Freaking Direct TV. Half the movies I select to watch either won't play, or I get halfway through it and it cuts off. It's done this for a week now! And! When I select free movies and the pick one out, it tries to charge me for it!! Ugh!
I nominate my MIL first. So she called all super cute and nice and all. Had a FANTASTIC conversation, actually, until...until the end. Now mind you, in my fam bam, there's 4 kids - 2 from my dad's 1st marriage and 2 from the second (me and my brothaaa). Anniversaries were never a thing the kids were involved in, plus my parents had 2 ceremonies, one in the States and one in Panama like a month apart. Welp, that is not the case for DH. He is expected to call them every anniversary (he is an only child), and as he has become an adult with his own fambam and other responsibilities, he doesn't always remember their anniversary. Moral of the story...He didn't remember this year - the "big 3-5" as MIL worded it, and was told "please smack my child upside the head" as she pretended not to get choked up. So now I'm the messenger. Ugh. Like seriously? We are planning for a kid, he is wicked busy with work, and we live in different time zones, and he freaking forgot. Did your husband forget? No, so why is your son involved in your anniversary? Idk, never was a thing in my family so i just don't get it.
My 2nd nomination, goes to the SayaSa who accused us of being racist and peaced out to October, when we were actually super supportive of her. And how October was like yeah, come hang!

I have DirecTV. This might be a wifi issue. I know the "genie" where all the onDemand stuff is, is hooked up via wifi. I would call both DirecTV and your internet provider and be like wtf!? Fix it, give me free stuff...NOW.
@labby18 Hahaha right?! I'm a bored pregnant lady that just wants an effing movie day!!!!
And that's weird of your MIL...yall have a lot going on right now so she just needs to chillax!!
And the whole racist thing....ridiculous. I read through those posts under mommy boxes and nothing was racist. She just wants to cause drama sounds like. Have fun October board!
@labby18 I thought maybe SayaSa was talking about the baby names thread, where the Muslim origins of her name choice came up, but I didn't see anything bad in there either. A lot of people apologizing that racism was something she had to deal with. I'm super confused, but whatever. She can say what she wants. Personally, I think that if someone came on here and complained that August or October was racist, I would go investigate what was said to her. When I didn't find anything, I'd be like WTF?
@bridge-and-wall in the names thread she even said thank you for all the positive responses and how she was going to show her husband how we thought the names were beautiful etc...because he was the one worried that the names sounded too Muslim. IDK, Girl bye is my thoughts on her. We tried to help and be supportive, but some people just have things made up in their mind on how other people are (wait isn't that racist?) and there's nothing we can do to help them.
Nominating DH for this award today. We went down the shore to help my parents with their move this past weekend. My mom's friend baked a shit ton of delicious homemade brownies. I brought a large bag of said brownies home. I've had 3 since Saturday. There are about 3 left in the bag. I texted DH and asked WTF happened to the brownies? His response "I took 4 with me today." FOUR. FOUR JUST TODAY. I angrily reminded him that I'm pregnant and warned him of the consequences if he so much as looks in that bag's direction again.
Me & DH: 31 | Married: 5.4.13 | TTC: April 2016 | BFP: 1.8.17 | EDD: 9.13.17
@Swazzle DH learned this the hard way. He ate the last of something (i don't remember what it was now) AND LEFT THE BOX IN THE PANTRY...I flipped. He now asks, "there's only 1 left, can I eat it?" when it's the last of something. I hope your DH learns swiftly!
@Swazzle ugh it's the worse when you're craving something and then you go to get it and it's gone. Thankfully he didn't finish all of them! But DH needs to remember you're pregnant and to back away from the brownies! lol
WOWWWW. I really think she thinks we're racist/confused/jealous/rude/condescending because we were mind blown about the amount of sex they apparently have...I'm sorry it is like she has some sort of attention seeking behavior problem. Let's just comment in as many low key places and throw shade on an ENTIRE group of women who did nothing wrong...and then if they get offended throw more shade. She needs to grow up.
eta: i just found the post in the thread...my sarcastic self "loved tit" the day after she posted it. I apparently have no shame in my game.
eta2: just kidding. i liked the ORIGINAL post, she edited it 2wks later lol, I'm not as horrible as I thought.
@labby18 I don't understand having to celebrate someone else's anniversary. We never celebrated them growing up but my mom was perpetually single lol I don't understand why I would need to celebrate my parents 35 years of marriage when they promised to stay together for life. Like, cool, you've made it another 365 days plus an extra for leap year together and have a million more to go.
My TW award goes to DHs extended family Easter party. It's supposed to storm and be in the 50s this weekend so naturally they want to have the party outside -_- and they refuse to not bring deviled eggs even though DS is deathly allergic to them. Some people are plain dumb.
@labby18 Weird about your MIL's anniversary. After I moved out of the house, I would call my mom on their anniversary and say happy anniversary and then ask what their plans were. But sometimes I'd just text her, or ask her after the fact how everything was. But my parents don't even celebrate big, it's always just a dinner and a movie out, so it's never been a big deal in our family either. I don't even know when my FIL and MIL's anniversary is. I wonder if DH knows...
I nominate my coworker again. This is the one that tried to get me in trouble with my boss a couple weeks ago.
So my department has XX amount of work that must be done every single week, and it gets split up between the team members. Well, she was out all last week with the "flu," but wouldn't admit that she wouldn't be in at all until Thursday. So we scrambled and got her entire week of shit done in two days. She didn't come in again last night (she works overnights). Her daughter is 16 and watches the 2 year old overnights while she works. Well the 16 year old is in Paris for two weeks. And the child's father has (shockingly) flaked. Apparently there is no one else in her life that can watch the kid for any number of hours this week (including the 15 year old son?), so she will not be coming in at all this week either.
I have two doctors' appointments this week. I don't got time for her shit, plus all of my own.
Andplusalso, she actually requested all next week off as PTO. So hooray for her, she gets 3 weeks off, and I get 3 weeks of doing the work for 1.5 people. While I'm currently growing a person.

Nominating my SO for something similar!! Last week i bought my favorite cookies and he ate the last of the package on me so i made him go out and buy more and i hid them from him in a cabinet he never goes in. Wake up this morning and the package is in the garbage because he ate them while i was asleep! I haven't gotten over it yet
1: I am not jealous of anyone who has sex multiple times everyday. Good for them, Insuppose, but my vagina would fall out of my body, and at this point I really need my vagina around to perform other functions. Plus, I don't think amount of sex has anything to do with race at all. And even though that's my opinion, I feel confident science would back me up. (Also, I recently read that studies have shown sex tends to be more impactful, and orgamsms better, when you have it less frequently- like, once or twice a week. So there's that.)
2: @labby18 How awkward that she put you in the middle like that. My parents will have their 34th anniversary this year (I think...33rd? 30-something-th.), and kids participating in it has never been a thing. I usually say happy anniversary whenever I talk to my parents close to the day-of, but they don't get emotional if I don't.
3: My TW is myself, who hasn't gone grocery shopping yet this week. I used up all the eggs making deviled eggs on a whim last night, and we're out of milk and oj and it feels like everything else. So my breakfast was boring, and now my lunch is shaping up to be boring too. Boo, myself! You know I'm always hungry and need more variety in my life than leftovers and toast!
4: Speaking of food- @Swazzle it is time for you to be inducted into the age-old pregnant wife trick of hiding food. You leave just enough brownies out for him not to be suspicious, and then hide a separate bag with more than your fair share. After all, the extra aren't really for you, they're for the baby.
Why do men feel the need to steal food from pregnant women? We have a policy in our house. If he finishes a snack I like, he has to replace it before I notice it's gone.
@bridge-and-wall@labby18@mrs_tacos I would not worry about her. Upon reading some of her posts in October, she is not bright. Normally I would take any and all claims of racism very seriously, especially if I had a reaction to it. I'd ask myself why I was being defensive or denying it. I don't feel defensive in this situation and I think perhaps she felt that people were judging her, but that's a different animal.
TW award goes to my husband who I do love dearly but we are house hunting for our forever home ( we're going to outgrow our current home) We found the most amazing house- I am totally in love. He's not. He does really like it but its not love like it is for me. He is talking himself out of it with the most silly things " Well, the street is not busy but it would be ideal if it was closer to XX street" "The driveway is not concrete so it will have to be redone in 5 years" " the carpet is kinda slippery" it goes on and on. Offers are due tomorrow and he's no where near ready to consider putting a bid in. Bye-bye sweet house with the amazing pool and open concept kitchen. I'll miss what could have been *sigh*
FYI, I just found this in our spreadsheet thread. I'm so confused.
Okay this is the most ridiculous thing ever. The same day she was calling us rude and racists and stuff she was calling people out in october for not intro-ing and informing them of "how october works" ....? Pot and kettle? She can do whatever but for real the racist thing is pure bullshit and it makes me extremely mad. If I ever saw racist comments here I'd shut that shit down.
Off-topic but this discussion led me to go lurk the Oct board. It's entertaining over there-- they have a good circumcision post with some drama! I'm actually surprised that hasn't come up here, unless I missed it (I am NOT suggesting that it come up for discussion here).
@zetega I read the circumcision post too. Thought it was really interesting since DH and I are on the fence with this issue currently. As Freddie's a boy, I feel the need to start researching. DH seems to think the decision can wait until he's born.
I wonder if it was calling her a sex robot that threw her for a loop? I by no means was jealous of her, actually I was not believing her BS story about their sex life not to mention later it comes up that her DH works 18 hours a day and when he's off "the bed sees more of him than I do" and I'm like so he's off work for 6 hours total in a day and y'all are doing it twice? Every single day? Please explain.....
@bridge-and-wall it can be a tough decision! Just be prepared for everyone to jump down your throat with sweeping pronouncements on both sides if you ask for opinions, so watch out for that ("it's mutilation" vs. "my DH is circumcised and he wasn't traumatized by it," which IMO are equally unhelpful comments).
I'm also confused about the racist allegations. MUD to me. My TW nomination is a bird. Yep. It keeps trying to build a nest above our front door, leaving poo, mud, and debris everywhere. DH pressure washed the entry this weekend, only to open the door on the way to work today to find this damn bird came back with a vengeance and left stuff all over our porch again. Anyone know how to deter this bird? Or kill it? JK... kinda.
@zetega@mrs_tacos We have discussed with friends with young boys. So far, I have mostly heard the dad was circumcised, so they wanted to boy to feel the same. I've also heard "We don't want him to get made fun of in the locker room." Not helpful. I'm going to research for myself and talk to a doctor.

One thing that keeps coming to my mind is that my grandfather had to be circumcised in his fifties for heath reasons (I don't know all the details- never really wanted to!), and that sounds miserable. I think research and talking to the doctor is going to be our route too.
Hi. So this is a very personal, sensitive, and even religious topic. I do not think that the TW tuesday thread is a good place for this discussion or that the bump is a good place for this discussion. If you care to continue this discussion let's not do it on this thread....
On the circ topic, We chose not to with my son for a long list of reasons but to keep it brief and civil the main reason kept circling back to- its done for cosmetic purposes. It rarely serves as a medical reason so ...if he feels at some point later in life that its something he really wants he can go ahead and do it, but he cant ever UN do it.
My TW is my anterior placenta. I'm 18+1 now and haven't felt anything at all that could possibly be a baby. I've seen people saying they couldn't feel anything until as late as 22 weeks with an anterior placenta. I'm so impatient and want that reassurance!!!
It's a personal decision. I will say that the "daddy's penis is.... so ds will be ....." makes no sense to me as I wouldn't alter a daughter to look like me, circumcision is on the decline so boys in the locker room may be 50/50 and it's really atypical to need to get circumcised due to health reasons later in life. Doing the research and talking with your doctor are great things to do.
