I HAVE A LEGIT WTF NOW. My OB office just called. They're moving my anatomy scan back a day. Apparently now my doctor won't be there that day. UGH COME ON.
My WTF Wed goes out to my stepson who I adore and was being sweet....
Me: I'm going to be halfway next week. Him: Yay! I'm not surprised though. I can tell. Your belly has gotten WAY bigger.
I told DH who just shook his head and said you should never tell a female any part of her has gotten bigger no matter what the reason and no matter if it's true.
I had lab work done today.. I am seriously concerned that the girl that did it may not have known what she was doing. She asked me three times what my gestational age was and I told her 16+5. It's like she didn't understand what I was saying and said "never mind." Usually when they do my blood work it's really quick. I swear she kept looking at my paperwork and the computer for about 15 minutes.
So I am just praying everything got done properly because this was for my spina bifida testing which is time sensitive and I also did a 24 hour urine sample which I don't want to have to do again this trimester.
My wtf goes to the US place in town. They refuse to do anatomy scans until AFTER 20 weeks. Mines not scheduled until may 15th now. I found an elective place(40 minutes away! ) that will do a sex determination anytime after 16 weeks. It's $100 but kind of W/E about it because I don't want to wait another freaking month.
my wtf is just why the hell is this a thing? why do you think the whole internet wants to know this? She went through 10 years of infertility, and did a gofundme for her IVF (which was an eyebrow raiser for me), and I understand being super excited about a rainbow baby (I've had multiple losses) but this is just excessive. And don't get me started on the punctuation and capitalization issues.
there's so much eye roll i have to her oversharing and really??? to the things she posts. exactly, 9mo and potty training? that in itself excessive.
Sounds like a friend of mine from high school. Her DD is about a month ahead of mine and she was talking about how her daughter was a month shy of 2, fully potty trained, knew her ABCs, and speak in full sentences. I was so tempted to reply with my "2yo can throw a tantrum, that's like the same thing, right?"
@labby18 I was eyerolling all over the place, but I had a hard time reading it because of the capital letter for every word. I will never understand how this happens or why people think it's correct!
It's Hard To Even Type Like This!!!!!!!!! I Just Peed On The Potty yall!! And DH Was On The Phone While I Did it!!!!!!! Seriously though, why even attempt to potty train a 9 month old? I have friends like that, too. Sharing, but really just bragging or something.

But how are you supposed to get everything checked? The anatomy scan checks sooo many things and the sex is just a bonus. I thought the elective places won't do anything diagnostic that the anatomy scan is supposed to determine?

That just seems wrong Sorry they're being dumb
Elective place is not doing the diagnostics- just sex determination. I have my app on May 15th for all the diagnostic imaging. I'm just being impatient with wanting to know the sex. I had my last baby in a different city and things were a lot different there, they did the A/S any time after 18 weeks so I was thrown for a loop that I would have to wait until after 20 here. They were SO rude to me on the phone too. OOh and they wont let my husband come with me either which I find really weird. He has to wait outside the entire time and is only allowed in after everything is done. WTF? he has just as much right to see his developing baby-one of my favourite memories of my last pregnancy was seeing his face as we looked at our son swimming around.

That is very odd they won't let you bring the father of the baby in the room. My husband would be livid!! and so would I! Is this a policy? I would ask to see the written policy and talk with the office manager honestly.
@Souptin I misread your original post as they wouldn't do it after 20 weeks so you wouldn't get one at all. My mistake!
Where I am they don't let my husband in until all measurements are done but they turn the screen away so I can't see anything until then either. It's been like that for all 3 of my pregnancies.
I think since it's a technologist and not a doctor who does it they want to make sure everything is fine before they show you anything. I had my MMC discovered at an US and she had to call the radiologist to talk to me on the phone. They can't give any diagnostic info so they don't want you to see and ask questions if there's something wrong. They should definitely let your DH in after and go through the fun stuff with you together though!

My brother has kids about 18 months apart and before the second was born, his friends were trying to push him to fully potty train their older daughter. They claimed they did it before their second was born (about 16 months apart) and it made life so much easier. Turns out the kid was "potty trained" but basically just didn't wear diapers and continually had accidents in her underwear. My brother was like "um, thanks but no."
@souptin my office has a policy on this too. However, mainly for the actual time you talk with the ob - they find that some women won't share everything if DH/SO is in the room. I would just tell them that he is going to be there as your support person and not give them an option to say no.
My co-worker walked into my office while I was eating lunch and said, it must be hard to focus on sales when you're pregnant. I mean I've never been pregnant, but that must be so distracting - in the most condescending tone, and he is a guy. Then followed with look at that plate everyone, she sure is feeding that baby.
My sales are down this month, mostly because my co-workers took all my leads while I was on out on bedrest...and I haven't gained any weight and have been under pressure from my doctor to eat more consistently.... thanks for making me feel worse about all the things.
Wtf about my garbage pick up. Not the company, but they come really early so I always have to put the garbage and recycling bins out of Tuesday night. Every Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, it's windy. Every. Single. Time. Last night was so windy, I stayed up half the night because it was loud wind but also because I was so paranoid that my recycling was flying all over the neighborhood. Getting up to check would have made sense, right? I didn't. I didn't want to get up.
I'm just really still not over the ice cream situation from Monday bitchfest. He lied. To a pregnant woman.... about ice cream. He's got a death wish for sure
@towntowns What a dick. I hope he gets explosive diharreah.
My wtf is again nosey people who say things to pregnant women. DH and I went to a show last night. I was smart about it: I called ahead to make sure the show wouldn't go over 100 decibels, I was able to sit down, I was in a safe area where I wouldn't get accidentally bumped into, I had plenty of water, etc. I went to the bathroom about halfway through, and this woman was like, "Should you be here in your, uh, condition?" I replied, "Is it any of your business?" And then she said, I kid you not, "Endangering of a child is everyone's business." I nearly lost my shit, you guys. Endangering my child?! You self righteous bitch. Turns out she's never even been pregnant, and she's not a medical professional, so what the hell does she know? Oh, right, her friend didn't go to warped tour because she was pregnant, therefore no pregnant women should go to any show ever.
@mrs_tacos I don't know why I am surprised, but I am constantly surprised at the shit people say. I'll admit before I was ever pregnant, I may have judge some people's choice of activities while pregnant, but more from a "why would you put yourself through that" vs a worry for her or their kid. Ex: microfest (beer drinking event) during August. Just seems like torture not being able to drink. I never would ever voice that to anyone though. Fact of the matter is, there are very few events or places you can go that would endanger the mom or baby. You did far more research than I would have. What a bitch. Bravo for not punching her.
I agree with tacos and hope your coworker gets explosive diarrhea @towntowns what a raging ass. @mrs_tacos all the brownie points to you for not verbally assaulting her.. or physically either for that matter lol! It's ridiculous to me the things people think they can say to pregnant women. Endangering a child. Pffffffft.
I sat down for breakfast at a cafe this morning. An older woman (senior citizen for sure but not OLD old, if that makes sense) first made a comment about how I shouldn't have to squeeze into the booth because it would crush the baby--I wasn't squeezing, thanks very much--and then expressed extreme surprise when I politely answered her question by telling her the baby was due in September. Maybe it's twins, she said, since I'm so big already. "Nope, just one in there, and definitely coming in September." Ugh. Can't imagine what she would have said if I'd told her I was due in LATE September.
@divinemsm620 ugh people suck. One time a lady said something similar, I was 6 months and she goes "Oh wow any day now huh" uh no actually three more months but thanks

I didn't hit her...but I did let her know she was being judgmental, and exactly why it was perfectly fine for me to be there. And I may have said something along the lines of hoping she gets pregnant someday and that when she is judgmental strangers impose their irrelevant opinions on her constantly so she can know exactly how big of a jerk she is. So...I wasn't exactly nice.
ETA: @labby18 You do you, and ignore anyone who says you shouldn't go. Science is on our side!

why do i need to know you put your 9mo on the potty and that she sighed? and that you had it on video chat?
Wait till she posts the poop picture.
