2. How is it going?
Water: eh
Low carb: Actually way better than I thought it would! We had a day off/out yesterday so it didn't happen and my body felt the difference
3. What is a small win from last week? I stuck with the low carb thing all week and I'm proud of myself. I felt great!
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week!
I actually made this tonight! Delish and super quick and easy!
1. Working on drinking more water and eating more lean protein and veggies/less take-out and quick food.
2. Decent... hubby is off work for a bit and having him home makes it hard to stay motivated in the healthy eating category. I just want to go out every night!
3. Small win from last week.... eating a healthy lunch at work all day
4. Planning on making this tomorrow or Thursday...

Yes bc mental health is health right?
But then I'm not sure how many ladies will be on the same page (see what I did there) with their check ins though since it's typically more workout related.
Based on other threads today, it seems there are a decent amount of readers here though. Maybe do a weekly book thread?? (Please don't take this as a "you can't sit with us" response. I think there would be more reading traffic if it were separate!)
Not sure what the other ladies would think?

@50Wife That recipe looks great! I love skinnytaste. The baked chicken parm on there is in our regular rotation. And good for you for sticking with low carb this week! That's a tough goal to be able to succeed at IMO.
@sarelizr That dinner also looks great. Give me all the sheet pan dinners! I love them!
1. Exercise and healthier eating
2. Good! I got in a 3 mile power walk/ jog today. I also meal prepped a bunch of healthy foods last night. Buuuuut then I ate a ton of cheese dip and chips with my healthy dinner tonight (that I got from the store today when I shopped while hungry). Whoopsies.
3. A small win from last week was that I worked out 3 days- outdoor walk/ run, Brazilian Butt Lift video, and abs video. Which is amazing because usually it's nothing.
4. I made the sheet pan dinner last night and will do the chili tomorrow:
https://gimmedelicious.com/2016/03/22/15-minute-healthy-roasted-chicken-and-veggies/
https://iowagirleats.com/2014/01/13/crock-pot-sweet-potato-and-quinoa-turkey-chili/
Skinnytaste is my go to, I love all of her recipes!
Both of yours look really good, going to save them to add maybe next week
2. Eating better has been the hardest for me. I've been either hitting my step goal or activity time (with yoga) for the last week, and did yoga for 4 or the last 7 days. After my BW on Saturday showed high albumin (indicates dehydration), I've been increasing my water intake, which has been going ok so far. To be fair, I was probably dehydrated from drinking Friday night.
3. Starting yoga again! I have been paying for YogaGlo since January, but didn't use it at all for 2 months. I turned our someday nursery into a yoga room, and I've been using that as the intention for my practice. That bit is a little crunchy for me, but if it reminds me to stay positive, that can't be a bad thing.
4. GTKY: I made a salad today from some odds and ends I found in my kitchen, and it turned out great! Spinach, sugar snap peas, craisins, walnuts and balsamic vinegarette. Also had a chobani yogurt to round out out.
@50wife, that sound delicious!
@kbamomma33, I'm so sorry for your loss. I saw your posts in the benched thread, as I just left from there myself last week. We're happy to have you here. If people are interested again, we could start another TTCAL check-in (I know there is another board, but different people tend towards one board or the other). We've missed it the last few weeks.

1. What healthy habit are you working on? I am really trying to focus on drinking more water because I suck at it. I also signed up for a bootcamp fitness program that starts on Monday. EEK!
2. How is it going? The water thing is hard!! I've been trying to just bring my water bottle everywhere, so I think I'm doing better than normal. I had my assessment for bootcamp on Saturday and is it too embarrassing to admit that I'm still a little sore?? I should clarify that I am EXTREMELY out of shape.
3. What is a small win from last week? The assessment started with a mile run and I ran the whole thing without stopping to walk so I'm pretty proud of that. Also I did 35 squats in a minute! I mean my legs were angry afterwards, but whatever.
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week!
I don't usually do recipes. More like buy ingredients and throw them together. That being said, this is one of my favorites. Obviously just don't add the insane amount of cheese to make it healthy.
https://www.thepinningmama.com/easy-fajita-chicken-bake-recipe/
@sarelizr that recipe looks so good!! Definitely just pinned it and will probably make that this week too!

@Amphibious22 Welcome! That's great that you ran a whole mile without stopping to walk! I think that's pretty impressive as I def can't run a whole mile without slowingvto power walk at least some. And fitness boot camp! Sounds cool but scary! I'm interested to hear how it goes.
2. How is it going? I'm trying to start out in moderation. I get big aspirations, and try to do too much at once and then it totally backfires. Today I'm really fighting junk breakfast cravings (pastries/donuts). And yesterday while running an errand over lunch, I REALLY wanted to swing by somewhere and grab fast food lunch, even tho I already had a protein bar and veggies.
3. What is a small win from last week? Last week was a really bad week
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week!
Supper time has become a battle time. Between school stuff and karate, we're always on the run, and it's so much easier to just make a pizza. I'm holding myself accountable for making healthy dinners. I'm going to make this one tomorrow:
https://www.chelseasmessyapron.com/slow-cooker-tex-mex-qunioa-casserole/#_a5y_p=1762011
@icecubeinthedesert mmmm your salad sounds amazeballs. sugar snap peas are my current obsession.
@Amphibious22 wait wait wait... one sentence you say you're super out of shape, the next you say you ran a whole mile without walking. You need to give yourself serious credit! You're in way better shape than I am for sure!
@kbamomma33 I'm sorry for your loss.
Sweet potato chili is a staple in our house. we love the balance of sweet and spicy. It freezes really well, so you can make a double batch and then it's ready to reheat another time.

@sarelizr I have the same problem with DH. He would rather eat out and when we do it's rarely a healthy choice.
@kbamomma33 Great job on your walk and meal prepping. Don't let a little set back slow you down!
@icecubeinthedesert I'm not a huge salad fan, but even I'll say your salad does sound yummy!
@Amphibious22 Good luck at your bootcamp class. Let us know how it goes!
@AliW220 Breakfast is the hardest meal for me because I literally only like the bad things! Good job resisting!
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Eating better, working out more
2. How is it going? Guys, I suck. Every morning I get dressed and my clothes feel tight, or I don't look the way I want in an outfit and I have the motivation to go to the gym and get a workout in. But by 2pm I have lost that motivation and all I want to do it go home and sit. I don't know what to do to make myself go to the gym. Going before work isn't an option because the gym doesn't open early enough. I used to go straight from work to the gym, but with the dog that isn't an option. Once I get home, it hard to go back out.
3. What is a small win from last week? Literally none.
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week! Last week, we did Blue Apron for three meals. This week, we are trying Home Chef, which will be delivered today. So all of my recipes will be coming from there.

Eating low carb with MH
2. How is it going?
Umm not the best. I'm going pretty good the past few days, but this weekend was a total bust for both me and hubby. And to make it worse, I've felt bloated all week so I just feel like whale.
3. What is a small win from last week?
Umm I really can't think of a win right now.
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week!

Pretty much obsessed with this recipe. I make it at least once a week, but turn it into a meal by adding taco meat.
@SoldiersMom we tried HomeChef last summer and really liked the recipes. It was just a bit overpriced for us to do it all the time.
@Amphibious22 Yum that Fajita recipes does look delicious! I'll have to give it a try.
@SoldiersMom how did you like blue apron? Let us know what you think of home chef. I've been wanting to add a box of some sort back into our rotation.

Busy day, so mostly P&G, but I wanted to check in and respond to some of you!
@50Wife Congrats on sticking with low carb! Hopefully this is the plan for you.
@kbamomma33 Of course you’re welcome to check in here! You’re kicking butt working out! I’m impressed
@icecubeinthedesert I’m glad you decided to check in! I’m glad you’re sticking with your yoga and found an intention that resonates with you
@Amphibious22 Welcome! Good luck at boot camp!
@AliW220 Eating 1 caramel egg instead of 2 is totally small win worthy. Good for you for taking it one step at a time. Good luck sticking with it!
@SolidersMom I totally get how leaving the house is hard. Is there any way to do some home practice in the morning? That way, even if you don’t make it to the gym, you still got a workout in?
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Daily yoga, clean eating, complex carbs only, no added sugar, no dairy.
2. How is it going? It’s going *shrug* I finished my first 30-day yoga challenge and now I’m on day 5 of Yoga Camp with Adriene. DH and I went grocery shopping yesterday and it was more depressing than anything. My diet at this point is water, fruit, veggies, eggs, baked chicken, walnuts, and hummus with whole wheat pita for a treat. It’s killing me. But with each passing day, I see more and more signs that my T is still rising. It’s just depressing.
3. What is a small win from last week? Finishing my first 30-day challenge was a nice win. I also lost 5 lbs, but that’s not so much a win in my book because my weight was fine. Now I'm worried that I'm going to lose too much, or that I won't have the energy to work out as much as I need to.
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week! Not really doing recipes anymore, so I got nothing for you here.

@50Wife @sarelizr @icecubeinthedesert @Amphibious22 I used to be bad with the water thing in the past and finally feel like I've come to a good place there by obsessively tallying how many water glasses I have per day, and forcing one large one down immediately before coffee (a struggle) and another immediately after dinner. Sorry if I already mentioned this in a previous version of this thread--I can't remember.
@JennyColada I have been terrible at reading anything that isn't articles on the internet lately so count me out for now, but judging by the current randoms thread I think a lot of ladies here would be on board with a book thread.
@SoldiersMom We got a free coupon for Home Chef from my friend who swears by it and we like their recipes a lot. I think their policy on stalling deliveries is better than Blue Apron. We didn't end up sticking with it ultimately because I don't like that they don't have an organic option and I'm kind of obsessively organic-focused and into my farmer's market, but I still use some of their recipes with my own ingredients and was surprised how much I liked them.
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Working out more/eating low carb/low sugar/low gluten, want to lose a few lbs but do it in a healthy way so it doesn't jeopardize TTC
2. How is it going? Bad. Ate out A LOT when my family was in town and then got sick and then had a brief unexpected visit with other family last weekend and ate out again. MH and I just cannot shake this cold (or possible flu) for the life of us and I can't even tell you how much effort my 30 minute forcersize on the elliptical took this morning, except that it made me feel like I'm 90.
3. What is a small win from last week? Apart from eating out with family I "mostly" stuck to the diet. Definitely having an issue with getting more hungry when I eat healthier though.
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week! I often make a really easy salad that I adapted from a recipe years ago--basically you just mix wasabi, olive oil, lemon juice, and grated parmesan for the dressing and then put whatever you want in the salad. Garbanzo beans and baked chicken go well with it. People who aren't into wasabi think they will hate it but as long as you don't go overboard you can't taste the wasabi in the end.
eta spelling fail
Hope you guys are ok if I jump in here - I was active on this board up until a few months ago (I belong on the infertility side now boo). But this thread is right up my alley!
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Exercise (I'd say more exercise but that would imply I already exercise some), and healthy breakfasts
2. How is it going? It was going great the first week I decided to start exercising, but as it always happens with my motivation it only lasted a week haha. I found the popsugar fitness channel on youtube so I made a playlist that I hope to use at least three times this week. So far it's been zero times, but it's only Wednesday!
Also I've been eating muffins for breakfast at work because I'm too lazy to make anything in the morning. My DH used to make me smoothies but he went vegan and now doesn't eat yogurt which means I'm responsible for my own breakfasts which means I haven't been making them. A goal for next week!
3. What is a small win from last week? I managed to keep a (mostly) vegetarian diet while on vacation last weekend, which is a victory for me!
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week! We use Hello Fresh 3 days of the week (I like it better than Blue Apron, the recipes are simpler and generally take less time to make). The other days of the week we generally eat out. Cooking is hard after work

2. How is it going? Really well! I went from drinking 1-2 a day to one every other day or every 2 days. Not quite the "cold turkey" I was hoping for, but I'm still pleased with my progress. I'm also drinking more water, which is a real win for me.
3. What is a small win from last week? I bought two S'Well bottles to encourage me to drink more water. So pretty!

@SoldiersMom - Having a gym buddy really helps keep me accountable. I feel like I let my friend down if I don't work out with her, so that keeps me going. Plus we get to visit for a good hour, so I feel like I'm just talking while we make each other work out. I HATE exercise just for the sake of exercising - I need some kind of goal to be able to do it. Right now the goal is being fit for a trip that will involve lots of walking.

@RatParade Re: breakfasts- I make this healthy oatmeal muffin recipe all the time. There is literally nothing bad in them. And they are GOOD. I bet you could add protein powder too, if you wanted. You could just make a big pan on Sunday night and then just grab one or two and go in the mornings:

I loved 21 day fix...they're 25-30 min daily and something different for each day of the week (plus Autumn is tiny with big fake boobs and really gives you something to work towards
Beach body has different types of workouts too. They more recently released country heat which is like a Zumba for country? I hate country but thought about it for something different.
Comcast has workouts on demand too so you could test out a few things and see what you like?
Just my input...as I sit on my ass after work.
@vflux33 Those are good tips for water consumption! I think trying to drink a whole water bottle before each meal has been helping me to stay on track.
That being said, today was a crap day eating wise. I went to see my friends brand new baby and got so emotional afterwards (infertility problems..) that I came home and binged on gelato and cheetos.

1. What healthy habit are you working on? Drinking more water & working out regularly.
2. How is it going? Usually the working out is going well and the water is a challenge, but this week it's the opposite due to a cold. I' chugging water like crazy becasue of my cough and sore throat, but the working out took a bit of a hit.
3. What is a small win from last week? I find it really hard to motivate myself to cook dinner when DH has class, becasue I'll be eating alone. Last week I made dinner every night anyway, so that's good!
4. GTKY: Share a healthy recipe you'll make this week! I'm not doing anything complicated this week...chicken cesar salad one night, last night was tacos. Tonight is bacon & jalapeno mac and cheese (not at all healthy) to celebrate DH's thesis presentation. I'm a terrible person for this question...
@kbamomma33 Show me your meal prepping ways!! I wish I could get my life together enough to make it work for me.
@icecubeinthedesert What is YogaGlo? Also, way to turn down that cannoli like a boss!
@Amphibious22 The water thing is SO hard! I don't even know why!
@SoldiersMom Sorry you had a rough week! Finding motivation to get to the gym is hard for me, too. It's been easier for me to make myself workout now that we have a treadmill though. We got it for super cheap at a garage sale.
@LoveInDC I have no good advice for this, but I'm sorry to hear that it seems that you T is still rising.
@sunniegrly Yay for your diet coke win!
@RatParade Yay for sticking mostly to your vegetarian diet!
@vflux33 Getting a cold definitely makes things difficult!
