I've got my 36 week appt on Tuesday at 36+3. They will do the GBS and hopefully a cervix check. I'm hoping that I'm somewhat dilated. Even if it's just a cm or two. And this reminds me that I need DH to shave up my lady bits a little bit!
My next appointment is Tuesday at 40+2. I'm pretty sure I'll be making that appointment. Not sure exactly what they're going to do/discuss. I go to a birth center and I've never gone over my due date before, but they don't push induction before 42 weeks so I imagine it will be a lot of talk about natural ways to induce.
I have my last regular OB appointment on Tuesday at 38+6. Hoping that I either go before then (which seems unlikely...all of the contractions I was having last week have been no existent this weekend, ugh) OR that I'm to at least 3cm so they can look into ways to induce (my hospital won't do "chemical" inductions with cervical ripeners or pitocin less than 24 months after a previous c-section) - likely either Foley bulb or breaking my water.
If there's nothing going on by then, RCS is Wednesday morning! DH is grouchy because Wednesday is supposed to be the nicest weather day this week, so he's bummed that we're probably going to be stuck in the hospital haha.

What is it with men worried about everything else other than the fact that you will be giving birth!? DH told me that he hopes my delivery with Samuel is fast like it was with Max because HE doesn't want to be stuck in the hospital for too long.

Right? He was mostly kidding, but I reminded him that all of the recovery rooms in our hospital open up to a courtyard, so he can still sit outside and enjoy the weather. I think he just wanted to go mountain biking one last time before he's put on DS duty for my c-section recovery period.
Regular appt Wednesday at 38+2! My last cervical check caused so much cramping that I don't know if I'm going to do this one.....otherwise they'll just do all the usual stuff. As a FTM there's no telling based on history whether I'll be late or on time or what. But I don't think they push inducement prior to 42 weeks so I think it'll just be touch and go. I have had so many contractions just all the time. I can't imagine it's not softening me a little bit at least.
I have my LAST routine OB appt tomorrow morning at 39+4 (crazy!) after that it's either "see you in labor or for an induction at 41". I'm hoping for a cervical check with progress, maybe a stretch/sweep, and to be able to ask final questions. Things are getting real!!
Regular appointment tomorrow at 39+1. I turned down a cervical check at my appointment last week, but I'm almost tempted to have one done tomorrow if they offer. I think I'd even be ok with a membrane sweep - anything to get this baby out!
Regular weekly on Friday at 38+6. Normal stuff. Hoping the baby is a bit lower because the baby had been high at previous appointments. Also, hoping a bit more progress has been made. We'll see!
36 week appointment Thursday. Baby has dropped super low this week and is KILLING my pubic bone. Fundal was 2 weeks ahead last week so looks like I'm making another big baby! Hoping for some sort of progress happening down there!
C section tomorrow @ 9:30am PST (or 9:40 or 9:45??? The lady who called was very hard to talk to. I just know I need to be there at 8). Can't wait to meet our baby girl!
Regular weekly appointment at 38+3 on Tuesday afternoon. I haven't had any cervical checks yet but think I will ask for one on Tuesday. It feels a little weird because they don't do any unless you request them. I feel weird asking someone to get all up in my vagina. But, my curiosity is winning out at this point and they are never really very uncomfortable for me.

Well, just finished what was supposed to be my last routine appt. It went well, fundal height was 39.5 and I am 39+4, BP was good, total weight gain is fine, baby's HR was 139. I had a check, and she said I was 1-2cm and 50% effaced so I opted to not have a stretch/sweep because it would likely not do anything at this point, which means they scheduled me for one more routine appt at 40+4 and we'll do the stretch/sweep then to try to avoid an induction at 41 weeks. She also was very clear that we should be having lots of sex which we have not been doing and I should be walking to encourage engagement which I have been doing, so here's hoping for lots of progress between now and the next appt! Part of me is bummed there wasn't more progress because we are so ready, but my mom gets here on a Sunday 4/9 at 40+3 so at least it looks like she will be here for the birth.
OB appointment at 40 weeks with ultrasound and biophysical profile beforehand to make LO's still doing okay in there. At this point I've had twinges here and there but nothing quite like how contractions have been described to me, so I assume I'll be keeping this appointment. If baby girl's still doing okay, then bring on all the sex and spicy food!! I'm already trying to walk as much as possible!
37 week appointment today. Last Monday I was 2 cm dilated and 70 percent thinned out. Had a handful of contractions yesterday that took my breath away so I'm hoping that there's been some progress from those. I can't believe it's already April!
Had my 39 week appointment this morning. No progress from last week, still 1 and 50%. She did a membrane sweep. Back next week for my overdue sono and regular OB
Had my 36 week sonogram today. They "estimate" the baby to already be about 7 lbs! Obviously they have no idea but made me feel a little more justified about feeling so tired! Also, wanted to confirm it was a boy (we never 100% confirmed). Was able to see the testicles but couldn't see anything else because his hand was covering things!! I burst out laughing and DH had the biggest grin on his face.
@beemaya83 I've had a membrane sweep previously with DS and it was not uncomfortable for me at all. Much like a regular cervix check. However, some people find them uncomfortable. I've also heard them being compared to a pap.
@beemaya83 I had two cervix checks last week. One with my OB and one at L&D. The membrane sweep didn't even compare to the check at L&D. It just felt like a regular check, a little bit of pressure but it wasn't as bad as I thought (and heard) it was going to be
All good at my appointment today, though my midwife does think baby is posterior. Awesome. So, lots of cat cow stretches and time on the yoga ball for me. Hopefully she'll shift around before it's go time. I didn't end up with a cervical check after all, so no idea how things are in that regard.
Welp, officially no VBAC for me. Bah. Still only 1 cm and my cervix has moved back up a little bit, so we didn't even bother with trying the membrane sweep since it's unlikely it would have been successful.
But, in the plus side, I'm having a baby tomorrow!!
Just got back from my appt. Baby is in a good position but his head just isn't engaged. Not sure what to do about that. The next step is an NST on Sunday and then every couple days while working on natural ways of induction. If I'm not in labor by 42 weeks (Easter) then I get transferred to the back up hospital. I'm feeling a bit discouraged
And to top it all off, DD2 (2.5yo) squeezed her pouch all over her carseat and herself while I was trying to talk to my mom on the phone...someone just shoot me now.
Had my 36 week appt today. Baby is head down, with plenty of fluids. Got the GBS test. I'm measuring "small" at 34, but OB isn't concerned. Best news of all: I'm 2 cm dilated, 40% effaced, and soft!
Thanks, ladies! I won't lie, I was really upset about the VBAC and had myself a good cry in front of my OB and everything, but she helped me put it in perspective that tomorrow I'll have my baby in the safest way possible for us.
AND as an added bonus, I only cried a little bit when we dropped DS off with my parents! (By 'a little bit' I mean I only sobbed for 5 minutes or so...) I am so sad that he won't be an only child anymore, but at the same time I'm so excited to see him as a big brother!!
Had my 37 week appointment this afternoon. Nothing really happened, I was in and out in 5 mins. All they did was check my blood pressure and listened to the baby's heartbeat, all is good! They didn't do a cervix check this week so I'm not sure how things are going down there. Oh well, on to next week!
Regular 38 week appointment today at 38+3. Everything went well. I am with a group of midwives and I never know who I am gonna get until I am there. I honestly love them all, really. There isn't one, out of the group of 7, that I would have any doubts about for my labor and delivery. But the one I had today is one of my favorites. She just seems so genuinely excited about my baby and everything going on. Despite the unreal swelling I am experiencing, my BP is still just fine so they aren't worried at all. Heartbeat was great, belly measuring right on track, baby is anterior and looking good. I told my midwife that I felt like a bad doula, but I really wanted a cervical check just because I was so curious. I know it doesn't mean anything and I tell people that all the time, but all the same I really just wanted to know. She was very sweet and said that curiosity is a totally valid reason to check. It didn't hurt at all. The most painful part was just opening up my hips while laying there. I am 1cm dilated and about 50% thinned out. Perhaps that would be discouraging to some people but I am pretty happy about it. I was never dilated at all before labor with DD1. At my 39 week appointment with her I was not dilated even a tiny but. So, I will happily take 1cm at 38 weeks. I sent DH a text saying only 9cm to go! I don't want to go into labor before next week anyway. My sister gets here on Friday and it would be nice to relax and do some last minute stuff over the weekend before baby gets here. But, come next Monday I am going all out to get her out of me. The midwife said they would do a membrane sweep if I wanted next week at 39+3. I am thinking I will probably do that, if I make it that far.

Ahhh babies are coming. I'm so excited for everyone! I had my 39 (+ 1, everyday counts lol) week appt yesterday. I'm 3 cm and 50%. I know it might not mean too much but I'm happy to have made some progress. I'm hoping for a baby this wked. We'll see!
@pinkshades05 we have been talking about tips to get baby to engage on the Facebook page a bit... so far the most recommended things are lots of power walking, curb walking, bouncing and circles on the birthing ball, stair walking and side stepping the stairs. I'm in the same boat and doing all these things. Good luck!
ETA: sorry, I see now that you've already been on that Facebook thread haha. We'll chalk it up to pregnancy brain
Wyatt had his first appointment this morning. After 5 days he is pretty much back to birth weight (1oz away) and all is going well. Seems to be freakishly strong, even surprised the ped
