Fifths disease

Sorry to start a new thread. I wasn't sure where this went. If anyone knows, let me know and I'll gladly post there. 

My son was diagnosed with fifths disease this morning. Nothing more than a discomfort for him, but it can have serious pregnancy complications if I catch it. I, stupidly, thought it was croup, so I thought nothing about being his 'primary' caregiver instead of letting SO take the lead. Now, I'm freaking out. 

Anyone else dealt with fifths while pregnant?

My SIL was exposed while pregnant but didn't actually get sick.  If you haven't already, call your provider right away.  I believe they can do a blood test to tell if you have immunity or not.  If you get it they will do extra ultrasounds to monitor the baby.

@Boobopgirl thanks. Everything is closed here today through Monday. I'll call my doc first thing Tuesday morning. The doc we saw at the clinic told me I should be fine provided I don't get a fever. If I do, I'll call the maternity floor for direction.

My best friend got it when she was pregnant with her 2nd. Her baby actually contracted Scarlett Fever in utero. They managed it with some meds and baby turned out just fine. But at 8 years old , is a fiesty one haha. Don't freak. Just wash hands continually, and  no kisses or hugs much more. Watch for fever and you should be okay.
