@2dash Yes! The only person who has tried to sell me R&F used the same tag line "I started to feel worthless as nothing more than a stay at home mom". I was like, dude, you're talking to a (mostly) SAHM????
We got a leash for DS when we went hiking in the smokies last summer since a lot of the trails we hiked had steep drop offs. I wore him in a hiking carrier most of the time but sometimes he needed to stretch his legs. Stroller is a no-go for him and always has been. Absolutely freaking hates it and will cry until he pukes if we put him in it. We've never used it besides that, but 2 days ago he slipped out of my hand in a parking lot and only missed being hit by a car because of a quick thinking passerby, so I have no judgement. To me restraint is restraint, as long as the kid is safe (and not being yanked around if they are on a tether) then do what you gotta do.
@MississippiCatfish@2Dash aaand that why I stopped selling it. They literally coach you on this stupid stuff to say. Somehow the most successful people post this ridiculousness. But they also have thousands of "friends" and bring up R+F with anyone and everyone. It's obnoxious.
I do miss my R+F face though. I can't afford it without selling it, but dang, my skin was so pretty when I used it
@slaven YES! That is immediately what I think also. Otherwise, what is the point? I don't want my husband sharing gaming tips about Dungeons and Dragons on my page and I'm sure he could care less about the 1200 Lularoe groups I am in. Separate pages are necessary.
@DuchessOfCambridge For the most part I have given up soda this pregnancy. I caved and had a coke last week and it made my kidneys hurt. I don't think I will pick it back up after I deliver.
@TallMomma29 I love LLR also. I probably have 25 Azure skirts. I'm excited that they will stretch with me this pregnancy.
@pawcall My one and only "never" about motherhood is leashing my kid. I won't do it. I also have a wild toddler and I will wear him, place him in the stroller, or carry him.
While we are on the topic of Cadbury Eggs, how does everyone feel about circus peanuts. Asking for a friend
Yesss @av2323 I'm so excited for my LLR while pregnant. I have a bunch of irmas and julias that I already wear all the time, and I think they will look so great with a bump!
I'm so happy baby wearing worked for a lot of you. I wanted it to work because it would be easier than the strollers. We don't really have any groups around here, or places to buy carriers honestly. I probably need to go somewhere I can try before I buy. I gave away all five of mine when I thought we were done. I may try again since some of you are shorter (like me) and it works for you.
Ok, I hope I don't offend anyone with this post but it is UO so here goes...I have bought two LLR items in my life. One is a green Nicole dress--no pattern, just a plain bright green. It is super flattering and I do really like it. The other was a striped Julia--it was Such. Bad. Quality. The fabric was super thin and the stripes were reeeeeally mismatched at the seams. Not something I would normally even notice, but they were thick stripes and almost just lined up to the opposite color at the seaming, so it was really obvious. And it was $40-something--way overpriced for what it was!! I would never have bought it if I had actually seen/tried it on...but the FB selling model makes that hard. I sent it back for a refund, and said never again.
I also think the consultant not getting to pick their patterns is super sketchy--they pay a lot of $$ to buy in with no guarantee they will make anything back.
I also hate coffee, but I LOVE soda! I'm not having caffeine right now but actually bought some caffeine free soda so I wouldn't have to give it up completely during pregnancy--but there's a lot of sugar so I only have one every few days when I'm craving it.
@pawcall I seriously feel like we are the same person! We have spent a lot of time in hospitals with our kids and I CANNOT stand kid leashes! My youngest one is like you describe your son. He is fearless and unaware of any danger. But still, I cannot see leashing a child... Also, I LOVE LLR! I do not wear it everyday and I am very particular with the pieces I buy. I am looking forward to wearing my leggings, dresses, and Urma's right on through my pregnancy!
You know your kid better than anyone. If you feel the need for a harness to keep him/her safe, DO IT. And if another parent judges you, eff 'em. Seriously. Please don't feel sad for a parent who's doing everything they can and everything they believe to keep their kids safe. There are bigger fish to fry. I know a couple of twin mamas with the harnesses and, ya know what, one kid is hard enough and I'd absolutely use a harness on mine in certain situations. Two runners? Praise you, mama. You're doing it.
I also agree that Lularoe isn't all it's made out to be. The patterns are NMS at all. I've gotten 2 pairs of solid leggings. One came with holes and the other developed holes in a couple weeks.
A lot of the dresses/shirts just look like PJs to me. I'm not paying those crazy prices for something I'm not going to wear out of the house.
@DuchessOfCambridge I hate soda too! Drinking a can of carbonated chemicals? No thanks!
Both of these things. LLR is a style and just because it isn't mine doesn't mean my style is wrong. All my friends here think I'm nuts for not drinking the koolaid. I prefer timeless pieces as well (mostly because I never buy myself new clothes). And my body shape just looks better in structured clothing. Soda= straight up man-made, chemical beverage with literally no nutritional value. I have a coworker who drinks decaf diet coke. What is even the point?! I actually snapped once when she was complaining about the break room being out of it and told her just to drink water... On the other side of the fence, however, the occasional sprite or ginger ale does help the nausea and I've even sipped on a coke before when desperate enough for energy. As for flavored water- just discovered Hint. Super in love. Zero calories, no sweetener, no GMO flavors. Just water, with a hint of *whichever fruit flavor you choose.* I was actually able to keep it down when I was unable to keep regular water and ginger ale down so it has a believer in me. (Not a sales pitch) My UO? I *hate* branded children's products and before DD came, swore I would never let them dominate my house. That said, I have come to terms with the fact she really does love Frozen and she now has several shirts and dolls despite my original resistance. Though I maintain the stance on household domination by branded products.

UO- I don't get why some moms take pictures of their kids every day. I mean every...single...day...of...their...life. Don't get me wrong. I take plenty of pictures, but I don't commemorate every school day with a photo.
Soooo much to respond to. Not even gonna try to remember who said what and tag.
- I used to like Cadbury eggs but am now a snob and will only eat the ones from the U.K. They're so much better.
- I hate coffee. Don't usually mind the smell of it but I hate when DH has some before he kisses me. Blech.

I'm totally that person that will order a Coke at a restaurant and if the waiter says "is Pepsi okay?" I'll say no I'll just have water. Can't stand Pepsi!

I have 4 Tulas - one that I need to sell, one of my dream WCs that stays at home, one for my car, and one for DH's car. I actually bought one of the free to grow ones that released yesterday too, so I might be selling another one haha! I have a few woven wraps but different sizes do different things, and a ring sling that I can't wait to use again! I have a k'tan and just got a solly for the newborn phase too. Yes to everyone who said they don't like friends hard selling to them on Facebook. Someone on my news feed used her miscarriage as an opportunity to plug her R+F on FB. Unfollow.
I have a few friends who sell for BeautyCounter. Stop telling me I'm harming my family and my unborn child if I don't switch to BeautyCounter shampoo and conditioner for $20+/bottle. Also, your hair looks exactly the same as it did before.

So much yes here. It's a parent keeping a kid safe. They might not be doing it the same way you would, but I don't think it's anything to judge. Safe kid = okay by me.

This is a good point, I've never thought about it this way. We talk a lot about not judging other pregnant women for their choices in diet or when they announce, etc but less so about parenting. Thanks for the perspective, because I've definitely always had a negative reaction to parents using harnesses on their children. You're right, safe kid = a good thing.
Ooo leashes. My little sister had one cause she was wild. But was it sad? No, because she loved it! It worked great for two weeks, and then she started wanting to hold the leash herself, so it was retired. If the kid doesn't look sad, I don't think it's sad. Even the most attentive parent can have a kid run into the street.
@mariposa_767s Raises guilty hand! I probably take a pic of my son 6 out of 7 days. I don't really share them though. We do those groove books and I just save it to that. I am definitely crazy with taking pics, just not posting them!
Well, okay, I guess my UO is, I think kid leashes are fine and I use one with DD.
I understand why people don't want to use them with their kids; you never want to treat your child like an animal. But having used one, it's nothing like a leash for a dog. You don't yank your kid around or anything--and if they start running, really it's just there to let you know so you can run after them--NOT so you can pull them back like you would a dog. To me, the leash is just a thing that connects me to her, so that if she tries to run away I will notice. It is not meant to restrict her.
I don't use it very often, just in crowded places like airports. She's 2 and sometimes we're at the airport for a long time; she would hate to be in a stroller the whole time, and she definitely wouldn't let me carry her that long. I actually see it as giving her a lot more freedom than she would have otherwise.
I'm not saying everyone should do it, but that's why I do it and I don't think it makes me or anyone else a bad mom.

UO: I think the highly posed baby photos that are so popular and require a parent to hold up the babies head and then be photoshopped out because it's an unnatural and unsafe pose for a baby are weird. Many are beautifully done, but if the photo needs to be manipulated that much I don't see it as a real documentation of the baby.
@jdw0325 I think it's the sharing them everyday that has me like "ugh". I do take a lot of pictures, less now that he's 5 and gives me the same silly face each time. Maybe it's more the treating the kids like a trophy that gets me. If it's a memory, I totally get that.

I agree with this. I'm a photographer and I do not do this pose. I just plain don't like the way it looks, and though I do know how to do it safely, where a parent or assistant is always holding the baby's head and you do a composite of the two images, it's far too unnatural for me. It makes me cringe.

@bklynchica@elsieisamoocow totally agree. I think it makes the baby look unnatural and bizarre, like it's twisted in some weird way. Definitely not for me.

I didn't have newborn pictures so I am trying to picture this. Is this the one were the baby is holding his/her own head on their hands?
@ElizabethSchuyler yes. We are planning on doing a newborn shoot with our wedding photographer but it'll be like, DH and me holding the baby and hugging each other and looking enamored with our newest family member, etc. Baby will not be fully naked and baby will not be posing weird.
@elsieisamoocow do you have any pics of your monroes without fringe? I've seen a few I loved but I haaaate fringe and didn't know if it would look weird if I just cut it off!
I love my LLR's but only in simple patterns!! I hate the crazy patterns! This was my UO a couple weeks ago! lol I don't need Santa's face on my lady parts!! Lol!!
I personally do not like the baby harnesses, but if they work for you to keep your kid safe, then do it! As an EMT, you'd be surprised how many kids get hit by cars right near a sidewalk or in a parking lot. And every person says "well, where were the parents" and the truth, kids are fast!!! Mistakes and accidents happen and if the harness would prevent some of those accidents, go for it! Again, they're not for me, but you do you!
Also, I had no idea how they did those baby poses!! Hahaha our "infant" photos were taken by me with our baby in a tuxedo t-shirt getting ready to leave the hospital! This is how we roll! We did some other baby pictures by a great photographer when our baby was a little bigger and didn't just look like a baked potato with hair.
I have some LLR that I like but I've had way more that I didn't like. The Carly dress that everyone raves about does not suit me at all. It's a glorified nightgown. I love the Nicole dress though because it suits my shape perfectly. Irmas are great and I've tried Classics but the mediums are too short in the front and tight on my boobs and the larges are too baggy on my body. Story of my life though.
@bklynchica I had no idea that's how that pose was done! I just never thought about it. I guess my UO is that I think some highly posed baby photographs are cute! I admit some are a little strange, though.
@gipfish that is awful about the person using her m/c as an excuse to sell R&F. How in the world did she even make that connection? My thing about MLMs...it bothers me when people "retire" from their jobs at 30 (or make that their goal) because they are making money in direct sales. It's not a sustainable source of income. It also bugs me how the products are generally way overpriced, and it's hard to find an honest review of MLM products (because most reviews are written by consultants or friends of consultants).
Thanks @DuchessOfCambridge! I actually dont buy in to the lularoe leggings, but their dresses and skirts are my fave. I dont do *too* crazy of patterns, I try and get as solid as possible actually but i love the way they fit me!
