benched or TTA? TTA

What brings you here? Just waiting for things to regulate before starting TTC

How long do you think you'll be here? Not to much longer. I origianally thought July but I think I'm ready now so probably after AF hits.

How have things been going? Pretty good :). Migraines are a PITA, and part of reason I want to go ahead TTC. My Dec 14 board of moms did a TBT of our littles and I was like OK I'M READY YESTERDAY LOL.

Any R/R?I can't find my BBT so I can't start temping and I need to b/c I though I ovulate a couple week ago but today I had some major egg white discharge so IDK and AF hasn't come or showing any signs of coming.

GTKY:What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? Beauty and The Beast with some mom friends. I LOVED IT!

@dreamscapes_ Good Luck at your appointment and HR finding you some work. DH are going to try to go see GOG2 Friday evening or Sunday afternoon

  • @dreamscapes_ You signed up for Uber right (or am I confusing you)? How's that going? Any luck with that? I'm very interested to hear how it goes!
@kindbytealikat Very excited for you! One of the only times where I am excited for AF is when I know it is the beginning of a TTGP cycle. :P

GTKY: DH and I rarely go to the movies (they're just TOO DARN LONG...or we are too darn old). I think the last I went to was 50 Shades Darker with my BFF (she LOVES the series, and her DH buys us tickets so that way she doesn't make him take her to the movie, lmao...so I'm in it for the free movie and popcorn). It was terrible, which was expected.
  • @kindbytealikat Good luck! I'm excited that you're going to start soon! Beauty and the Beast was actually the last movie we saw before last night as well, lol. It was good! I'll definitely update tomorrow after my appointment. I don't think I'll hear anything from HR until at least mid-next week, since the appointment is at 5 and then paperwork processing and all that. Enjoy the movie! We really loved it. Make sure you stay through the credits :D

@JennyColada Yes, I signed up for Uber. It's going okay so far. I made about $200 in three and a half days, which isn't too bad, but then add in gas costs and it's quite a bit less. But oh well. Megacon is this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some rides from that. DH wants to sign up for it as well so that if I'm not feeling well, he can drive. We don't go to the movies very often. They're just too expensive, but the blood bank near us gives free passes sometimes if you donate. We absolutely love watching movies, though. Bleh on 50 Shades. I hate that series so much, you have no idea.

  • @dreamscapes_ Oh that's neat about the blood bank! I think there was a place around here that did that as well because one of my friends used to do that so that she could take her BF out on a "date" (they were both students at the time too, so that was a really nice perk!). I've never donated and I don't think that I can (medical issues), but I'm ok with that because it makes me really squirmy to even think about.
  • @dreamscapes_ I hope your dr appointment goes well tomorrow. Thanks for getting this going today - school has been crazy this week!
@kindbytealikat - Next cycle?!? So exciting! I'm loving that we will have another 'grad' from this post. Sorry that you are still dealing with migraines :(

Are you benched or TTA? TTA

What brings you here? Still waiting :/ I am waiting on some news at work to see how soon I get started. Will I get the supplement or not...still playing the waiting game.

How long do you think you'll be here? It depends. If I get the supplement August, if not July - maybe late June. (That freaked me out typing it because it is almost June :#)

How have things been going? I have been very stressed lately. I am so tired at night I am dreading my grad school homework. I am so ready for this school year to wrap up. I have been working on packing my room so I can relocate to a new one and that has been an ordeal. A new grade level and room is a lot for this type a, creature of habit to deal with.

    Any R/R? See above

GTKY:What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? I think it was Beauty and the Beast - which I really liked :)

  • @JennyColada They do it every so often! Apparently the blood centers down here have a tendency to run low, so they try and get people in. We don't mind donating, especially since DH's blood type is pretty common, but mine isn't (according to the Red Cross, only about 6% of the US population has it). I totally understand feeling squirmy about donating, though.

@glitzandglitter Not a problem! I know you usually do it, but I figured that since it wasn't up yet by the time I looked, I'd go ahead and do it :) I hope you get some news about the supplement soon! Do you have a summer break from grad school, or does that continue on? Hopefully the stress will ease up soon.

@dreamscapes_ No I don't :/ We are actually just starting summer semester. I am a little bummed to not have a break but I am trying to focus on the fact that since there is no break we will be done in December. If we didn't have the summer semester we wouldn't finish until May of next year, which seems really far away and it would further mess up my TTC timeline. I think my stress level will hopefully drop by Friday evening. I have some papers due for class (I finish 1 tonight, 1 more to go :) ) and everything needs to be ready to move by then so having all that done will be a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
  • Are you benched or TTA? Benched, because of insurance waiting period (I'm not in America, so my insurance is different).

What brings you here? Trying to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of having 2 kids. Crazy

How long do you think you'll be here? We can start in August (based on when I'll have coverage) but I'm still periodless from my last pregnancy so I think I need to stop nursing. I'm aiming to get to ds's first birthday, which is July.

How have things been going? My mental health is a bit meh ATM. I have had pretty bad ppd and ppa, and I thought I had it controlled but the ppa is going crazy. Ds isn't sleeping and work sucks so I think I'm just at the end of my tether. I go from being prepared for another LO, to panicking because there's times (like now) that I'm barely hanging on. I have no idea how to fix this.

Any R/R? My child is allergic to sleep. He needs to sort himself out so mummy doesn't go off the deep end.

GTKY:What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? Guardians of the galaxy 2. It was our first date night in months, and we went and drank cocktails and watched it. I want to see pirates of the Caribbean soon.

  • TTA

Waiting for DH to be on board and finances to be better.

Thinking we'll be here until around Sept/Oct. Sooner if I get my way!! Lol

Thibgs are going good honestly. I've accepted the fact that we're waiting longer than I'd like.

Rave: If you didn't see in the other thread, I got a new position at work!! Woo!! This comes with a $1 raise, and after 90 days an extra 50 cents, so $1.50/hr more total. So helpful since finances are part of why we're waiting!!!

Rant: DS is teething some more and has been pretty cranky lately :/

GTKY: Last movie would be La La Land with DH. Honestly, freaking loved it. Until the effing end. I won't give anything away, but it was not an ending DH and I liked. We still bought the movie though, lol.

  • @glitzandglitter Ew, that sucks. Hopefully the stress won't be too bad over the summer, though. Did you get your paper done? Enjoy your holiday weekend, at least!

@LilLambie If you don't mind my asking, where are you from? Have you talked to your doctor about your mental health? I hope you're able to get it back under control :( Anxiety and depression are awful. Hopefully your son will learn that sleep is a wonderful thing!

SO. The doctor is adjusting my restrictions so that I can lift a heavier poundage. She also is referring me for an ultrasound of my right hip, since that lump wasn't visible on the MRI, but she was definitely able to feel it. Hopefully with the loosened restrictions, HR will be able to find a position for me soon. They probably won't get the paperwork until mid to late next week because of the holiday, but that's okay. I've waited this long, another week won't make anything worse, lol.

  • @CecilB93 Yay for the new position (again, but still)! And also yay for the raise! Hopefully the teething isn't too awful for your DS :( We still haven't seen La La Land. Not really sure if I want to, to be honest.

  • @Lillambie - I am sorry that you are struggling with your mental health right now. Do you have someone you see or have seen? If so, maybe you should reach out to them. Being a parent is tough and I think we all have our moments of feeling the way you do - I say this not to minimalize your feelings but to let you know that you are not alone in feeling that way.

@CecilB93 - Yay! Congrats on the new job!!

@dreamscapes_ I just finished my homework for the week! So I am feeling much better already :) I am so glad your doctor is looking into your bump further. I hope you get some answers soon and that your lighter restrictions lead to a work placement for you :)

  • I'm in Australia. We have 'free' public health (we pay for it in our taxes based on our income). It's good for most things, but it is catering for a lot of people so things slip through the cracks. I'm high risk (previous fetal abnormality, epilepsy, hypermesis gravidarum, spd and then I had an emergency C-section) and a lot of things got missed last pregnancy. I want to go through the private system so that I have one care provider the whole time which I think will help.

I am going back to a psychologist this week. I'm hoping that will help, because I'm sick of being unhappy and overwhelmed.
