We went to the beach this morning, tried fishing but no luck, and then grilled with some of my coworkers. Long day, so we took a nap as soon as we got home. I'm just now starting on chores, ugh. But the weather was beautiful today and I got a nice sunburn (just enough to turn a little pink).
@mrsmarygs I swear I just read yours as "and then grilled some of my coworkers" I laughed out loud and started to think that I need to read more carefully!! It sounds like a really awesome day!
Blacklist, Revenge, Dexter, Lie to Me, Sons of Anarchy, Friday Night Lights, How I Met Your Mother, Merlin, Sherlock, dear god I used to watch a ton of TV
@labby18 I rewatched the entire series before they released the 4 part mini-series! Loved Gilmore Girls so much. Not going to lie... I'm hoping for a spin off!
@Hopefulmommy1980 I'm a little disappointed with this current season we're in right now but I loved the first two so much I watched them like three times lol
Does anyone have suggestions on how to talk DH out of a gender reveal party? I'm not against the idea in general, I just feel like it's just too many parties. We had one a few weeks ago for our new house, and then we are having our baby shower in July. Plus he's wanting us to wait 2 months until my family comes to visit, and I don't know if I can keep a secret for two months. He says he wants one because this is our first child, and he's super excited about every doctor visit and is talking to my bump. So I don't want to crush his dreams, maybe just give him a replacement plan?

Maybe do something with just you two and video it for your families? Cut a cake, pop balloons...
Or, what if he opened the envelope and surprised you? He could go buy a few gender specific things to give you as a gift or something.
@HollyGolightly09 We went to a sports bar to watch the Final Four games. It's our usual place, so they kept me with plenty of water and lemonade, and there was food, but it still felt a little weird. But we know everyone who works there, and they're all super excited for us, which is sweet. Hope you had fun at your bar too!
@HollyGolightly09 I really liked Fantastic Beasts! The ended totally leaves you ready to binge the rest of the series that doesn't exist yet tho.
Oh hey guys, my clients just left. My internet provider has a system wide outage (I do not have internet luck lately), so I kind of don't want to go home...Add on to that, I live on the way to the "touristy main beach" and there is a 20min delay to get home...JUST BECAUSE OF STUPID BEACH TRAFFIC. So I am jelly of the rainy, snowy, sleety weather everyone else seems to be having.
I feel you! I live about 5 min from a main beach and ALL the people wanted to go to the beach yesterday. All we wanted to do was go to the farmers market and lunch. Traffic was stupid.
@DPandMB aw, poor baby I hope she feels better soon.
I'm obsessed with this video (also, does anyone know how to do the heart eyes on TB? it's not a choice in my dropdown list and if I try to use iphone icons it doesn't show AND takes out the rest of my post that comes after it...grrrr)

@mrsmarygs Do you already know the gender and he doesn't?
No, we are going to find out probably in the next week or two, whenever I can get into the lab.
@HollyGolightly09 Thanks for all the suggestions! I talked to DH more last night about why he was so set on a party, and it turns put he just wants to hang out with his friends more. He feels like he never gets any time with them and we never have anyone over. So I'm hoping that if we can come up with some other events that we can hang out with friends, that the reveal party might become a non issue.
I'm supposed to participate in a writer's workshop later, but I woke up with a kink in my lower back so bad it hurts to walk. So I'm sitting on a heating pad, and hoping it eases up by this afternoon.
Also, getting ready for bed last night, I realized the ring of skin around my belly button is darkening. Googled it, and apparently this is sometimes alternative to or in addition to a linea nigra. Pregnancy is weird, y'all!
@mrsmarygs oh okay. Well you could always just do a gender reveal as a photo shoot. Maybe have a friend or professional take some pictures of you two finding out the gender in whatever fashion you want. Then you could mail photos out or make it into a cute card for them to find out. That way your husband gets a gender reveal and you won't have to throw another party.
This weekend is a lazy weekend for me. Yesterday DH and I planned to do the flooring in the nursery, but apparently Lowes only delivered half of the base foam barrier stuff that we had ordered, so we have to wait for the rest of it to arrive sometime this coming week.
I did did get a few plants to start my garden. Today would be perfect to plant too, but DH forgot that my bags of soil were in his truck. I suppose I will have to wait til he gets home from work tomorrow to finish planting.
I'm just happy it is sunny out. We have had rain nonstop for the past two weeks. It was supposed to storm today too, but hopefully the storms won't roll in until this evening.
Today after church was a beach day with some girlfriends. Only 1 bathigsuit can barely keep these tatas from being obscene lol. Looks like i need to go shopping!!
-Two loads of laundry -checked the non-registry video monitor we received (it's fine, I think the one I painstakingly researched is better, but this one is ok - night vision, doesn't connect to the wifi, etc). -opened the Exersaucer box to make sure it has all the parts, it's cute! -returned the stroller of infamy to the dreaded Walmart (they put the credit onto our bank card, I was shocked) -went to Target to try on maternity clothes and a couple new bras. Hated everything I put on my body. Hated everything in the entire world. -Am now exhausted and ravenously hungry
ETA: ended up just buying a NWT bra on eBay in the style/brand I already wear, just a size up, FX it fits reasonably well.
Our weekend was low key. Saturday was eaten by DH being called into work since his one guy on duty didn't show up (being the boss sucks in the military--my hubby feels personally responsible for making sure things happen even after 17 years in...). Yesterday (Sunday) was lazy including a long morning nap for me while the kids played outside with DH. I've been binging on old Law & Order SVU episodes lately and watched almost an entire season over the weekend. Whoops! It's Spring Break for our oldest this week & since we get to head back to the States two weeks from now, I'm busy trying to get things done to get our house ready to be vacant for 3 months (DH deploys shortly after we leave).
We also are joining WIC today...which I feel semi guilty about....things are just so damn expensive here (seriously we spend double the amount on food) and without my income, things are right. I guess I feel I shouldn't need to do this?!
@jutondreau don't feel guilty! WIC is amazing. I think it's a very good program, and I wish MORE mommies had access to it. My sister had it with my first niece and it really made a huge difference!!
