I'll get us started... Our house is an absolute train wreck, and I fully intended to pick up and clean today. But I seriously feel like this baby girl is sucking the life out of me and just breathing and being conscious is about all I can handle. I'll probably run around like crazy for 30 min before MH gets home so I don't look like a total bum!
Oh and #2, I'm supposed to have maternity pics tonight. The rain forecast is up to 80%. She told me this morning we'll make the call 2 hours out. I'm now kind of hoping we have to reschedule. I'm just not in the mood to get dolled up this afternoon.
I slept great last night (compared to how I have been sleeping- still got up 3 times to pee and once for some Tums, but I'll take it as a win) and woke up happy that my son had slept well. He's been going through what I think is the 18 month sleep regression and wakes up multiple times in the night whining or babbling.
Well...then I noticed the baby monitor volume had been turned all the way down. I don't feel all that guilty, since it was my son who had turned it down- he likes anything with buttons and often plays with the monitor in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. I feel slightly like a jerk for having my baby on mute while I slept....but it was a quality night's sleep. Also, he was smiley and happy this morning, so no permanent damage appears to have been done.

@kayemjay2 at the peds clinic I did my NP clinicals with, the NP used to tell parents who were complaining about MOTN feeds/waking on kids over 12 months, "They will be ok. Turn off the monitor. Get some sleep." Obviously this applies to well-contained children who aren't a safety risk, but I think it's great that you both got a solid night's rest!
@ShadeofGreen816 - That makes me feel better! I do go back and forth on the monitor, since he's almost 18 months, but I think I'd be too nervous to completely go without it at this point. I'm a light sleeper and he often makes what we call "baby zombie" noises in his sleep, which wake me up The only time I really go in is if he wakes up crying and sounds like he's in pain (which happens mostly when a tooth breaks through). I'd feel like a jerk not going in to soothe him in that case.

I think I'm a pretty progressive/liberal/feminist person. I let my son wear pink, I get annoyed with the overly gendered clothing for kids, I hate when people buy my son "boy" toys (even though they are many times his favorites), I hate 95% of clothing available for girls...but...guys...I can't stop dressing my baby in floral clothes and bows. Wtf is wrong with me? Can I blame post pregnancy hormones?
I feel like a horrible FTM. I don't care about this baby's going home outfit, or making the nursery super cute. I have a theme but nothing crazy. I feel like people ask me about these things and I just shrug lol
I get irrationally upset when people don't hold the door for me while right in front of me. Come on PNW, you're supposed to be the chilly but polite ones. I hold doors!
H and I have alternating 9/80 schedules. Usually on fridays we let DS sleep in a little and whoever is off brings him to daycare when he wakes up. Last night I got the first solid night's sleep in ages. I woke up to the sounds of H and DS puttering around the kitchen. I pretended to be asleep so I didn't have to bring him to daycare....and then stayed in bed for another 3 hours just resting. It was glorious
@Kipperoo 100% yes. I'm worried I'll do the same with this baby at first. Blame the hormones and do not feel guilty!! @Jens_Hoes Don't let yourself get sucked into other's standards. Do not feel bad!
My FFFC: I really do not want this baby to come before 37 weeks, but then after that, I really want this baby to come! Sometimes it makes me feel guilty that I'm not one of those moms who wants it to keep cooking forever. But, some moments I do want it to stay in me, just not so much these past few days.
I've completely ditched my shirt and I'm hanging out under an aden & anais swaddle after leaking breastmilk all over the past 2 shirts I've worn. I seem to have an overabundance of milk, but I'm not complaining about that.

I am very excited to meet my girl, but I really hope I get at least a week of maternity leave so I can read The Handmaid's Tale and catch up on my Netflix queue.
Today was my last day of work. I'm going to stay at home for now so now we are a one income family. I only feel slightly bad about having 3ish weeks off to myself when I could have kept working.
I let DD finish the bottom (mostly watered down) of my Starbucks while out shopping because she was being good and honestly I didn't feel like walking over to the trash
@Jens_Hoes I was the same way with my son. The theme ohhh um blue browns and tans. People thought I was nuts. @kns1988 you can hand express before labor for relief that's my lc said for this baby. I haven't felt the need but she sent me material on it. @MiaQuiche84 did you see on Hulu the handmaids tale is a tv series? @BabyMC517 I've been terrible this pregnancy with the vitamins
@Yiggle09, Thanks, I'm going to try that next time. I didn't want to pump before his feeding time in case I pumped too much, but it was out of control.

@kns1988 I've completely lost track of the babies in and out! Sorry
Oh, I misread your post and thought you were recommending hand expressing before a feeding, which is still a good recommendation! Haha I'm going to try it.
