Happy Saturday everyone!
I'm stuck at work today and I have a feeling it's going to be a long day. On the upside, Merlefest (bluegrass music festival) is in town this weekend and DH and I are going tomorrow. I've never been and the music is generally not my scene but it's a big deal around here. Zac Brown Band is apparently playing tomorrow so there's that.

Re: Weekend Chatter (4/29-4/30)
DH and I are doing triathlons next weekend, so today we are heading to The Woodlands to pick up our race packets and practice the open water swim. So excited!
We are going furniture shopping today. We want to get a recliner for our living room and the local furniture store is having a big warehouse sale. I've talked DH into taking me out to dinner since I've been on bedrest for the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow we are having ribs at the IL's house. It will be in the 90's this weekend in VA, which is pretty unusual for this time of year. I have a bad feeling it will be a highly uncomfortable summer.

My nails are crazy long and I just painted them. They make texting difficult so I don't know how long I'll keep them this way.
A friend of mine who is also pregnant is having a rough time right now. She's exhausted and has a toddler who's having trouble sleeping. I don't know exactly what the issue is but therapy is involved. I hate this for her. She was supposed to work today but took a mental health day instead because her nerves are shot and she also having stomach trouble.

I'm going to be sanding the walls in our living room today. I absolutely hate sanding but it needs to be done. And yeah yeah, you shouldn't do it while your pregnant if you can avoid it blah blah blah. Whatever. I'm going to wear a mask and open our door wall and put a fan on so the sand blows outside.
I'm also cooking fish today for the first. time. ever. I don't like eating fish but I bought cod and it's going to be breaded. WISH ME LUCK.
Although I do have work I should get done too. Ick

DH left for work at 6am so I've been awake since then...mostly blowing my nose. I never had allergies until I moved to California. It's dumb.
I think it's suppose to be almost 80 today. Perfect weather here!
We are dog sitting for a few days. Our friend is dropping off her dog this afternoon. I really don't mind, he's the only other dog my dogs get along with, but it will be a zoo in here until Wednesday! I might go crazy.
And last but not least, I really don't want to go grocery shopping today so I need to attempt to put something together for dinner tonight with what I have. Wish me luck!

I'm working today then I have tomorrow off. I don't think we have anything planned, so maybe work on the nursery a little more.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

We're going to have to go to Portland on fairly short notice and we're considering driving. It's a 17 hour drive from San Diego and we're trying to figure out how to split it up! In my younger, childfree days I drove straight through from LA to Portland a bunch of times, but I know with two toddlers it's a different ballgame!
Slow sippin on coffee while updating the bump everyfew minutes is what im up to. H is working today so ill netflix all day in bed.
Good weekend all! ❤️
ETA: I probably wouldn't do 17 in one day though. But however you want to split it should be fine. I don't think you'd need to take more than 2 days. We also drove to Oklahoma last summer in less than 3 days so we are all about getting places as soon as possible lol

It honestly depends on your kids. We did 12 hours last summer with a 7, 5 and 2yo. The 7yo was ok, she gets bored and talks A LOT but shes tolerable. The 5 yo will sleep and watch movies the entire time. The 2 yo was tough. She gets bored, tired and antsy easily, so she was a mess for a lot of the trip.
@TallMomma29 Me and both DDs get car sick so we could never make that trip without serious meds and tons of stops.

im mobile right now so tagging is annoying but in reference to car trip, Im a FTM but my parents took us on road trips a lot! We used to go to about 10 hours with a few gas breaks and snack breaks. We'd bring along our nintendo (ipad these days, lol) and we'd be ok!

Taking it pretty easy this weekend. Originally planned a garage sale to empty out the spare room that will become nursery but really haven't tackled it. It's top to bottom storage overflow from when we moved in last summer (if you close the door it's easy to forget about it) so it's really overwhelming.
DH was gone all morning for CPR training and is now napping so I've got a quiet house to job hunt.
