@chailife34 Hope all is well @OmegaRose3 WTF in laws! Especially SIL! After all of that, I would probably take the edibles and smear, crumble, what ever will make a nasty mess all over her room with them. I understand sometimes things slip out of the mind that shouldn't when kids are around, but that is zero tolerance in my book.
MH and I were lying in bed cracking up over this hilarious text he just sent his brother when DS comes running over and basically goes to do a bounce landing on the bed but instead catches my belly and SUPER sensitive belly button before landing on the bed. My laughter goes immediately to tears. Ouch!
My (child free) brother and SIL sent this to DD2 for her birthday. It's great and all but I no longer have a playroom since we need it for a nursery... where the crap am I going to put this in my already cramped house?! And in case you were wondering, that's 400 plastic balls... I told him payback is a bitch when he starts having kids... I'll send ALL the annoying toys.
Thanks for all the well wishes, ladies, it means a lot. I've been poked and prodded and have been admitted for 24-48 hours. They just gave me the first of two steroid injections to help with developing the baby's lungs in case of birth before 34 weeks when baby's lungs are stronger (currently 32w4d). That shot hurt so bad, I'm not looking forward to the second one tomorrow, but I'd much rather the baby be protected. I've also had an extensive ultrasound to check the placenta and we're waiting for the doctor to deliver a baby via csection to see if she knows what caused the bleeding. In the meantime, I'm sitting here literally watching the clock tick. Grateful for you all for the company!
@CherryBananas Probably not without causing some major issues...DH is a lot more figuring than I am too so it makes it hard for me to say it's the final straw. I'm just biding my time and hoping for the best... @absbubbs Her room is so messy that she legitimately wouldn't notice if I did...It would be one thing if she wanted to do that somewhere else, she's old enough to make that choice for herself, but not in my house where I have my 1yo who could mistake it for a snack. I've also said many times that I don't mind controlled drinking, but I don't want her around people who are using, she might be too young to understand it now, but it's just not appropriate in my eyes
@hp_momma do you have a covered porch? I would put it outside. I bought a big bag of balls like that from Walmart for DD and I throw them in the kiddie pool with her and they stay outside.

No covered porch! Seriously makes no sense either considering it rains 24/7 here... it would be nice to be able to at least go outside and not get poured on.
I'm leaving it out for now while the weather is crappy so they can be entertained but once summer comes around it's getting boxed up. Hopefully we PCS soon and have a playroom at the next house.

Wow, big update. What a freaking day! The ultrasound tech that did my 20w AS completely missed that I have a placenta previa. Thankfully my body alerted us to it with the bleeding this morning, because it turns out I'm going to have a c-section instead of the out of hospital waterbirth we were planning. The baby and I are healthy and stable right now and it's basically turned into a choose-your-adventure now: if I bleed again, I'm staying put until csection, if not, I can likely go home in a few days on bed rest. No more work. Hopefully we can make it to 34-37 weeks but obviously that's dependant on how things go.
Holy shit, guys. What a complete change in our plans but I am so glad we discovered it now rather than in an emergency situation later. I'm feeling calm now but am scared, especially as you can imagine, because we planned to go as low-medical-intervention as possible and now this is the total opposite. Whew!
@chailife34 wow!! So scary, but so glad they found it before you went into labor! Good thing is now you can prepare yourself mentally and physically a little more. Sorry about bedrest! FX baby keeps cooking!
@chailife34 oh man! I'm glad that it was caught now. I'm sorry that you're not going to get the birth that you wanted. Praying that baby keeps cooking for a bit longer!

Placentas can move (mine was low on all 3 growth u/s when my bladder was ill and moved up after I peed), any chance that it wasn't there at your 20w? Either way, I'm glad you discovered it now and not later!! I hope you can go home soon and rest at home instead of remaining admitting until the delivery.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
@chailife34 oh my goodness! I am so relieved that it was found today as that could have been an unpleasant surprise later . I am glad you are both stable and hopefully the bleeding will subside so you can make it a few more weeks. Please keep us posted.
I can't afford this Army life y'all. Command is going to be so expensive. Blahhh. DH just informed me he has to buy his guide on, it's $150. This isn't even an expense I thought of. So heads up @WombThereItIs@hp_momma@clebl24 (your DH is in CCC too right?). FX we get away with $400 in catering expenses for Change of Command!
@chailife34 what a crazy change in plan but I'm glad they caught it now than later! A blessing in disguise actually. Fx there's no more bleeding and you can go home and relax and be with your family.
@chailife34 Oh wow. I'm so glad you went in and they caught it now, but I'm so sorry your birth plans have to change so much from what you wanted. You seem to be handling it well, though. Sending lots of positive vibes that the bleeding stops and you can wait as long as possible before needing that csection.
@bacorrea It's so annoying the amount of random crap that comes up to buy and always at the last minute so your not prepared! This is my little bitch fest in regards to it... the lack of uniform allowance for officers! I mean I *know* the pay in general is more but seriously I swear we pay WAY more for uniforms/patches/accessories now than when he was enlisted!

@hp_momma I know. I try not to complain to my friends that have spouses on the enlisted side, but seriously all the stuff officers are required to do takes up all that "extra" pay. DH had a dining in and then some kind of formal next month. Plus all the hail and farewells and the money for gifts and Ocall. I'm just like ahhhhh sometimes. We have a lot of debt. This was a second job for DH so the Army paid for his undergrad debt but we both have master degrees and I have my undergrad. Now with two kids, I am a bit concerned about the cost of Command.
@chailife34 Glad they caught it! Sounds like you're in good hands with some time to mentally prepare. I hope the bleeding stops so you can get home to your family for a bit.
My bitchfest: I witnessed some world class parenting tonight. (Sarcastic font). We live in a newer neighborhood that is surrounded by not so great neighborhoods. Tonight, a dad and his 2 toddlers drove to our neighborhood park. I'm assuming they don't live in our area since they drove. The park takes up about 3 full city blocks and includes a playground, full court basketball, & a huge grassy area. The playground is surrounded on 2 sides by streets. When we get to the park, dad and kids are at playground. Daughter is somewhere in 1-2 yo range. She's in way too small clothes and a bulging diaper. Son looks 3. I leave DH to play with DD at playground so the dog and I can walk laps to lower blood sugar. As I walk away, I see the dad leave his kids at the playground & walk over to play basketball with a bunch of guys who are already playing. I make a complete loop of the park in about 10 mins. Then I sit at the playground for another 10. This whole time, the dad never comes back and barely looks over to make sure his kids are ok. Daughter is eating sand by the handful. Then, when it's time to go, he swoops over, grabs the kids, and throws them in his car with no car seats to drive off. Ugh. Those kids could have ran into the road in front of a car before he got to them even if he was watching. Or the little girl could have climbed up the playground equipment and fallen. It's geared towards older kids. I'm was all kinds of judgey.

I totally understand and we are right there with you. Hopefully with the lower cost of living in El Paso you can breathe a little easier! I about had a heart attack when I got back to WA this week and saw gas at almost $2.90. It was only 2.10 back home in Arizona!

@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Ugh that's awful. I'm glad the kids ended up being okay, but the parenting was not okay. We were at our neighborhood playground last weekend where there was 3 or even maybe a small 4yo girl playing by herself in the sandbox. Nobody seemed to be watching her or coming to check on her. Turns out her family was playing badminton or something and there was a long line of bushes between her and the family so they could not see her well either. It really irked us.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Ughh I hate to be in view of bad parenting and have to bite my tongue to not yell at the parents! I totally would have got his license plate number and called the police though to report no car seats! Not cool at all!

@RainyDays86 my friend had a prescription for her 3rd tri. Her last two weeks she spent sleeping sitting up on the couch. Talk to your md they can help
My mom strikes with the weight comments again. She wants me to send her pictures, so I sent her one yesterday and said "here's me at almost 8 months pregnant!" Her response was "you look so pretty! and big....." I replied back that yeah, that'll happen at 8 months pregnant. She's lost her picture privileges.

@hp_momma maybe after his school it will get better because I swear 90% of the time I have no idea what you guys are talking about with command and whatnot. I think the more clinical MOS get a bit of a break? Even after the promotion this week and upcoming PCS it still won't be a command position, hooray. We live by lots of non medical folks and they always seem surprised how little hooah nonsense is on our lives, hopefully you catch a break soon!
24-hr urine collection is disgusting. And annoying. And requires planning. Glad it's only 24 hours and here's hoping my proteins are normal. I've been +1 protein in my uribe for 3 screens since Thursday. If this comes back high they will do steroids in fear of pre-e:/
@RainyDays86 ugh the heartburn is real! Drinking milk actually gives me a little relief. I know its one of the things that can either help, or make it worse. Protonix is the best for heartburn (its an RX from the doc) and I believe its an ok'd one from the doc. I'm going to be asking my OB about it at my appt on Thursday.
@chailife34 , thinking happy thoughts for you! Keep us posted...
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot, bad parenting like that drives me CRAZY. I am all for not helicopter parenting your child at the playground, but it sounds like he wasn't even watching to make sure she was safe. And the lack of car seat? Ridiculous.
I'm late to this game, but want to bitch about one of my direct reports. His wife is pregnant, due in August and he just officially told me a few weeks ago. He is going to all doctors appointments with her, which is fine. I ask him to put them on my calendar, so suddenly a whole string of 30 minute appointments start popping up on my calendar. His first one was yesterday, booked from 1:00-1:30. I KNEW he'd be longer than 30 minutes, but figured he would learn his lesson quickly and adjust the calendar invites. So, he leaves as 1...and just DOESN'T COME BACK. He's salaried, so it's not like his hourly pay is getting docked, and I try to be a really flexible, non-hour counting boss, but COME ON. I am the type that scheduled every one of my doctors appointments for either the 8:00 am slot so that I could make it into work by 9:00 or the lunch time slot so that it doesn't really interfere. I get that appointments are at the mercy of the doctor's schedule, but I'm not ok with taking a half day without notification for what I know was likely just a "how's it going?" monthly check up. I'm reserving my anger in case he comes in and tells me something went horribly wrong because then I would feel like a terrible person.
@kipperoo I would be upset too. I try to schedule mine for as late in the day as possible because my dr office always takes at least an hour. so if i schedule 3:30 or 4:00 with it only being 10 min away i can minimize the time i'm out of work! I'm salaried too, but feel bad being gone so long!
