I'm back-ish. I've lurking around some. It's been a terribly long and busy week. Ugh.

@wyomama0427 thanks lady! I've not needed to use a public assistance program before (not that there is ANYTHING the matter with it), and having all the freaking education I do, I feel like I should be able to make ends meet...but alas we are stationed in the middle of nowhere, a super high cost of living, and no income for me really hurts. I realize it's available for situations just as this...just a swallow my pride moment maybe?!
@jutondreau Please don't feel guilty! WIC is there to help moms provide for their children, and that's exactly what you're using it for. My mom went on WIC when I was a baby, and it was the difference between both of us being able to eat healthy foods, and my parents having to choose bwtween the best for me, or decent food for themselves. I'm thankful that there was a program that helped my family during a hard time, and someday when they can understand, I believe your kids will feel the same. Good job for doing what you need to do for your family!
@jutondreau I completely understand why you feel that way... but, like you said, you're in kind of odd circumstances. It's not like you are trying to milk the system any way you can. That's why WIC is there! I saw something on tv a while back comparing the cost of living all over the world, and Japan's was insane!
@mrs_tacos & @HollyGolightly09 thanks ladies! I know you're both right. I know it's the right thing with both me and our youngest being anemic...we had a home garden back in the States and ate fresh veg all the time. Here we can't have a garden and when fresh veg is just priced so outrageously, we don't choose that as much. I know it'll definitely make a difference in what we eat. Surprisingly, a lot of families here are on it--anyone E7 and below qualifies with two or more kids which is the majority of our base population.
I love wic! When I had DS I wouldn't have made it without wic. All the formula they give you is so helpful! The lady at my wic office always says this is a nutritional program. It's good to have when you need it.
