  • Her naps have been awful lately though.. a couple 30-45 minute naps throughout the day.

  • @AllyTheKid that's comforting, at least, that surgery isn't the only option.  I hope you get the answers you're looking for.  Do any of your LOs have vision problems?

Also, Anime Guy sounds like a very grounded individual with totally normal reactions to slight inconveniences...geez, you're so mean! ;)

@Ladybug2821 it sounds like you had a bunch of mom wins this weekend!  Did you see anything good?

B sleeps 8p-6:30a usually, but I think that is atypical, to be honest

S goes to bed 6:30-7 but keeps waking up at 5. Maybe that's normal but she's usually still sleepy and I can rock her back to sleep until she wakes around 6. It would just be nice if she would stay asleep until 6 at least. She still does 1-2 MOTN feedings also.

@Kgridley27 We saw Get Out. It was very creepy but we also weren't impressed. We went to a different movie theater than usual and it had leather reclining seats. That was the best thing about it. I should've just taken a much need nap!

@fitlady21 Storm's naps have always been pretty crappy, basically just 30 mins on the dot. This weekend she managed a couple 1.5 hrs naps and a 2 hr nap. I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke.
  • @Ladybug2821 I have heard mixed reviews on that one.  I think I'm way too much of a chicken to see for myself, ha... The fancy seats sound magical and I would not have blamed you for paying good $$ to take a nap in a big comfy chair!

I really hope S is turning a corner on naps for you.  I know my LO is a super crank-butt if he skips a nap and it is not fun at all.  How is your H holding up now that he's with her all day?  Has he gotten into any sort of routine & are you guys more on the same page with feeding/sleeping etc?

  • @Kgridley27 He kind of does his own thing. He follows her cues so no rigid schedule and he has something he does with her for naps. But I still think he "sees" hunger cues that aren't there. So I left 4-4oz bottles today to see how that goes.

As far as the movie goes, it was not scary like people had said. Just weird.
  • I usually put Johnny to bed for the night around 9pm. The big kids go to bed at 8:30. Johnny sleeps usually until around 6:30-7a.m. uniterrupted, then he'll wake for a bit and fall back asleep for a bit, and he's usually up and around for the day at 9a.m. As far as naps go, I just kind of let him do his own thing during the day lately unless it's too close to bedtime for a nap.
  • Mine also does 1-2 MOTN feedings as well. She use to take solid 1.5-2 hour naps but not the past couple of days. I'm hoping it's just teething that's causing it. She's also been extra fussy and her teeth seem to be bothering her more than normal.
  • @fitlady21 Hope your LO goes back to taking good naps. I may have spoken too soon. H has been having a hard time today getting her down for naps.
  • playing catch up! its been super interesting to me to read about feedings because we are in a weird place with them right now. Abigail was EBF for 5 months, when we introduced porridge because our ped said she needed mroe calories (she burns so quickly because of her heart defect). Well when we were in the hospital we were told to start fortifying with formula. So her porridge is made with formula (plus 1 extra scoop per ever 3oz water) and if I pump milk, I have to add formula to it, and now after nursing offering her a bottle (of fortified formula). She never takes more than 2oz at a time (from a bottle). But now she is refusing to nurse all day and only nurses at night, 2-4 times a night depending.

She also usually sleeps from 8/9pm - 6:30 am, then I put her in bed with me and she'll snooze again til 7:30/8am, Though she is up 2-4 times to nurse, but goes right back to sleep.

Other food things. I am being rather adventurous with her because I know she needs extra calories, not that I give her a lot of food but I give her a tiny taste to see her reaction. She's not a huge fan of avocado which I WISH I could get her to eat.

  • @kmolleltz What is porridge exactly?  When I went back to work, S refused the breast when I came home when I tried to nurse her before bed, but she nursed fine in the MOTN (probably too tired to care).  I had to "trick" her into nursing.  At the beginning of our BF journey, I had to use a nipple shield so I pulled that back out and for whatever reason she nursed with that (maybe the bottle nipple like feeling).  Then midway through I just took if off and she nursed as she normally would.  I had to do that a few times and then she went back to normal.

  • @kmolleltz my LO is not a big fan of avocado but will eat voraciously if it has lime & salt in it.  Worth a shot if you're comfortable with it!
  • Johnny just up and decided that he wants to crawl now last night...

    I have a crawling baby and a walking/running toddler  :s
  • @allythekid Awww, I love it, but I'm sure for you its a handful.  Right now I can't wait for S to start crawling, but I'm sure i'll regret those words once she actually does.

  • B wants nothing to do with crawling.  I think I owe that to his great grandma who is determined that he will be an early walker so no tummy time, etc.  Maybe he'll drop down from a sit to a crawl, but right now there's no way he's going to push himself up from his tummy to go, go, go.

@AllyTheKid we want pictures of crawling Johnny! :)

  • I'll try to get some, but he's low crawling mostly, so hopefully it won't just look like he's laying on his belly. Is there a way to post videos on here? I bump on my phone so I don't have all the fancy stuff figured out (if there is fancy stuff)
  • @AllyTheKid I have no idea.  I'm lucky I can figure out how to reply to posts, to be perfectly honest...
  • Same here lol.  I have no idea how to do most things on here.
  • @Ladybug2821 umm.. porridge in I think just wheat flour? that we mix with formula (other people mix with cows milk) and a little sugar and a little butter like substance (but that has a bunch of vitamins and stuff?) Haha. I didn't think it would so hard to explain. It's the typical Tanzanian starter porridge (called Sooji here)

@allythekid CRAWLING! Oh gosh. I was just telling someone the other day I don't even know what I will do when Abigail can crawl.

@Kgridley27 haha thats awesome. Maybe we will try that.

  • Today is proving to be a rough day... he gets more and more efficient at getting around every hour and I'm not ready for this to be happening yet  :#
