  • What in the world is a milk bath shoot? I've never heard of it!

    Just kidding...here's a good photo:

  • Test prep. has started for my End of Grade tests, so I got to watch my third graders take a practice EOG for 3 hours today. So boring, but at least I got some of my maternity plans done.

There are way too many good gifs for this to let it go unanswered....

    But for real.... https://www.pinterest.com/explore/milk-bath-photography/?lp=true
Hmm, interesting. Looks weird and many of them kind of creepy to me, but to each their own!

Sorry for the double post. I got very little from my registry. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed, because those were things we either really needed or would have made life a lot easier, but of course, I would never say that to anyone and I sent nice thank you notes for all the gifts.

I got the car seat, a booster/high chair seat, one cloth diaper cover, and a diaper sprayer off my registry. Everything else was clothes, a couple toys, blankets (which I already have lots of of), a thermometer (nice but not necessary as I already have an ear thermometer), etc. it would have been really nice if a couple people had gone together on, say, the Ergo instead or bought a couple of the diaper covers.
  • +1 for nude.

Both - I got a bunch off my registry and a bunch of 'whatever'
  • Reading my comment now it probably came off ungrateful and like I'd be annoyed with anything I got not on the registry which is farthest from the truth lol, I'm a FTM so i only really registered everything so I don't forget what i need because this baby brain is killing me lately. But I also was told to register a ton of places with small things like 1 or 2 items and you don't tell anyone about those registries, it's just to get the coupons and goody bag of diapers which is a good idea. Also another shower question. My family is throwing it and I just found out the invitations said instead of a card bring a book with a message, they also had raffle ticket and said if you bring a bag of diapers Bring the ticket and you can put it in a raffle of your choice. I feel like thats asking too much, for diapers and a book. (Diapers aren't mandatory) but its too late because they Sent out the invitations, what would you think? If you got the invitation would you think it's greedy? Sometimes my family goes overboard with Pinterest and I don't want anyone thinking we are ungrateful in any way
  • @pwool711 I think at this point it's too late. You aren't throwing the shower, so just try and go with the flow.
  • @JessyKV I'd go with nude!!
@pwool711 I got a good mix of stuff off my registry and them just buying whatever. The majority of registry items that I did get however were the smaller things (pacifier, bibs, etc.)

Thanks ladies! Now to hunt for something to wear under it tomorrow.

@lovesclimbing I think turn out gorgeous but it's definitely not something I'd print on canvas and hang in my house.  I'm really doing it for the photographer.  We will see how it turns out since she's never done one before!
  • @JessyKV another +1 for nude and deep clean. I'd probably go to the lake too, but as a ftm I'm not sure muy opinion means much!

+1 for nude undies and a deep clean.  I'd also probably go to the lake.  Or I'd at least see how I felt leading up to it.

RE: Shower:  My shower was last weekend and we got pretty much everything we registered for.  The only things we received that we didn't register for were the blankets my mom made and bedding set one of her friends made, which was so sweet I took our bedding off the registry, and a few onesies.  We are team green though, which in my experience helps limit the non-registry stuff.  Also they had the book thing and a diaper raffle.  Can I just say how amazing it is to have this many diapers already?  The winner was given a basket with three different kinds of wine and a some other fun things.  It seemed like a great deal to me.

Does anyone else have symptoms of SPD? I did have this much pelvic pain with my first pregnancy and I am wondering if that is what I have. It hurts to get in and out of bed, roll over, and sometimes even hurts just to walk.  :'(

@lmc929 I haven't looked in to SPD but I definitely have a ton of pelvic pain when getting off the couch, in/out of bed and turning over in bed. It's almost always the worst at night or when I haven't moved for awhile. It can be really painful but tends to go away and isn't a constant pain.

  • @lmc929 I have SP too, especially at night when, as @danij0 said, I haven't moved for awhile.  Sorry you're feeling it so intensely.  I mentioned it to my chiro Monday and he said after I deliver we'll do some adjustments to re-establish alignment.

I feel this way, too, and I didn't have this pain at all with my first. I don't know if it is technically SPD, but my ob said that more pelvic pain is very common once you have given birth at least once already. It sucks though!

I have this really bad too. I had it at the end with dd, but I've had it since 20 weeks or so this time. Sitting on an exercise ball helps a little.

it is 87 degrees here and we don't have air conditioning. IM MELTING!!

So I just googled and this sounds like exactly what I have! My midwives hadn't put a name to it. It doesn't quite feel like the wrenching or tearing pain, but it's pain in the center front of my pelvis and it always hurts. Sometimes less and sometimes more. It always hurts more and for the rest of the day if I carry things, even if it's not very much and for a short period of time like a couple loads of groceries. So annoying because I'm busy! I can't just chillax right now.

My midwives suggested I could try a girdle/belly band to help stabilize my pelvis, but so far I haven't.

Sent the link to my sister who is a cat lover too and jokingly told her I was buying it for her for Christmas. She said, "that would be fine." Now I have to reassess my relationship with my sister.

  • This week has been insane! Finishing of the large construction project happened on Monday, Tuesday a pipe breaks at school causing a school shut down, Wednesday DS1's best bud and daycare mate gets diagnosed with pneumonia: DS1 loses it and schedules are thrown off while she gets better (we carpool too), and then today our DC provider shuts down because HER pneumonia flared up and she has a fever! I'm seriously a person who thrives on schedules and routines and this whole month has thrown me for a loop that I'm desperately trying to get out of!!!!!
  • I like that idea @kyreno11!!! Let's do it!
