@Prudence9 OOH! Maybe! My RE uses Reprogenetics... their site says once they receive the samples their turnaround is about 24-36 hours so hopefully we hear good news in the next few days (if the samples went out Sat or Mon.... which I assume they did and there isn't a huge backlog of testing to be done!)

AFM, started BCP this morning for the first time EVER and seems super weird (and I know, also really lame for me to freak out about considering all the high test meds I've been pumping into my body across two stim cycles LOL)

Distractions for me during the wait: Some of you know I have a small farm... nothing much but it keeps me and DH in fresh veggies and fresh eggs all year long (!!!) and we just had a black bear sighting on our property!  Of course, being the old hippie I am, I looked up meanings, particularly when they come wandering into your life or across your path: Bear Spirit provides us with strength in times when we feel weak or helpless. Life can prove challenging, and Bear is definitely up to the task – no matter the source.

Seemed like a great validation to push onward with this journey. (although my neighbor must have thought otherwise and fired off 8 rounds to scare it away LOL)

I was scheduled for fet on may 17th but when i had my baseline and saline ultrasound on april 27th RE spotted what might be polyps so i now have to wait for may 30th for a hystoscopy and if all goes well im hoping for a fet in the end on June.. has anyone had this happen to them? If so did they stop the bcp after the hystoscopy?
  • Options
Looks like I will start bcp as soon as my next AF arrives.  My cycle after stim cycle has generally been short (23-25 days), so I'm hoping I get my AF in a couple of weeks.  Sonohysterogram will be performed next cycle.  Since they won't give me a calendar until I get my AF, I have no idea when the transfer will be.

In the mean time, I've gone back to acupuncture, and will follow gluten and dairy free diet...

@Prudence9- Thanks! Hoping June (or July) will be the month for us!

@cmiller73- a bear sighting! sounds scary but I'm sure that it's a good sign :)

@momma6angels11- It was before I started IVF, but my RE discovered small polyps/tissues in my uterus and I had hysteroscopy to remove them.  I wasn't on any bcp at the time, and this was almost 9 months ago.  Hoping the polyp removal is successful and you recover quickly!

Alright girls! As of this morning, I'm officially joining this party! Lots of familiar names from the April IVF group (Hi!) and looking forward to following each and everyone's story.
Met with RE this morning and tentatively scheduled our FET for June 26th (she just needs to confirm the scheduling on her end but should be OK). After our failed fresh xfer last month, I began to lose hope, but RE actually said this morn that she thinks I will be pregnant after the FET. We were both a lil shocked she even said that but I'll take all the optimism I can get.
She said something else that shocked me...I was asking her if the % of our embryos that fertilized and didn't arrest between day 3 and 5 was normal and she said that it was indeed a lil low...(27R, 17M, 13F, 3B + the 2 we transferred on day 3)... I was expecting her to credit this due to egg quality but she said it was due to sperm quality.  It's just everything I've read on this (and I've read A LOT) NEVER mentions sperm as a contributor to overall embryo development, it always seems to blame the egg. Have any of you heard of this?

@brooklyngirl18 I am trying to be patient. Lots of deep breathing today haha

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I'm sorry you're here but welcome! it's always nice to see a familiar 'face'. I haven't heard anything about sperm being a contributing factor but now that I think about it, it makes total sense. FX this one sticks.
@cmiller73 I hope you hear soon. the wait is brutal!

Thank you! You said you weren't on bc ..they said birth control keeps the lining thinner for the hystoscopy..im just praying all goes well and ill still be able to do fet in june.
  • Options
@momma6angels11, I have heard that if an embryo fails days 1-3 it is egg quality and if it is 3-6 than it is sperm quality, but I have no research papers to back that up. Just something I have heard multiple times through my 7 yr journey.

    Good lucj with this FET!
  • Options
@momma6angels11- I think I wasn't placed on bcp because they performed hysteroscopy when my lining was thin. I was told to schedule the procedure within 5-10 days after the start of the cycle to ensure a thin lining. Sort of like sonohysterogram. Maybe if the patient is on bcp then you can perform hysteroscopy outside of this window? I don't know. I bled for about two weeks (very light spotting) but other than that, it was okay.

Hey gals, looks like I'm joining the June FET party! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and following your journeys. I had my first IVF cycle in April. We had a fresh 5dt that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. On the bright side, though, we have 7 (not PGS tested) frozen embryos and are scheduled for a June 2 transfer!

I have a question for those who have had an FET following a chemical or BFN - what was your period like? I had fairly heavy bleeding right before my 1st beta. The 1st beta and following blood test confirmed the chemical. While I had a fair amount of bleeding I had very minimal cramping and didn't pass any tissue (sorry if this is TMI). Because of this I didn't think it really counted as my period. When I was putting together a plan with my doctor this week he insisted that it was my period. I'm now on lupron and estrogen pills. I'm just concerned that all the old tissue from my last cycle is still in my uterus and could hurt the chances of this upcoming FET
  • Options
@caitb13 welcome, we're cycle buddies! I'm sorry about your chemical pregnancy, that's so sad. I didn't have a fresh transfer but my period post retrieval was quite heavy with lots of cramping.

caitb13 - everyone is different of course but there was no mistaking my period after my stimulated fresh cycle (BFN). I've suffered from endometriosis and VERY painful periods my entire life but that one was a doozy. very painful and lots of cramps and passing clots...
  • Options
@caitb13 Both periods after my ER were overly heavy and very painful. I agree that it seemed to be less bleeding and more shedding... def different than usual!
  • Options
@cashewchicken the soonest they could get me in for the hystoscopy was may 30th and i was already on the bc for the start of my fet cycle and was supposed to start estradiol the day after they did baseline but that got changed when he found polyps..you said you bleed lightly for two weeks? When did you get your 1st period after the hystoscopy? Or was that your period?
I hope you get yours soon, as i know waiting is not fun..lol.waiting for the schedule, then praying nothing messes it up then the crazy 2ww.. looking forward to knowing your final transfer date..

Thanks for sharing your experiences @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake and @cmiller73. I think I'm definitely going to ask about it again when I go for my ultrasound on Monday. I would hate for something so silly to derail the cycle, or worse, end up wasting one of our embryos.
  • Options
    @caitb13- Welcome!

@momma6angels11- I had the procedure on cycle day 9, after the procedure, I had light bleed on the day of, and then just light spotting for about two weeks after. My period came on cycle day 31.

Waiting is so hard! I have to get some blood tests done in the next few days but other than that I don't have much to do... besides getting healthy, of course.

i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I'm surprised your RE said that.  I keep asking my RE if I should look into donor sperm but she keeps saying it the egg quality due to me fun old age  :D  Granted I didn't make as many eggs as you did thats for sure and usually a decent amount have fertilized.  However each cycle and sample is different as we see.  Did your OH not have a great sample?  For me OH has had various samples throughout this sample from outstanding to terrible, its so odd!!

cmiller73 hope you're good news comes tomorrow!  I know its not easy!

cashewchicken have you done diary free before?  Just cutting it out cold turkey?  Good for you!  So your IV3 was a different protocol?  Did you like it better?  Yes u had a great outcome so of course u do ;)

@Hopeful_mom- how's your u/s appointment going?  Hope your follies are growing nice and big!

I've never gone dairy free. I can't quit cold turkey. I just bought a carton of milk and some cheese and I hate to waste them. Once I finish them, I won't buy anymore! (My husband isn't as into dairy as I am). My protocol for IVF#3 was long-lupron and definitely the procol worked for me. If I ever need to go through cycling again, I know which protocol to do :)

@cashewchicken wow! I too love cheese but i have been cheese free for at least a week now. I dont drink reg milk..only almond or coconut.. im not sure how i would count my cycle days being on birth control  and all.. but my cycle day 1 was april 15th so im thinking cd 46 will be hysteroscopy day so hopefully I will stop bc and get AF right away.. im not real sure on this..
@Hopeful_mom do you just do dairyfree or do you do grainfree as well?
  • Options
@brooklyngirl18  - I hear you...everything is hurry up and wait.

Though it's funny how attached I've become to my baby blasts. I feel as if they are getting lonely just sitting there in the freezer. And then I begin to think about all 3 of them and how we decided to transfer only 2 next month...When will I be transferring my third, I wonder? Could be this year...could be in a few years...
I've decided I will give each and every one the chance to grow at some point. but that's easy for me to say with only 3 - what has everyone else decided to do with any remaining frosties?

The science behind it all is just so amazing!

@Hopeful_mom - I've thought about donor sperm before but it makes me feel so guilty that the thought even crosses my mind. I'm not sure OH would be very receptive of the idea but if we don't get pregnant soon I'm afraid it's something we may seriously need to consider.

Regarding OH's sperm, the issue is low count. But ER day was a circus and his 1st 'deposit' showed issues with motility. it appears, however, that that was due to a lube we had used during intercourse just a few hours earlier. So his 2nd 'deposit' of the day (after he showered) was fine in that they were able to find enough sperm to fertilize all the eggs. whew!
  • Options
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I really struggle with what to do with our frosties. I have 7 pgs tested and I already have a child at home. Before all this IF stuff, me and DH were pretty set on 2 kids due to finances and all that but we are now open to 3 if possible. I don't want to jinx anything but I'm praying that with 7 pgs embryos we can  have 1-2 more kids but I have this nagging voice in the back on my mind on what happens if we are done having kids and have frosties. I would love to donate them to IF couples but man that is a hard decision to make. I guess that's selfish. I don't really know what we'll do but it's on my mind a lot.

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake We only have 2 embryos left and are transferring both so we won't have to make that decision, but we initially did discuss it and decided that we would want to donate any extras we may have ended up with.

@brooklyngirl18 I agree it's a hard decision, but if you use an agency it's kind of like an adoption agency and you get to choose the family your embabies go to, might help relieve some of the anxiety about it :)

cashewchicken I dont know but i find myself more concerned about my protocol and here I did get a normie.  The fact that we go through a whole cycle with no success makes me just nervous!!  Thanks for asking about my appt.  Works has been stressing me out so I get nervous that its effecting me but so far I'm doing ok....just nervous that they don't all stay in the game as I think one follie on the right might not be growing.  I have 2 on the right and 5-6 on the left.  Hoping I can get a strong 5-7 would be ideal...I hope!!!

momma6angels11 Cashewchiken is the one going dairy free, and i'm commending her!  I eat too much cottage cheese, yogurt and ice cream ;) to really give it up.  I feel like those are the healthier things in my diet.  Should I try I guess...but its hard when I'm on cycle 6 of IVF...u try everything for something to work.  Its hard to stick to, not drinking alcohol for 2/3 years now.  Not like i'm an alcoholic but when TTC i never wanted to take the chance.

brooklyngirl18  @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake funny this topic is coming up as I've thought about the frosties as well.  Here I'm trying to bank and what so I do if I'm lucky enough to have some left.  Its hard but I have to say put it to the back of your mind.  Brooklyn you have 7 which is so awesome!!  Lets first get our healthy take home babies and then worry about it

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake  you just refreshed my memory on your ER and the champ your OH was that day!  Its hard as my OH motility was in the 40% zone but alot and they felt good enough for my cycle 4 where my emebabies were all abnormal :(  However for cycle 5 OH had like 99% motility and I got my 2 normal embabies...not happy I didn't get more but thrilled I got the 2.  Thats the only time I question it BUT RE still blames my old eggs, and he has kids so we know his sperm does work.  Men can have kids at 90 if they want its unreal!  I know theres alot of thought process in it.  On another thread a girl chimed in about being adopted and really touched on her adopitive parents being her parents and she wasn't even interested in her biological parents AND that even so she still has mannerisms and many things like them that you think they had her...she wrote it better, but you get the idea.  For me knowing he has kids already with someone else but wouldn't have one with me crushed me, so I do understand as I put thought into it.

@momma6angels11-  Growing up I wasn't that into dairy due to being lactose intolerant.  As I've grown older, I started drinking more milk after discovering lactose-free milk, and I've developed a palate for gruyere and other more exotic cheeses. Dairy consumption has gone up considerably in the past 5 years, now that I think about it, kind of coincides with the whole TTC phase.  Not sure if dairy-free (or more like reduced dairy) and gluten-free (or reduced...) will do anything, but it doesn't really hurt, I suppose.

@Hopeful_mom- I'm sorry that your work is stressing you out.  Try to relax as much as you can.  Hope your follies are nice and plump and get many in retrieval like you did last time!

@cmiller73- Congrats! So awesome that you have your transfer date (time frame) already!  I'm a bit jealous as you are transferring around my b-day!  :)  So how many PGS normal embryos did you end up getting?  As for AF, I haven't experienced any flow stopping and starting again.  I've experienced that with spotting (no spotting on day 5, and then some spotting on day 6 sort of thing), but not with actual flow.  Hmmm.  Probably it's nothing, but maybe you can mention it to your RE?

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake-  I know what you mean.  IVF definitely has taken over my life!  How do you ladies able to focus and get any work done?  I'm currently not that busy at work and that's making things worse as I spend probably more time thinking about IF and babies than doing actual work!  Though I'm not that busy, there is still some work that needs to be done, so I need to focus but it's so hard!

@cmiller73- how exciting ur prepping for FET even without the results, I love your REs attitude!!  Do you get results over the weekend?  As for the bleeding I've been doing IVF for so long now its hard to gauge what a "normal" AF is.  I did have what you're experiencing where AF was DONE and out of no where I starting bleeding but not as heavily as you.  It was (TMI) bright red and AF but then it stopped in an hour or so...it couldn't hurt to mention to RE but I do think it goes with al the craziness of IF.

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake-  Ditto to what you said!!  Its hard as I thought just TTC consumed you but IF just takes on a whole new meaning.  I hate that I rush the months away and I've literally been injecting myself and on this roller coaster for over a year now, I forget what its like to not being doing this anymore UGH!!  Will be happy when I can look at this as my past!!

cashewchicken yea I feel like I just need a vacation from it all.  It sucks as I wasn't working for a few weeks but the IF world stresses you out anyway so I rather be working as it all meshes together.  I know I keep complaining about all the weight I've gained and with this week I actually lost a few lbs probably with being too busy to really eat BUT now I just gained 6lbs over night...does cetritide really bloat u that much.  I did eat a big meal last night but I can't believe it has that much of an effect ugh!!!!  Waiting for the nurses to call to let me know how i'm doing.  The tech on the weekends never measures my follies correct but one looked way bigger on the screen so i'm a lil concerned.  Maybe I"ll try to get a nap in with this lovely weather.  I so wanted to skip monitoring today!

@cashewchicken @Hopeful_mom we received results yesterday that 1 from the 6 we sent from IVF2 was normal. We are moving forward with that 1 as trying and it working is the best outcome (the energy we are sending to the universe right now!) and the timing would be the same for the other outcome (waiting and trying after another cycle is roughly the same timeframe as this not working and going to ER cycle 3) Lucky little #10 is just waiting to come back to me for a few more weeks :) also the RE didn't hesitate to get us going for FET knowing we had one normal... as they only transfer 1 with PGS embryos anyway.

Hi everyone! I'm a little behind on this thread. But wanted to wish good luck to everyone that is starting the preparations for June!

I'm suppose to start Lupron injections on Monday. But I'm planning to wait to first talk to my RE on Wed. So if all goes well, will probably start injections on Wed or Thurs.

@cmiller73 Awesome, i am so excited for you! Yes i had that happen just last month when i started bcp on cd 3 i was basically done bleeding and then out of nowhere it came back.. then i went for baseline and re found polyps.. this never happened any other time.. praying its not the same for you.
@brooklyngirl18 this has affected me as well.. this will be most likely my first and last try with fet and we only have 3 frosties left..we want to just do all three and be done. The re has only recommended  2 at most, but i am 37. Im still trying to decide 2 or 3 and if 2 what do we do with the lonely one?
@Prudence9 glad you joined us looking forward to babysust for all of us!

@momma6angels11 I think I just had a (TMI) clot that didn't fully pass during my flow.  It was completely done within an hour and what I thought was flow again wasn't. Weirdness and FX that it isn't polyps either!

@Prudence9 YAY for starting things up! :)
