Re: 3rd Tri Weekly Check-in - Week of April 24th
I'm currently 39 weeks and hoping this is my last week being pregnant. I've been having good days and bad days and I'm just taking it a day at a time. If I'm tired or sore, I'll happily lounge around all day and take naps. If I feel like I have the energy, I'll clean or organise or go for a walk. I'm trying to listen to my body and rest up as much as possible before baby arrives and life gets a lot more busier.
QOTW: I've had this feeling a couple of times. My most recent one was yesterday, I was sitting on the lounge, eating dinner and watching TV when I thought "my god our lives are about to change dramatically!" There will be another tiny human here to look after and watching tv show after tv show is probably not going to be happening very often! For me and DH, watching a show together is usually how we unwind after our day, I'm not sure how our wind-down time is going to look when baby arrives. BUT I cannot WAIT to meet my baby boy and start this next chapter of our lives as a little family of 3!
I said this in last weeks board, but I just wanted to repeat my well wishes for you @babylonghorn16 - cannot wait to hear your news!
@flanners1 how are you feeling leading up to your c-section?
Me & DH - 31

EDD 1st May 2017 *Baby Boy*
QOTW: We had our "sh*t just got real" moment this past weekend when we took our DD to her big sibling class at the hospital. They gave us a tour of the new mother/baby unit there and we got to see a day old new baby being brought to the nursery. I was like - OMG that baby is so tiny! Is it even real? I'm gonna have one of those pretty soon??!!! I think DH got the same feeling because he took us out to lunch after the class and said we don't have too many more chances to go out before the baby comes. Even though I've been through it all before, you forget how small and helpless new babies are, especially since it's been almost 5 years for us since DD was born.
BFP Oct 2011 - DD born July 2012
TTC again since July 2014
First IUI 9/26/16: BFP!
EDD 6/19/2017
It's a girl!
Born 6/26/17, 9lb 5oz
It's really weird to have a c section date. I don't know if it's worse to not know when baby will come, or if it's worse to know the exact date and time?
One thing I do know: I will miss this bump. As much as it's difficult to move and getting uncomfortable, I love having baby girl with me all the time and feeling her and knowing I can protect her 100%. But then of course, I just can't wait to meet this new tiny person...
@babylonghorn16 I'm thinking of you today. So exciting!
@kdanjou seeing newborns at our hospital tour was also the moment I was seriously in awe about how tiny and defenceless they are. Can't believe we will be holding one ourselves soon. How was the big sibling class for your DD? What do they talk about there? Great they offer something like that!
QOTW: I don't know if it's really hit me yet. I will probably have a meltdown on the way to c section on Friday morning! Ha! I just cannot imagine how life will be, how it will be to bring back a new human being, how everything will change...
TTC since March 2015 with known PCOS and MIF
IVF in 2015. FET nr 3 in 2016 - BFP. Healthy baby girl born in April 2017.
Trying for nr 2
The sibling class was ok, they talked about how to swaddle and diaper (which DD will not be doing but whatever), and the correct way to hold a baby. The kids made cards to welcome their new sibs and they watched a movie about what newborn babies are like.
BFP Oct 2011 - DD born July 2012
TTC again since July 2014
First IUI 9/26/16: BFP!
EDD 6/19/2017
It's a girl!
Born 6/26/17, 9lb 5oz
@teriulbricht It's getting so close for you! So exciting! This board is about to explode with babies and I can't wait
I'm 34+2 today and just kind of coasting along for now. At times I feel like I have energy and can get stuff done, and other times (like now) I just completely hit a wall and can barely move. I have to go to work in 2 hours too so that should be interesting. I have 3 weeks left in the office before I start my maternity leave. I'm really looking forward to have a couple of weeks at home before baby comes so I can just rest and nest.
Next appointment is on Friday (NST + OB appointment) and then on Sunday we're having our maternity photos taken! I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what to wear. I think I'll bring 2 outfits so that I have some different looking photos.
QOTW: It definitely REALLY hit me this past weekend during our labor and birth education class. Watching videos of babies being born and placed on the mother's chest made me tear up. I am now completely obsessed with that moment and I keep thinking of how that is going to be me soon. I just keep imagining it over and over in my mind like it's on repeat or something. It really amazes me that my little girl will be placed on my chest soon. Crazy!!
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014
IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs
IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos
FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17
FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
Anxiously awaiting @babylonghorn16 update!
I am 29+5 with boy/girl twins, I have a sono tomorrow that I am very excited for! I want to see my babies and make sure my cervix is okay. I've been feeling pretty normal, but def staring to feel uncomfortable and big. I got my nails done this week and there was a 38 week pregnant lady there and I was just as big as her lol
my nursery is making progress
QOTW: I have been having those moment for a few weeks now. Some days it feels surreal that I'm pregnant, like it's just a state of being. But then there are moments where I realize that this is REAL and we are having two babies! I was laying in bed a week ago and was stareing at the empty space next to my bed and began thinking, wow soon there will be a bassinet with two infants laying right beside me. I def went to bed smiling that night.
Just last night my husband had his moment and came into our bedroom while I was getting into pajamas and said "I just realized that we aren't going to have many more nights like this one" I wasn't sure what he meant so I asked why. He responded "in a few weeks we will have two babies to take care of. We can't just come home from dinner, get out of our car and come get changed into pajamas. We will have two car seats to carry in, and two babies to get into their pajamas and feed them and put them to bed first"
it was super cute how it just hit him out of no where. I feel like it's been less real for him since he isn't carrying them, so I'm happy that he is starting to prepare!

I'm starting to relax after the stress of the last few weeks. My little one has been a bit less violent in her movements but far more regular. My pregnancy book tells me that's normal as she had less room to thrash about.
I'm still on weekly CTG reading to listen to her heartbeat and every week that my cervix holds tight is a week closer to a healthy baby.
I feel fine until I try and do anything and then even a short walk really takes it out of me (which is all the exercise I've been doing anyway with my paranoia about my cervix!). I'm actually sleeping better than I have been for the last few weeks probably because I'm not worrying so much!
All going to plan I've got 7 weeks of work left and 4 of those are short weeks! So only three 5 day weeks left! We had a weekend visiting my in-laws and friends which was lovely and possibly the last time we will go up there before baby arrives as it's a 4.5 hour drive each way and my cervix put me at risk for pre-term birth. I'd hate to go into labour up there and not have my midwife to calm me down!
QOTW: I'm really not sure I've realised that this is all real yet. Every morning I wake up and feel like it's all a dream and then she kicks me!

I think because of my work schedule I'm still fairly in denial about the whole childbirth and baby thing, haha. Like, how can it possibly be real when I haven't had time to pack my hospital bag or put the nursery together beyond "here's a bunch of furniture in vaguely the right spot, and here are a bunch of boxes with baby stuff in them." There's a bassinet by my side of the bed but it has computer equipment and books associated with work in it! Luckily there's no indication that this baby is coming early--I suspect things will fall into place soon.
Best of luck @babylonghorn16!! I remember you so clearly from the IF boards, it's amazing that you're at this stage now!
And @flanners1 very excited for you!!

QOTW: It started hitting me last weekend after our childbirth class that we will have a baby soon. I've also got some great deals on items from a local buy/sale group so we actually have baby items now that make it more real.
@flanners1 you're so close!!!! I can't imagined how you feel!
@beckij34 atleast he is a healthy size! What should he weigh around now?
I had my sono today. Apparently my cervix was a 2.5 last time, not the best but not the worst. They wanted to watch it but not be alarmed by it. This time she did an external and it looked same. She is having me come back Friday for an internal (something about insurance and two sono's in one day not being covered) so we can be get a better meausurement.
Otherwise, The sono went great. The babies look healthy; both are 2 pounds 15 ounces.
My little girl is already a diva
3 hour glucose test in the am...Oh joy!!
my nursery furniture is 80% together! Just missing the glider and bookcase! I love how it's coming out so far! I'll try to upload photos but the website has been giving me issues.

@flanners1 I have no idea where the time has gone! It seems like ages ago that I went through all the IVF stuff but also like it was just yesterday! Yeah I don't know which I'd prefer, the knowing when it'll all unfold or all this waiting around. I go through stages of "get this baby outta me!" and also times when I'm happy to just be waiting.
@wifeinraleigh28 I still go through days of no energy and days where I just want to get things done! It took me a little bit to realise that it was ok to sit and relax on the days I had no energy but now I just take it as it comes. Fortunately I'm already on leave so I have a bit more flexibility in that respect. Oooh maternity photos. I never really did that but they always look so good! And yes! I'm obsessed with that first moment too! It plays over and over in my head about what it will feel like and I just can't wait.
@Colleen0516 glad your nursery is coming together! I can't imagine what it would feel like to know that TWO babies are coming soon! Ha, I know exactly how you husband feels! You could always change into your PJs and then look after the babies.. at least you'll be doing in comfortably! I hope your internal sono is ok on friday, and I hope you're doing ok? Good luck with the glucose test! I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours.
@nellin-2 good to hear your not stressing as much these days. It must be hard to not worry or think about it! Yay for almost finishing up work! It was the biggest countdown for me, I could not wait! Glad you were able to fit in one last visit with in-laws and friends! We had a big drive the other week and I used it as a practice run, had the hospital bag packed and in the car etc it actually made me get my butt into gear and finish packing the bag! Haha I also have that moment in the morning, wake up, go to roll over, oh thats right I have a huge stomach cos I'm PREGNANT
@cato99 those aches and pains! I hope you'll be able to finish off those last minute bits and pieces and have time to relax before LO gets here!
@mjacks16 good luck with the glucose test, I hope it all goes well. So jealous of your acupuncture. My acupuncturist stopped practising right after I did IVF and I haven't found a good one around here. What date is your baby shower? It's so good your mum will be able to be there for it.
@beckij34 ah my growth ultrasound also showed that my guy was measuring ahead, I haven't had one since so I'm not sure how big he will be when he gets here. All I know is my measurements have all been on track so if he is larger than normal he must be squished in there. Hopefully the meds will help slow his growth and he'll turn soon! Ooh, baby shower next weekend! How exciting!
@rmarble23 Glad to hear your GD isn't playing up and you were able to enjoy that wedding! You have a baby shower coming up also!! YAY!

@Colleen0516 glad the scan went well, good luck for the 3 hour test and internal scan. Did you have to fast for your 1 hour test? I didn't have fast to but my midwife told me not to have breakfast because it's very sensitive to carbs so you might fail if you just ate toast and them did the teddy.
Good luck to all those with impending due dates/inductions/c-sections!
They told me he has hair which makes me happy. We are all typically bald babies in my family unless you're on the biracial side. I called the target breast pump hotline yesterday and got that ball rolling. I just have to ask for a prescription to be faxed in tomorrow at my ob appt. One more thing off my Ezra do list. I've got one more package of cloth diapers on the way and then I can start prepping them. My sister thinks I have a slight obsession, lol. I can't wait to meet this little guy. @janejane congratulations on having the twins!! What are their names? Glad they are doing well, but I cant imagine how hard It is on you! I think leaving babies in the NiCu may be harder than labor for a mom. Thinking of you and those two precious boys!!
AFM:
had my internal sono today and it didn't go so great. SHe did the sono and then told me she was going to do an external too (which so said they don't do two types of sono unless it's an emergency), so I knew something was up.
Ps: Both babies looked great!
I asked her what my cervix measurement was and her answer was "the doctor will talk to u" lol another red flag.
turns out my cervix shortened to a 1.9 so I am on modified bed rest. I need to take it easy all weekend, and go back on Monday to check again. I will either need a progesterone shot and see if that works, or be put on modified bedrest. Sooooo we shall see!

EDD 1st May 2017 *Baby Boy*
We have a long class tomorrow and next Saturday called 'bringing home baby' that focuses on the relationship between my husband and I and dealing with stress, etc. Friends of ours called it a marriage saver and highly recommended it, but I'm not overly looking forward to two eight hour days!
We did an infant safety class last week, which was helpful (and a bit eye opening. Who knew babies chewed on extension cords when they're teething??) and are cautiously optimistic that we will figure to take care of baby girl without too much freaking out.
I'll be glad to be done with work. There's a lot of walking with my job (I can have patients anywhere in the medical center I work in, from the 8th floor down to the basement and in several different connected buildings. Lots and lots of walking), and I have mostly given up on the stairs, unless I'm going down or just up one flight.
We've been a bit hectic these last few weeks because my sister came up from out of state and did an egg retrieval cycle. We have 5 embryos growing at the moment and will find out on Sat/Sun how many made it to blast and will be sent for PGS testing. My ovaries have already waved their white flags, so this was our one shot for baby #2. Nothing left to do but wait for fertility clinic updates. Exciting, but stressful. Especially with the timing so close to baby #1's birth!
Chemo killed my ovaries (along with a BRCA1 mutation, which causes DOR)
4/30/13 ER just prior to chemo: 8 embryos frozen at 2pn. 2 survived to blasts/1 PGS normal
4/16 ER cancelled on CD7: 1 follicle on L/ 0 follicles on R
FET #1 7/13/16 BFN
Super shocker +HPT 9/19
Baby Alyce arrived 5/8/17
Went forward with donor eggs from my sister for baby #2
ER 4/24, 5 eggs fertilized/1 survived to blast and was chromosomally normal.
FET 2/15 (my sister/donor's birthday!). Beta 10dp5dt:172; beta 12dp5dt: 425
