Sometimes we need to celebrate the little victories. What's something you've succeeded at recently? Whether it's getting in a long relaxing shower, going on a date night, or just plain winning at this mom thing- we want to help you to celebrate your victory!
We just successfully transitioned to a bottle! I'm so beyond relieved. DD was a nightmare to transition but with DS he took to it on my third try! We have been doing bottles during the day and I nurse before bed and through the night. I'm pumping now 4 times throughout the day and am meeting his current demand. We start day care in three weeks and I'm so happy to have this behind us. One less thing to worry about
LO pooped 3 times today! This is the first time ever that she pooped more than once in a day. She is EFF and spent the first 3 months constipated and maybe going once every 3 or 4 days. Her first blowout wasn't until she was 3 months. We've worked hard trying to find a formula that works for her.
I managed to keep M in his swing for about 3 hours (with a break to feed) and happy while I hardcore cleaned my main floor! (I'm not usually a long term swing mom but we are having a party for him next week and my house is a mess!) 1 floor down, 2 more to go.
We stayed the night at my SIL's house last night so I was stressed about both kids sleeping a strange environment (DS in the pack-n-play in a room with my snoring DH and DD in bed with me), there were also 3 other LO's (5, 3, 1) in the house ... well, both of my kids not only STTN, but DS slept in later than he ever has in his entire life!
@mrsmoose5 same thing happened when I took B to FL last month. He went down relatively easily and slept like a log every single night even though he would start in a travel bed on my parents bed and get transferred to a pack n play (both were new sleep environments).
We moved from the rock n play to the crib this weekend. I was so nervous about it. Other than the first time she woke up in a weird place and freaked, she's been doing a wonderful job with the transition.
LO is actually on his second nap in his crib today Normally his afternoon nap is on the go or a cat nap in my arms here or there. Feeling like I'm learning his need to nap cues better! Finally able to put in laundry, watch some Netflix with periodic breaks for cleaning random things.
Not LO related but still a mom win. Our two year old got up last night, used the toilet and tucked herself back in. Scared the crap out of us momentarily but was super awesome!
I dropped my LO off at my mums for the night and got a proper night sleep. It's the third time I've done this as my LO has had a bad case of cows milk allergy and it took a while to figure out what it was with 24/7 crying, but it's the first time I didn't had a bad conscious and enjoyed my sleep! (And managed to clean the house!) Not to mention putting on nail polish on all fingers!

Yes!!! Victory!!! Haha I felt the same when my 4 year old finally did it. I'm impressed yours is only 2!
I not only transitioned DD2 to a crib this weekend (I was so not ready for it, but I was desperate for more than a 2 hour stretch of sleep!) but I also put both girls down in the same room!! I'm so impressed by these sweet girls!
@tvh1982 nail polish?! What is this foreign thing you speak of?! That is a huge mom win.
It definitely is...although i forgot it looks horrible after a while...but when has one got time to take it off? Guess if I wait long enough it'll all be gone
I just complained about B waking up but I went in and was able to pat/soothe him back to sleep without picking up for the first time ever since he has had his arms swaddled out. I think I just got lucky but I'll take it.
As you might have read in some of my previous posts, DD has had a hard time napping in her crib. Well, pretty much anywhere but in someone's arms. This morning I got her asleep and successfully transferred her to her crib and then told DS we could go play in the car (he loves to sit in the car and pretend to drive). Well, as soon as we got outside she woke right up. I was so annoyed and knew DS would be so disappointed to have to go immediately back in the house, so I decided to wait since she wasn't crying and if she cried, I would still wait 5-10 minutes before going in. Well, she rolled around and played with her pacifier quietly for about 30 minutes and then fell fast asleep all by herself! She's been asleep about 30 minutes now and I've gotten to make lunch, prep dinner, and do some laundry all while DS plays quietly in the living room. YAY!!!
We're EBF but we've been using a nipple shield since LO was born. The last 3-4 weeks I've been randomly trying to go without it, and increased attempts more this past week. Today we only used it maybe twice! Love my girl!

This is amazing and SUCH a big deal! Those shields are a life saver but also a real big PITA. I'm in the same boat except I'm so traumatized from the absolute destruction M caused that I'm way too chicken to try it. Way to go lady!
B has been asleep in the car seat for 1.5 hours. That never happens. He's usually done after about 15-20 min. Of course we are past the time he needs to eat and this throws off getting in a crib nap but whatevs I'll just keep rocking him with my foot while I work
Holy crap LO is going on a 3 hour nap! Never happens. When we started naps in the crib they were 30 minutes and lately have been 1-1.5 hours. This is crazy! Maybe she is finally dropping that 4th nap?
We have friends in from away (they are m's godparents and came down for his baptism). So because we were having some drinks I sent M to my moms for his first sleepover. I only had one minor cry before we left and I managed to enjoy my night and I'll get to sleep in. Win!
My first out of town car trip with S went very well. I think all the socializing must have exhausted her because she slept 10 hours last night!!!! Record!!! H put her down to nap at 6 ( i worked till 8:30) and she stayed asleep until 4!
So today is DS first day at day care it's only for 4 hours to ease him in before the long day on Monday when I go back to work but I'm still sad being apart from him. Plus side I get to have a massage today! So excited! Much needed.
I'll put this here, since it's a definite win! One day of mouthwash and my tongue already looks so much better! My mouth is much less itchy, and although my tongue is still really sore I'm sure that just needs time. Hooray! So glad I made them find me an appointment before the weekend. (In case anyone missed it I had oral thrush.)
We usually feed/hold E to sleep at night, but last night I decided to set her down still awake. I decided I wanted to give her a minimum of 20 minutes before I went in. She fussed, though didn't scream, and fell asleep at the 15 minute mark. Not only that, but then she slept 9 hours straight! Feeling so well-rested and accomplished this morning!
Well, after a pretty rough early-wakeup, no-nap day, I have to share this win: DH came home early and helped with bath/bedtime, and then gave me a full back/shoulder/neck massage, complete with massage oil, and no sexual strings attached!
S finally slept in her pack n play in our room for 4 hours! She woke up at her normal times and didn't cry for too long! There's hope on the cruise she won't be terrible. Yeah for small wins.
Last night turned out pretty perfect. We got home, I bathed my mom while H cleaned her area and A was chill the whole time. I fed her, played with her, nursed her and by the time I put her to bed, she was chilled out. I got the sleep suit on, read to her, kissed her good night and she was still awake. But she laid in her crib, sucking her thumb, babbling to herself until she fell asleep with zero fussing. It's nights like last night that give me hope.
Baby S woke only once the other night and today she has a tooth that has finally popped through. It wasn't there yesterday and today it was. No symptoms or extra crankiness. I was super surprised. Yeah!
E had the ideal bedtime last night. Minimal fussing for bath and getting into jammies, snuggles while reading a couple books/singing a song, went down awake and fell asleep soon after without any fussing at all, then slept 11 hours! Definite mom win over here!
