When I see shared facebook pages, like BobandLinda Smith (for ex.), all I instantly think is "who cheated". Not sure if that's an opinion though....
Baby related: A pregnant lady in one of my local milspouse groups was looking for a cheap newborn photographer because they're strapped for cash and she can't pay a lot. I understand people want newborn photos but honestly if you're strapped for cash, why not just make best with what you have and use a smartphone and good lighting. I grew up in a family that was always hurting for money however my parents spent money on stuff we wanted but never needed. Thankfully DH and I are financial stable even with student loans and even if I end up a SAHM. It'll be tighter that usual but I'd rather save than have professional pictures, especially if I can take some myself.
@MississippiCatfish the cream in the middle of them makes me cringe, can't do it. @slaven YES to the Facebook thing. My friends sister shares one with her husband (and has since before they got engaged) because neither of them trusts the other enough to have their own Facebook. Like, how are you even married?
I find soda disgusting. Sparkling water or ginger ale? Fine. Actual soda? Ew.
On the FB theme, don't try to sell me stuff on FB. Advertise all you want, but don't message me. And don't follow up if I politely ignore your first message.
@DuchessOfCambridge I'm not a huge soda drinker at all. I don't find it disgusting but I really never get it. That is until last week and I was craving Dr. Pepper for some reason. It did help my nausea though.
@MississippiCatfish I find most (not all) Lularoe things not...that...cute. The prints are so not my thing, I prefer to buy clothing that is timeless. There I said it. I'll accept the flames.
@DuchessOfCambridge yes. Have you read the scarymommy "I don't wear pizza slices" article? Pretty funny. I don't care if others want to wear them, but don't tell me "you're wrong!" when I say I don't think lularoe is anything special. Which is exactly what happened to me at a mom's night out last Friday
I also agree that Lularoe isn't all it's made out to be. The patterns are NMS at all. I've gotten 2 pairs of solid leggings. One came with holes and the other developed holes in a couple weeks.
A lot of the dresses/shirts just look like PJs to me. I'm not paying those crazy prices for something I'm not going to wear out of the house.
I only wear my LLR leggings in the house. One pair developed a hole last week and I'm pretty bummed by it. I saw a class action lawsuit on FB someone is trying to push regarding the quality of the leggings. I could use that money back.
I have one pair of LLR leggings that my friend used as payment for helping her process some of her orders. I like them, but I would love them if the waist band was different. I had to stop wearing them almost immediately after my bfp because they did not work with the bloat. They hurt to wear. And I also think they cost way too much money.
I decided to stop selling Rodan+Fields, products I genuinely love, because I hated myself on Facebook. Pretty sure that the majority of my fb friends still have me unfollowed from that.
I have an embarrassing amount of Lularoe. I really like the pieces I have, although I don't think they are necessarily worth the price. The thing that really bothers me though is the completely fugly patterns they dream up and then force the consultants to take all the risk. The consultants are basically forced to keep buying more to get fresh inventory to hopefully make up for the fugly stuff. It really bothers me because I know a lot of SAHMs sell it and I bet they each have thousands of dollars of unsellable inventory in their houses while the top people are swimming in their pools of money!
I am seriously questioning my taste in junk food with so many haters of jello, fruit in jello, whipped cream, and now Cadbury Eggs lol. I buy those eggs in bulk and ration them for the year. I sound like a sugar addict lol.
My UO, I hate baby wearing. I tried it with all three. I did actual carriers, wraps, and the K'tan. None of them worked for me. I never felt like the baby was secure. I know people who did their laundry, dishes, and exercised wearing their babies. I wonder if it's cause I'm so short. I even tried to back carry when they got big enough, and still couldn't make it work. Side note, and AW for my husband: he wore our third so maybe I should just let him do the baby wearing
@DuchessOfCambridge I also don't like soda very much. Actually, I don't normally like any kind of sweetened drinks...I pretty much just drink water. Except now, the thought of plain water makes me want to gag, so I have sweeten my water I used to love Cadbury eggs but now they're way too sweet for me. Also I have never bought any Lularoe clothes and now I don't think I ever will. :P
Nov 17 BMB May Siggy Challenge: Mother's Day Fails
I guess my UO is I don't like Coke products, I am a Pepsi girl.
:::high fives you as I sip my morning Pepsi:::
@fiddleRN79 I'm a babywearerer for life! We're not even buying a double stroller, front carries got tricky as he got a little older since I'm only 5' but I will completely agree that like everything else parenting related, it's not for everyone! I hate wrapping, but love ring slings and more structured carriers. Wraps make me feel claustrophobic with all that fabric.
My semi-UO: I dont understand this whole "mommy hoarding" culture. Tulas, LLR, cloth diapers, whatever the newest lipstick people are selling? It's like my whole newsfeed is full of grown women magpies that want to show off collections of overpriced stuff. For the record, I have a tula, I love it more than any other parenting product I own, but I have 1. It's faded and beat up but still works perfectly. It's definitely not a showpiece. We plan on buying a second one off my friend because hers is mesh and Florida is hot.
@TallMomma29 Some of the patterns my friends have...I feel so bad. They'll NEVER sell.
@fiddleRN79 I personally love babywearing because it's made a lot of situations easier on us. I'm 5'1" so I won't blame your height. I still wear my two year old though I am letting him become more independent. I think it's just a preference thing. Babywearing without a doubt saved me early on but if it's not your jam it's just not your jam. Let hubby do the work.
@Tourmalily Nah, I've seen MUCH worse. So far everyone has been pretty tame with their UOs/FFFCs. Besides, as long as you're not stopping me from drinking coffee, we're good.

Yeah, we haven't gotten into the opinions on toddler leashes or what people are buying on welfare money. It's definitely been tame lol
but ftr, I also hate coffee. And I hate being dependent on caffeine. I never want to get to that point again (college! With Diet Coke!)
I hate coffee and I don't get the obsession with it. Maybe the smell of fresh brewed coffee is nice but guess what your breath stinks now.
I can't stand the smell or taste of coffee. I can't distinguish between the smell of coffee and the smell of cat pee. They literally smell exactly the same to me.

Babywearing didn't work out with my first two but I was determined to make it work this time around bc how would I ever get anything done or go anywhere with two toddlers and a baby??? And then the universe was like "LOL, here's two babies!" I guess me and DH could each wear one??

I loved babywearing my first and did so occasionally until he was about 5. I sold my giant kinderpack last year when we started TTC and used the $$$ to buy an infant kinderpack. I can't waiiiiit to use it!
But I don't get the hoarding either. I have one body. How many baby carriers do I need? Hint: one.

@pawcall my cousin has a friend that has $20,000 worth of carriers at any given moment. Not to mention her cloth diaper stash. I don't freaking get it.
I have two carriers (same brand) because I found a used one at a consignment store for a ridiculously good price. Being able to keep one in the car and one in the house ended the "I can't believe we forgot the carrier at home!!" moments. So now I'm a huge fan of having two lol
@Tourmalily I love iced coffee-especially in the summer!! Plus, it keeps my household going! Lol
@fiddleRN79 I did the babywearing thing occasionally with my first two. With my third, I babywear that kid everywhere! lol especially since I have my two step-kids most of the time too! I take all 5 out together a lot by myself and I need the free hands! For me, it has nothing to do with the bonding or closeness thing, it's all about convenience! I plan to baby wear with the next one too! But I also can't wait to get a double stroller!
@cmessamore - Also hate Walking Dead - although I like Game of Thrones. I don't get the whole zombie thing at all. And I don't want to live in a post-apocalyptic world!
But... I LOVE mini-eggs!
@MississippiCatfish - Yep no selling to me on facebook I will block you! I had a friend of a friend who added me to facebook out of the blue which I thought was nice and then started harassing me with the Rodan +Fields..ughhh. And she kept posting about how nice it is that she can be with her kids while other moms still have to work.......yeah not the way to sell to a working mom!
I live for my cans of carbonated chemicals. Diet Coke is for sure my biggest vice.
I have some LLR leggings in crazy patterns. My son absolutely loves when I wear them, which I do when we're in the hospital and need to be comfy, or are just lounging around the house. My son is straight up obsessed with donuts, so he LOVES that I have donut leggings. I also have paw print ones, wolf ones, ones with hearts all over them. He loves picking our new pairs for me. They are essentially PJ's for me, and I don't have hundreds of pairs - probably 8-10. I absolutely love the Irma and Gracie shirts. The Irmas are doing a pretty fabulous job of hiding all my bloat.
Actually potentially unpopular opinion - kids on leashes are one of the saddest things I can imagine. I know people love to say that "if you had a runner, you'd understand" - nope. I have a runner. A 6 year old with no sense of safety awareness or desire to stay with his family. His dad lost him at the zoo once. Straight up lost him, he was halfway across the zoo by himself and not even looking for us. I still will not leash him because he is not a domesticated animal. If I'm somewhere with him that I can't 100% focus on him, he goes in a stroller. When he outgrew his stroller, I bought a bigger stroller.
