I *love* Dunkin. They used to have an Oreo coffee that I'm convinced was sent down from the heavens and that summer, sometimes I went to get one twice a day.

@jena333 I didn't think the general post was flame worthy (even though these sorts of posts always seem to turn out this way). I just didn't appreciate her attitude after people responded.

Did she really not understand how weight can be an touchy issue? We had a discussion on the plus size board about being too self-conscious to post on HDBD. She might also have seen that multiple plus size moms specifically said how self-conscious we were when we finally posted on HDBD (those of us that have). It was just a bad day for the thread for me, because I was literally discussing how self-conscious I am about my weight/belly on here this morning.

I love DD coffee, too! Starbucks is too bitter and empty tasting to me. Nothing beats a local coffee shop though. 

Another confession: when I'm feeling bad about my parenting skills, I watch 16 and pregnant reruns and feel better.

My FFFC is I was reading this thread, saw some comments about the weight gain thread, jumped off with the quickness to check that thread out. I love some good entertainment.

 I also agree that her intentions could have been good but it turned bad real fast with her lack of understanding how sensitive of a subject this.

@Becky012016 I watch Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant whenever I need to feel better about my life. Like, no matter how bad things are, at least I'm not 16 and pregnant.

i don't care either, but DH does...and he gets upset about it when I just slap it on there "incorrectly"

I switch the toilet paper the right way if I ever encounter it the wrong way regardless of where I am, even if it's someone's house.

@Swazzle I am the same way, unless the person has a pet, b/c sometimes they do that on purpose. But the toilet paper needs to be facing the right way!

My FFFC- a handful of DH's ex girlfriends that tried to get back together with him when he and I were dating (oh yeah at least four... nice right?) have requested me on instagram and Facebook. I accept their requests for the sole purpose of bragging. Yup we got married in a beautiful intimate ceremony, and we have TWO babies. It feels so good. Plus I love sharing photos of DH because he has gotten 1000% sexier since high school. He was kind of awkward but in a very sweet, you'll grow into it way lol. 

Also, about the weight thing. I gained 76 pounds during my first pregnancy. I did it to myself by eating like shit and being lazy. Whatever, lesson learned. This time, my weight is my biggest concern. I obsessed over it for the first couple months. Like in an unhealthy I-don't-want-to-gain-ANY-weight way. I'm not going to compare my weight gain to others because I don't need the stress. I don't need to hear that someone else has lost 10 pounds while I'm here hating myself for every pound I gain. I'm comfortable talking about my weight, I'm 144 right now, wanna know my BMI? Sure. But I'm not gonna have a pissing contest about it. 


And thats my two cents. Not that anyone cares.

omg since we're talking about toilet paper.... I didn't realize this was weird but apparently I'm a minority.  FFFC - I like, semi-stand to wipe on the toilet.  DH was appalled when he heard this.  & I totally don't understand his way b/c then your hand is like, IN the toilet.

I'm sitting in the Wells Fargo parking lot waiting on my kid to wake up so we can go inside and people are looking at me funny because I'm literally laughing out loud right now

@wyomama0427 I gained a lot of weight during my first pregnancy too and felt awful the whole time comparing myself to others. I had the same mentality at the beginning of this pregnancy and have now said screw it. I can't workout really because of this weird back/butt pain so I'm just accepting it. Maybe my body needs to gain this much weight. Who knows. So long as I have a healthy baby and can lose it after I'm all good.

My best friend is bulimic, and sometimes crosses the "appropriate" line when talking about how other people look/what they eat. I'm her first fat best friend (my words, not hers), so we have discussions in a frank way that I don't think she's ever been able to before, and I'm able to gently point things out to her. Example: my husband and I just recently met and had dinner (CHIPOTLEEEEEEEEEE!!!!) with her new boyfriend. She was telling us, in front of him, how she "actually" really enjoys how "big and squishy" he is. And I was just like...... So we chatted about it the next day, and I pointed out to her that she knows weight is a sensitive subject, and it was an awkward thing to say. In her mind she was complimenting him and his body.

So in my brain I was thinking teachable moment. (I hope that doesn't come off like a sanctimony pony.) Some people really don't get that it can be an uncomfortable subject.

I tried to bring up this point in-thread, I hope it came across well. I had an eating disorder when I was younger, and it's a monster that does not go away. I can go months or years without a struggle, and then it can come out of no where and beat me up without any warning, and the triggers can be seemingly innocent things, like a comment about how thin I look in a certain outfit, or feeling fat when I pass a mirror- things that have happened a million times, but for whatever reason that day I'm extra vulnerable to. I haven't been triggered by anything today (I'm so thankful I've been doing really well so far during this pregnancy), I just hope no one else was either.

It effing sucked last time when I gained exactly what the Doctor wanted in the correct time frame yet the bmi on my chart kept increasing. Now all I can think about is gaining a healthy amount again and still seeing that bmi going over to obese. Like, I'm doing everything right but I'm still "failing". So seeing other people gaining less than me puts me in an unhealthy place with my food relationship.

I have another FFFC inspired by the weight thread: I'm neutral when it comes to the Gosling/Reynolds argument. Both hot, both make good movies. Why do we have to choose one?

I personally don't think BMIs even matter when your pregnant. I mean, your pregnant. I wouldn't worry about that at all!

Until the Weight thread I didn't even know there was an argument. I like Gosling too, but no one will ever replace Reynolds IMO.

Mmmm...FFFC...i just blocked someone from cutting me in traffic. Like SUPER obviously. 1st of all i didnt leave a gap for this yukon to merge in illegally from across traffic. So when he pulled up, i thought he was just gonna chill in the middle until traffic got moving and he could pull thru. NO. He scooches up and barely gets the corner of hia bumper infront of me (like i cant see him...) and i, i move around that corner and get up closer to the car infront so if the Tahoe goes forward another inch he's hitting me. Sooo when we got moving again i got a lot of horn in diaapproval hahaha. Then further up they tried to let someone across and ended up getting  blocked and blocking 2 lanes of traffic trying to do so. People are stupid.


Eta: i know I'm a horrible person but improper highway etiquette is a pet peeve of mine, and i respond with road rage lol.

@labby18 Maybe it's because I drove in Baltimore for 5 years, but I regularly honk at people who don't do normal highway etiquette things.  Yesterday, it was a woman who refused to get into the left lane while I was merging on the highway, even though there was *no one* even remotely nearby.  I try to be a calm driver, but stupidity on the road annoys the hell out of me.

I absolutely would have done the same thing as you, and almost certainly would have been flipped off. Massholes are terrible on the roads, and I've lived here long enough that I've become one, for better and for worse. At least I yield when merging onto the highway, which most don't.

I was driving in Cambridge today and saw an SUV with New Hampshire plates half-parked facing THE WRONG DIRECTION ON A ONE-WAY STREET. He acted like I was nuts to ask if he was planning to stay in the spot. I just kept wondering how he got there in the first place... I guess my FFFC is that I DESPISE drivers who live in the suburbs attempting to drive and park in the city because they do not ever seem to know what they're doing.

@mrs_tacos I too struggled with an eating disorder when I was younger. You're right, it never fully goes away. I gained a lot with DS1 & then not quite enough with DS2. I started this pregnancy with 10 lbs more than my starting weight with DS2 and was at first really discouraged with myself. Choosing to eat for the health and growth of baby is a daily struggle for me this go around. I'm glad you ladies stuck up for those who struggle with that being an issue and an inappropriate setting for that topic. The snarky responses from OP were...well a demonstration of her maturity level in my opinion.
