I love garage sales! It's rainy here today, and I noticed this morning that LO has a tooth poking through! No wonder he was so crabby yesterday and this morning!
Shopping or selling? Garage sales are rarely on Sundays here. The neighborhood by me had one this weekend but it rained most of yesterday and off and on today so no shopping. Though not sure what I need anyway
Going to dinner at a friends (H friend) tonight. They have an almost 1 year old and the other couple has an almost 3 year old. at least everyone will understand any meltdowns!

Selling. We turned a nice little profit and made some space in the basement.
@desoky01 we are in the teething boat over here too. V has been a major crab-ass and drooling like mad. There's too very definitive bumps on his bottom gum and one possible on the top. He but down hard on FIL's thumb the other day and FIL said it actually hurt.
We're having two Memorial Day weekend parties. One Saturday for our family and friends (read: DH's friends) that's kid friendly. Another Sunday for my group of friends (read: almost all unmarried, no kids)... wrote it on the calendar as "No Kid Party" We decided we better cross that out and write something else because it sounds.... funny. But we got a laugh out of it
So I just made a pathetic attempt to DYI a men's crew neck to a v neck. I know what you're thinking... how could she mess this up? Well, in my half asleep state, I cut the back of the shirt to the same V. Ugh. Is there a cute fix out there? They're our union shirts and I have to wear it tomorrow but it was so not flattering as an oversized boxy men's shirt and possibly less flattering as a child took scissors to her oversized boxy men's shirt.

at our friends' last night their 11 month old ate as much as like a 3 year old. I didn't realize kids that young at real food, I thought it was still just fruits/veggies? He's a good size kid and crawled and walked early so maybe he is just ahead even on eating? Or is it normal for them to eat a meal before 1

ODD loved rice and beans starting around 9 or 10 months. She definitely ate at least one full meal a day and then did BM and purees otherwise. But she was definitely comfortable with real food enough that she went head first into her cupcake on her first birthday. This LO wants to eat solids, but I'm not allowing it yet because he can't handle it. He grabs it off our plates and drags our plates towards him.

Good to know. apparently I know nothing about babies LOL

There's a significant learning curve. Be kind to yourself.

LO passed out randomly super early in a dirty diaper and onesie. I let him sleep right? And then maybe ditch the whole bedtime routine later... I think. I can't believe I'm stressing that he's sleeping.
I've noticed that on the nights LO sleeps on his belly for at least a few hours he ends up covered in pee the next morning, I guess from the pressure squishing it out. Any suggestions? Sizing up diapers won't help I don't think since the 2s are pretty big on him already.
@kvruns maybe try making sure he is facing down? You may already do but I find if I don't it's asking for a leak. And M only sleeps on his belly now! Also mah be worth trying a different brand diaper?
@kvruns I'm not sure if these will help your situation, but my oldest leaked so bad at night that no nighttime diaper could even prevent leaks and we used "diaper booster pads." It's almost like a maxi that goes in the diaper. It was the only thing that kept her from leaking every night.
BabiesRus used to sell them as "select kids" brand 30 for $5.99. Now it looks likes BRU has their own brand, but I'm not sure how well they work. Also looks like BRU brand has adhesive strip like a maxi and the other brand did not. I did find some on Amazon that get really good reviews.
Thanks guys! I haven't tried pointing him down, I don't really pay attention. I thought about diaper liners if it gets bad, and then I wondered if the big pads I bought after he was born would work.....
S (and myself) have had a rough couple of nights. Seems like she's dealing with some stomach issues, gas and diarrhea. She was up 5 times last night and pooped 3 times. Something similar happened Saturday night. I had some dairy on Saturday but I've never seen her react this way to it. I'm almost wondering if its the carrots. Does anyone use a probiotic they recommend or any other diarrhea treatment?
M cried after hurting himself for the first time today. He was sitting up and tipped over and hit his head off the wall. I then almost cried. Soft mommy.
I'm longing for another baby.... but then I think of how exhausted I am, and how it's already hard balancing my extracurriculars and social life and work and
I ordered myself a mother's day gift. I tried to drop a hint to H but I don't think he picked up on it so I got something myself. I figure if he did pick up the hint he'd buy a nicer version than what I got so it will be OK. I also want to get one of those Target "my mom is my hero" onesies

Has anyone had any luck night weaning? If S wakes up other than around midnight or 3/4 am, I'm able to rock her back to sleep. But those times she's not having it. The pedi seems to think she doesn't need to eat in the MOTN anymore but she actually does eat. It's not like she falls asleep at the breast during that time. Part of me thinks it is out of habit though because it's always around those same times. I want to try pulling her off sooner but then I don't want her to wake up sooner because she's still hungry.
@kvruns good for you! I've personally got my eye on a new Kate Spade purse I'm buying when we head on vaca!
what one? I've always been a Coach girl but I did buy a Kate Spade crossbody just before B was born. I think I was feeling sorry for myself LOL. Unfortunately the color in person wasn't what I saw online but I can't return it so I was waiting for spring since it is a spring color. But of course I keep forgetting to switch to it

mine hadn't needed to eat MOTN for a while, but the past month or so his night wakings returned (4 month sleep regression, now rolling over and getting stuck) and he was having a hard time calming down so I've been nursing most nights the past 2 weeks. I know I shouldn't because it is like making a new habit but if I don't do it he just lays awake and then starts fussing and I never sleep.

If she's not falling asleep at the breast, I subscribe to the "then they aren't ready to ween" mentality.
@kvruns I'm thinking I want a nice tote style. I have a small one that's a lot more dressy. And I have one that's bright pink and I LOVE it. Goes cross body but also has handles. It's been retired since a diaper bag is my new purse. I think I want a nice wallet too! I love coach as well (have a large black one and a cross body which tends to be my everyday purse but doesn't fit much in there besides my wallet/clutch also coach).
Sigh. I miss purses. Diaper bags are definitely not as pretty.
@kristah2 my best friend didn't want a real diaper bag when she had her baby so she just used the large totes from like Liz Claiborne or whatever that look like large purses. I know Coach makes a diaper bag too. For me I wanted a real diaper bag to not worry about spills and stuff on nice stuff
Sigh. I miss purses. Diaper bags are definitely not as pretty.
If it's not a long-haul kind of day, I usually put some diapers, wipes, and a spare onesie in a ziplock bag and put it at the bottom of my purse. It's way less bulky.

that's a good idea. I don't always bring a diaper bag anyway if it is a quick errand and I made an emergency kit for my car in a gallon ziplock that has diapers, wipes, burp cloth, receiving blanket (doubles for a changing pad), and a spare sleeper.
@SandNStarsNJ great idea! I usually have my diaper bag with me but left in the car. Sometimes it's out there for days (poor thing knows it when I put his half frozen Vaseline on him though!) before I need it again. Travelling I am bringing a large travel bag/carry on and just have a baggie ready to go in there so while we're away it's going to double as a purse and diaper bag. But it's huge so I may hate my life.
I feel like my LO still needs those night feedings when she does wake up. I have tried to rock her to sleep but she just screams. She also is on the lower end of weight at 15% so I think that is a factor. I guess I'm not too worried, I do bottle feed though.
I want to say thanks for all your opinions on those quotes for my friend. I didn't end up having time to make her anything. One of the mornings I was there she was pretty down so we sat outside talking about everything and I gave her a card I had gotten her. There was a lot of talking, hugging, and crying throughout the weekend. It was good though. I think she needed that in the beginning so then she could just enjoy her wedding day.
I just agreed to do the Disney Princess Half Marathon with my sister in February. I have never run more than two miles in my life. I'm already regretting this and there's no way my sister will let me out of it....
Ugh on the night feedings! I feed her rice cereal with a fruit or veggie at 8pm. I try to squeeze in 5 more oz of milk after that and she will go down at the latest 10pm. Then she wakes at 1am for 5 oz, and again at 3am, and then at 5am she wakes to co-sleep. Same pattern. I try so hard to feed her more during the day, she just refuses. Grrrrr! I even tried weaning, but her routine is set in stone!
