How far along are you? 38 weeks

How big is baby? Pomeranian 

Any appointments this week? Regular OB today. US to check growth Thursday. 

Symptoms? Major lightning crotch. Very painful pelvic pain. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? Dr. made a comment on how he hopes we don't have a ton of newborn size clothes as he's expecting her to be at least 8#. Luckily I got 1 box of nb diapers and 3 outfits just in case. 

Anyone know if there is a cutoff point when you should stop taking baths? I take one once a week or so to use the jets on my aches and pains. 


Progress made or plans for baby preparation? 
Cervix is thinning and maybe 1cm dialated so not much. 


GTKY: What are a few items you bought or were gifted that you think will be most useful for the baby? just the normal stuff. Excited to have our phones connect to monitor so DH can see her while he's at work.

How far - 37 weeks

How big - Head of romaine lettuce/honeydew melon

Appointments - Last OB check yesterday.  Tomorrow is the big show! C-section @ 10:30am!

Symptoms - Discomfort around my belly and pelvic pressure, especially at night. Horrible sleep. 

Rants/raves/etc. - My OB decided just last Monday to move up my cs date two weeks, so I'm so relieved my mom was able to reschedule her complicated travel plans to get here last night. Not having to worry about childcare has really alleviated a lot of my anxiety.

GTKY - STM here so not much on the new gear front, but I was very touched when three of my friends bought me a gift certificate for a post-natal massage. I'm sure that will come in handy!

@SWE2 - Also expecting a big baby! They estimated she was already over 7lbs a couple weeks ago at my growth u/s. Glad I didn't go nuts with the NB-sized stuff, either!

Thanks for starting this @SWE2! I missed chatting with you guys last week.

As far as baths go, my midwife told me I'm good right up till the end unless my water breaks. She just doesn't want me using the hot tub (even with the temp turned down) because it doesn't cool off over time like a bathtub would. 

How far along are you? 39 weeks!

How big is baby? A pumpkin 

Any appointments this week? Had a check and membrane sweep yesterday. I'm 1.5-2 cm. Also saw my physiotherapist today which I really needed because my back is a mess. I feel so much better now and not waddling as badly as I was before. 

Symptoms? My knees and hips really hurt. The swelling from my knees down is ridiculous and so uncomfortable. No BH or cramping though.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm over the emotional hormone rollercoaster. By the end of the day I'm a sobbing mess. I'm just so tired of being uncomfortable. 

Progress made or plans for baby preparation? I got all my padsicles made, finished washing all the new hand-me-downs from my SIL, and did a ton of housework yesterday. My hospital bag and paperwork has finally made it into my car. All I have left to do is pick up the liner for the tub at the hospital and I think I'm all set!

GTKY: What are a few items you bought or were gifted that you think will be most useful for the baby? I was gifted a lot of really useful stuff, but I'm really excited about all the cloth diapers I got. I shouldn't have to buy any for a long, long time.

@slowmo I'm so glad your mom was able to change her travel plans! That must be such a relief for you. And lucky you on the massage!

Symptoms? Heartburn, frequent restroom trips, swollen feet, sharp pain in lower area,

Hi Tuesday Tickers! I, too, missed our chat last week and here I am now with a newborn at home. Rowan weighed 8 lb 5.5 oz at birth and fits newborn sizes just fine. Plus with the expected weight lost initially with any newborn, it's good to have some on hand @Swe2 and @slowmo. 

How many weeks old is baby? 2 days & 17 hours (lol)

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? Follow up at newborn center tomorrow

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? We're having latch issues. Saw an LC this morning which was super helpful but still with same problems at home. So we're doing what we have to to keep Rowan happy and fed.

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? My mom is staying for a week and MIL comes everyday to help, which is AWESOME!  Although, secretly, I miss it being just us and don't know what it's like adding Rowan into our mix. But, because he was a bit early, we still weren't completely ready and having their help has allowed us to get organized.

Rants/raves/questions? DS has seemed to come around and is waving hi to his little brother and gives "ugga muggas" (which are Daniel Tiger nose kisses). We even got a picture of them... TOO CUTE!

GTKY: What are a few items you bought or were gifted that you're finding most useful for the baby? SwaddlePods. I cant swaddle with a blanket and wished I had brought them to the hospital but forgot to pack it in my distracted state after my fall last Thursday.

@mrsrep123 thanks for the weight reassurances. Glad you are having a good experience being home and what awesome moms you have to help out! Hope your latching issues get resolved. I still love the name Rowan . 

@MrsCPALeslie I am also ready to be done. My Dr didn't schedule an induction either since I still have 3 weeks before that. He did say that if I don't have her by 40w6d they will either do an induction or start opening cervix day before induction. So I guess I have an end-ish date but nothing set.

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? We are still at the hospital but will likely head home tomorrow (Friday). DD has a Ped appt Monday Morning. 

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? My milk hasn't come in yet - which isn't surprising - but I am sure I will have a little bit of anxiety until it does and I know she's getting good meals. (Yes, I plan to supplement in the meantime.) 

Rants/raves/questions? Rave, I guess... My C-section recovery is going SO MUCH BETTER this time around. I have less pain and am able to move more and sooner than I did with DS! 

GTKY: What are a few items you bought or were gifted that you're finding most useful for the baby? I am glad that I brought a few little outfits for the baby to wear in the hospital. DS stayed in the white, snap shirts the whole time, and I just feel like that was so boring!

Hey ladies!! I am the worst and have been slacking on this the last 2 days. So glad to see so many new and healthy babies in our Tuesday group and sending good vibes to those of you still in the home stretch!!

How many weeks old is baby? 4 weeks and 1'day

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? 1 month check up next Monday! I'm anxious to see how she's gaining. I'm guessing she's around 8 pounds now (6 pounds 10 ounces at her 2 week check).

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? Feeding has been going pretty good. I was hoping we could get to 70% BF by this point, but we are still just 50/50. I haven't been aggressively trying to increase, so I know that's why. I'm feeling totally ok with it though. Which is a welcomed change to the anxiety I felt with DS.

Rants/raves/questions? Rave! I feel like the early days with this one have been SO much easier than with DS. After months of agonizing over the first 6 weeks, I am totally shocked at how seamless it's all been. Yippee! 

GTKY: What are a few items you bought or were gifted that you're finding most useful for the baby? The items we use constantly are: cheapo flat bassinet from Fisher Price for nighttime sleeping in our room, RnP for hanging out and sleeping during my daytime Netflix binges, Boppy for feeding and sleeping post feeding, Bjorn bouncer for hanging out while awake, diaper baskets in living room and our bedroom for easy changes, and Velcro swaddle pods. Some of those were left over from DS...
