@mrs_tacos that is my hope for every idiot who says something like that to/about a pregnant woman. It's like the parents curse. Maybe we could call it the idiots curse?
@mbates87 Thank you. I didn't comment on the other thread, but I wanted to tell you that I think it's incredibly brave and commendable of you to give you husband an ultimatum. For both you and your boys, I really hope he gets healthy! My grandfather was an alcoholic, and to this day my dad and his siblings are still dealing with a lot of the issues it caused. It's hard, but you're doing what's best for your sons, and I really respect that!
I seriously can't believe the things people have said to some of you! I'm just imagining going through that on an "off day" and bursting into tears. I haven't had any comments from strangers (yet) now that I'm actually pregnant but last winter an old woman offered her seat up to me on the train because she though I was. I had gloves in my winter coat pockets and it was right on my belly basically. When I said no thanks, I'm ok, the random guy next to her flat out asked me if I was pregnant. I was so upset and that wasn't even that bad! People have no freaking filters sometimes.
Also, regarding concerts, what's the deal? Can I still go see Hall & Oates in June? I never thought of it being an issue.

@Swazzle You will be fine. The main concern with the baby is making sure you don't get knocked around, or that the decibel aren't crazy loud (from what I've read 100-120 decibels is the threshold, depending on the setting- indoor vs. outdoor, closeness to the speakers, etc). I can't imagine Hall and Oats getting that loud or crazy, so you should be fine! (Also, I'm jealous! I'd love to see them!)
@mrs_tacos@wyomama0427 DH is obsessed with them! It should be a fun time! Good to know the noise isn't dangerous and I definitely don't think Hall & Oates will get too wild.

I was waiting tables several years ago, and a woman said, "you must be due any day now!" "I'm not pregnant."
If she were a decent human being she would have dropped a tip and run away while I was getting them waters. She was not. She did not leave a good tip. And I had many tears.

On the tube in London, I saw several women with a button on their coats with the words "Baby on Board" and the Underground logo on it. Transport for London designed this button especially for this awkward situation. I think it's brilliant, and I wish Boston had something similar so my friend who is due in July could get a seat on her daily commute! (I have to drive since I work in the suburbs.) here is the London button info if you're curious: https://tfl.gov.uk/forms/23479.aspx
@jena333-2 That is so awful. And then she didn't even tip well? What an asshole. I'm sorry!
@divinemsm620 That's a really great idea! Saves the wondering and awful questions. I've been waiting to see how long until someone offers me their seat now that I AM actually pregnant. I don't even NEED to sit as I'm on there for less than 10 minutes but still interesting that I'm almost 5 months in and nothing so far!

My wtf goes to the US place in town. They refuse to do anatomy scans until AFTER 20 weeks. Mines not scheduled until may 15th now. I found an elective place(40 minutes away! ) that will do a sex determination anytime after 16 weeks. It's $100 but kind of W/E about it because I don't want to wait another freaking month.
Really that is so lame. Mine let me schedule it anytime between 19-21. We were impaitient and did a 3D for gender but that cost $50. FYI if baby is being co-operative on a gender only scan, it takes usualy less than 2 mins to find out. From what I remember you are Canadian, check out here. They contract out 3D and have a sale for like $45 if you book before I think May 1st (promo here)
So, early this week I complained because DH's step-dad posted something on Facebook about us having a son. Now, SIL (DH's sister) posted my baby announcement and a picture of tiny suits together with the hashtag auntie. WTF? They seriously have no concept of Facebook etiquette. We still haven't announced that baby's a boy on Facebook. DH needs to have a conversation with his family. I never post anything about anyone else's baby on Facebook anyway and definitely not before I specifically see the parents post it.
My WTF moment of the day... (just realized its bathroom related, as was my TW Tuesday)
I went to the bathroom today, the teacher's bathroom that is used by adults-98% of which are women, and there was brown grossness splattered on the back, and pee and a pubic hair on the seat.

I left both of these notes in one day a few months ago. I was livid.
With the water, the front of my shirt ended up soaked. And with the other.. it was literally ALL OVER the toilet. Even under the bottom of the seat. I work with all adults.
