Was someone on here talking about a FB group for babies with glasses? My friend just found out her kid needs glasses and I was trying to remember the name of the group for her. The bump search capabilities blow.
@hp_momma H has a ball at home. I'll start doing that every evening. Whats crazy is I HAVE dropped a little, but yes, so many "you're so high!" comments. I am, its true. I've heard labor can be rough when baby refuses to really engage.
I want to get a yoga ball, but we literally have no where to keep it. : ( Our apartment is in a 1940's building and unfortunately this means virtually no closets or storage (they didn't have as much "stuff" back then!!). I fear it would just be a hazard and in my way all the time...
@luckywife10 Yes, you can request a new nurse, but like @WombThereItIs said I'd wait to see how things go that day. If you do get that nurse, she may be different in labor. Nurses have bad/good days, too. But also, you might be surprised what you want/need from a labor nurse at the time, and she might be adaptable. Also, if they can't switch nurses right away, you don't want to create undue animosity if unnecessary. But, I hope you get a different nurse so you don't even have to worry about it!
Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. My MFM has assured me that pain meds are totally fine, especially at this point in the pregnancy but I didn't even take a Tylenol during my pregnancy with DS so this has been quite an adjustment. I'm also really, really bad at just relaxing and doing nothing so this whole process is just hard.
@kayemjay2 sorry about the sleep regression! Those are so tough! FX it's quick!
@luckywife10 as others have said, I would wait and see how it goes. My nurses weren't around that much during my labor with DS so even if I really didn't like one I don't think it would have been worth it.
@nda_roxybabe DS was super high and I don't think he ever dropped before labor. Labor was pretty quick and easy (14 hours total).

I did mention one. It's called Little Four Eyes.

Thanks for the input on labor nurses! I agree, I'll wait and see how things go with the nurse I get. It's very possible the nurse we met with was having an off day.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot that's so cool about your hospital! My friend used a peanut ball during her induction as well and she progressed quickly as well.
I may be getting a little tired of how lazy my H has been while I try to do stuff everyday for baby and made a list called "Sh*t to do before baby". Let's see how this works...I'm guessing poorly.

My H is the opposite right now and last week requested I please not have the baby until after the weekend so we could get some stuff done. Well, I guess I succeeded?

I feel you! We lived in a multiplex building that's 100 years old. The lack of storage does suck, we don't even have a pantry! I kept the box for my yoga ball and I just use it for the last few weeks of pregnancy and then deflate it and put it back in the box under my bed for storage!

@BabyMC517 - Hs and their knowledge of when/how a baby will be born! When ours was breech my H kept talking about a c-section even though I told him time and again that baby flipping was the most likely thing to happen. He also told his parents baby was coming early because he measured up to 3 weeks ahead most of the time, even though again I told him that was unlikely since our 2 other kids were born close to their EDDs. Men!

I can relate. DH finally got around to clearing his shit out of the baby's room yesterday. He's found time to build a computer, shop for a new TV and receiver, set them up, move the current TV and receiver to our bedroom, and move some furniture to carry out those tasks. Oh and he decided to start looking into how our speakers are wired in the attic. We bought our house in 2011 so the speaker wiring can certainly wait a little longer. No chat needed. I think my body language said it all! I'm glad he finally got around to some of my todo list, but I feel bad...something between a drill sergeant and a slave driver. He's known this baby is coming and I've been asking him for help. Now I just wish we could have some quality time before the baby's arrival.

@hp_momma that's a great idea! We actually have a nice garage/storage option, I could put it down there after. OK I think I'll spring for it! I can imagine it would feel amazing right now. My pelvis is...oy.
@rainydays86 - sorry recovery isn't going great. I hope it starts smoothing out for you.
@nda_roxybabe- just want to add a +1 to anyone who said not to worry too much about the baby being high. My water broke with DS naturally, and he was so high that I wasn't dilated even 1cm. I did end up having to get Pitocin, which wasn't ideal, but the actual process of labor really wasn't that bad. I only had contractions that were strong enough to be painful for about an hour before I got my epidural. Then once I got the green light to push, he was out in less than 30 minutes.
@absbubbs - I loaaaaaathe the excuse "I didn't know where it goes and I didn't want to put it in the wrong place". I accidentally lost my cool on H the other day when he said that. I told him we've lived in our house for almost 4 years, so I think it's time he starts learning and stop whining. Whoops.

@absbubbs@ChristinaWild Ha! Sometimes I use that excuse when loading the dishwasher... but no seriously. He should know where the baby clothes and other stuff go.
We have a white board on our fridge where we have an ongoing to do list or to buy (online/major purchases only) list. Some of them may be specificially under my name and some under his but typically we both try to tackle whatever needs to be done. This has helped us a ton although we do have things that would sit there forever but they're usually low priority. He absolutely hates me nagging or reminding him what needs to be done so this has helped us a ton with a big decrease in nagging
Also for baby dropping... I never noticed with my first! I dont think she really did until the end because I was dilated to 10 by 5pm but she didn't finally come out until 730ish. She was still high up for awhile. I havent noticed any dropping with this lo either in spite of a lot of pelvis pressure. Now I'm actually wondering, how do you know? Photos? The way you carry lo? I feel silly as a stm ha
This may be just the most stupid/trivial question I've asked on here. In regards to wipes, does anyone have an opinion on refilling wipes into a plastic tub vs buying wipes with the soft package and plastic top?
@starphish18 - I only use the soft pack swith plastic top - don't EVER get a kind that just has a sticky, peel top... those packs are garbage! The only think I can think about having a plastic tub is that it seems like it would be an extra step.
@starphish18 I use the soft disposable package of wipes for my diaper bag. I use a tub in the nursery, mainly because I buy wipes in bulk (Costco or the huge boxes at Target) and they only come in large bags that you use to refill the plastic tubs.
Married 03.09.09 Sweet Baby H 12.21.11 Sassy Baby P 03.26.14 Little Brother Due 05.22.17
@starphish18 I have just two of the hard tubs. One in DDs room and one on our kitchen table. I get a large multipacks of pampers sensitive wipes and put them in the one in her room since I prefer those on her bottom. And now that were in a multistory home, we keep an extra soft pack in our ottoman with some spare diapers although that is changing with potty training and the pack n play being set up with a changing pad station. Then I get these large packs of huggies wipes that doesn't have a flip top thing for the kitchen, for post meal cleanups.
I either stock up with Target has a sale or order wipes from Amazon. I refill a plastic tub in the nursery, but then I just throw the plastic bags with the lids in the diaper bag and I always keep one in the car.
@pshaortao I've always noticed on others from the way they look. My belly has been so high up ("right under your chest" "smooshing your lungs" "a shelf" according to everyone, true) that I noticed when it dropped a little and I'd definitely notice if it really dropped. Plus I imagine I'd start feeling that "Bowling ball" head between my legs feeling.
This may be just the most stupid/trivial question I've asked on here. In regards to wipes, does anyone have an opinion on refilling wipes into a plastic tub vs buying wipes with the soft package and plastic top?
I buy the refills for the tub and home, and use the soft packages with plastic tops for the diaper bag.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
@starphish18 - I get whatever is on sale so I always keep a Pampers and a Huggies tub on hand in case whatever sale I come across on is a refill pack but I personally prefer the soft disposable package ones because I can throw them in the diaper bag easily without having to worry about putting them in one of those little wipe plastic clutches.

@starphish18 I've gotten a lot of wipes as baby gifts. After those are used up, I plan on reusing the plastic tubs the wipes come in to make my own wipes.
So I ended up going back to birth center today (went yesterday for back pain and pelvic pressure, was having contractions unbeknownst to me, 3 cm dilated), getting another cervical check and monitor for contractions and baby. Good news: no cervical change. Bad news: still having contractions. They told me to take it easy, call if it gets more intense, but otherwise I see them again tomorrow for my scheduled appointment, where they'll do it all again. My anxiety is pretty heightened, because if nothing changes I can't go to work Wed/Thurs, but if I'm better I can, so I can't do anything until tomorrow night. In the mean time, I'm "taking it easy" which is actually the last thing I want to do. I reorganized our junk drawers, did some dishes, and finished Harvey Karp's "Happiest Baby on the Block". Now what? This is probably not the most appropriate place for this post, but I started talking about it in last week's randoms.
@kns1988 How are you doing? ETA: saw your post in the labor thread. You'll do great no matter what happens!
@ChristinaWild@vrj0522 I had the same talk with my DH, so last night he helped by putting laundry away. I found my bathing suit in the same drawer as my underwear this morning Not even close to where I usually put it...at least he tried
@jayandaplus FX the rest does the trick and your appointment tomorrow goes well. Hang in there!
@starphish18 this is where we talked about yoga balls, right? Lol anyway mine is 65 cm and I'm 5'5. it seems to lose some of its air faster like PPs have mentioned but probably just depends on the ball.

Feel like such a post and ghost-er today. Work was busy, I was exhausted by the time I got home.
I basically got everything ready for the Baby this weekend, just need the rocker and a cover for the changing pad and I'm good to go! It's crazy it's all happening. Almost doesn't feel real. I wish I could be done with work now without it eating into my 12 weeks FMLA
@jayandaplus I'm not sure reorganizing and doing dishes constitutes as taking it easy Have a sit, watch Father of the Bride Part 2 (a favorite), browse pinterest, Bump, paint your nails...
