I went to the dr this morning and I have gained 8 lbs so far at 16 weeks. Curious, where are other moms at so far with their weight gain or loss? How far a long? Are you happy with it, or what are you planning on changing to meet your weight goals!?
I think i I I need to amp up the walking and skip some snacks! I don't want to keep gaining 8 a month!

Re: Weight Gain
Edited to remove weight.
Yes, I've gained weight.

I really feel like i haven't been eating that much more than I usually do... although DH said, "I think you might be hungrier than you think," okay... I know some of the weight is the baby growing.
I do think that I need to start working out more. DH and I planned a gym date for Saturday morning!

Actually, I can't think of a constructive way to participate in this conversation except to say what I just said.

Oh, I've been dying to use this! I think now is a perfect opportunity. I don't mean to keep bumping this pointless thread, but Michael Jackson insisted.

For anyone who's concerned about healthy weight gain levels, I'd recommend developing a plan with your doctor, not comparing notes with other moms on the internet whose pregancies/bodies are totally different from yours

What if we just post delicious food gifs in this topic, yes please.
There is zero benefit to comparing weight gain with other strangers on the internet. It only serves to make some people feel unjustifiably better about themselves, and others to feel unjustifiably worse.
That said, I've been told I'm supposed to gain 50+ pounds, so give me all the carbs!

I'm making beef with broccoli in brown sauce for dinner tonight, yummmm. I wish I was talented enough to make my own spring rolls to go along with it

Also, +1 to all those who've cautioned how harmful a weight gain thread is. Eating disorders are way too prevalent to be comparing our weights during a time when they are guaranteed to go up. Just be happy about the miracle happening inside you
Because I too was questioning my rate, I talked about it with my Dr. at our last appointment and she made me feel way more relaxed! So talk to your doc if you get a chance. Since that conversation I have been able to shift my mindset to "Am I nourishing my baby and preparing my body for labor?". Much less stressful than focusing on the scale.
Sending empathy and thoughts of gentle ease your way!

In addition, I was not asking to simply give moms a range of where others are. I am very well informed that everyone is not the same. I'm not even the same as my first pregnancy.
It is however a pegnancy topic that some like to discuss, because it helps keep you accountable. If you don't want to share or find it sentive to talk about then don't share. I never have found weight to be a sensitive topic, it's real life issues we all deal with.
Thanks to those who have shared with me and others on the board. As I can see, we're all within a similar range. Good to know as a guideline.
