Hi all!  I am 28 YO, soon to be 29 and my husband and I have been TTC for approximately 1 year.  I was on birth control pills for 10+ years and diagnosed with PCOS.  I have been on letrozole for 2 cycles and starting my 3rd cycle tomorrow.  I did ovulate with 5 mg so we are really happy about that.  The doctor told me I should conceive within the next 2 cycles and if not, they would do an HSG test.  My question is, what happens after the HSG test if my tubes are not blocked?  Is IUI something that is done only if there is low motility of the sperm?   My husbands sperm analysis was great so I am wondering what our options will be.  We are seeing a reproductive endocrinologist May 12thso hopefully I will have more answers.  Any tips on conceiving such as what days to have intercourse?

Had a bit of a similar situation. I didn't ovulate without meds, but once I got on letrozole I started ovulating normally. After 5 cycles we still weren't pregnant, so we got a semen analysis and it was totally normal. I had an HSG and it was normal as well.

Our RE did recommend IUI's as the next step. I only had 2 before moving on to IVF largely because my IUI's were terribly painful due to a severely retroverted uterus.

I'm sure the RE will be able to give you some specific guidance that is better suited to your situation, but I'd be surprised if they didn't at least recommend trying some IUI's!

I haven't seen my RE yet (appointment is on the 23rd) but if you haven't conceived after 2 cycles I would imagine they would recommend IUI even if your husband's SA was normal. A friend of ours and her hubby went through infertility, and found out she wasn't ovulating and once on Clomid she ovulated. I believe his SA was fine but due to his work schedule they couldn't do timed intercourse so they had to do IUI which worked for them on the 2nd try I believe.

Every other day for intercourse is usually what's recommended. Some recommend every day but I believe it takes around 48 hours for sperm to completely regenerate or whatever the proper term is for it, lol. Too much and too less intercourse can both be hindering, that's why they recommend every other day.

Thanks again, I am also using an ovulation kit starting CD 9 so lets see what happens, hope we all conceive soon! ❤️

I was on femara / letrozole my last 2 cycles with follistim and was a slow grower of follicles so doing stright injectables now. We are doing IUI's, husband stuff is good and everything else, but IUI's are nice because they monitor you and know around exactly you'll ovulate and the sperm will be there waiting for the egg to release. For me, IUI's seem less stressfull than TI alone because it takes the guessing game out of it.

@monicajshah Mine never have, moreless uncomfortable due to the speculem, like in a regular exam. The tube they use is tiny, so you hardly feel anything.

I had all the testing hystescopy, hsg and everything was normal for me and also my husband was normal. I do have low reserves BC of my age. I was put on femera and this cycle we added injectables. BC of my age they wanted to throw us right into ivf but I have no coverage and we can't afford it so I asked if IUI was an option and could I still get preg with low reserves and he told me yes. 
My first IUI didnt hurt I felt a little cramping but nothing major.
