On a different note, my 5 year old niece developed a sure fire induction method. She put her face up against my bump and yelled "come out baby!".
This was in response to her asking me when I'm going to have the baby and me telling her that I don't get to decide, the baby decides when they are ready.
I just had a major last minute panic. We put the bassinet in our room last night near the bed to test it out (I know - super late because I'm due tomorrow) and it's GIGANTIC. It's nearly the length of the bed! Our bedroom is pretty small and it's just the total wrong thing. It's a flat rocking bassinet that came as part of something that transforms into a pack and play as LO gets bigger. But we imagined the bassinet part being much smaller. Once we put it together- we had to order something different. I'll bring this one to keep at my mom's house for visits so it won't go to waste. I ordered the swivel Halo bassinet to replace it. That one seems a bit more space-friendly but also safe and rated well.
I got 4 hours IN A ROW of sleep last night!!! That is the longest stretch I've had since the night before I went into labor! Hallelujah. DS then spent the entire morning unconsolably fussy, haha. Totally worth the trade-off, though.
In other news, if you need something to binge watch on Netflix, I highly recommend "The Great British Baking Show." It's cute and calm and will make you want cake.

@jenny0228 We have a crib and a cradle in our house, yet DS has spent all of his time in the Halo bassinet that someone happened to hand-me-down two weeks before his birth. Good investment, I think you'll love it!

Did anyone feel really great right before they went into labor? Like a "calm before the storm" type of thing?
I'm just looking for some hope. Feeling the best I've felt for a few weeks today. Physically, I feel great. Mentally, I just want LO to be here and am one impatient mama.
How the crap is it almost April!? It's almost Easter!? Oh my gosh.
After typing that, in my head then I think.... which means it's practically almost summer and I still have twenty-five pounds to loose for bathing suit season.
My son got the hiccups this morning and got mad, and has been crying nonstop for 2 hours now. He's a fuss budget anyway, but that's a new record for him.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to calm him down when he just won't stop crying? I don't care how weird they are. I've tried everything I can think of, including just letting him sit and cry alone for a while. The only thing that's ever worked in the past when he gets like this is having someone else hold him, but I'm home alone the vast majority of the time.
Right?? Whenever my girl is in my bed, she's silent and lays perfectly still. When she's in her bassinet, she grunts, wheezes, startles, and makes this little noise that reminds me of doves or puppy Lady crying in Lady and the Tramp.

Hmm, hiccups could mean gas. Have you heard of the colic hold? I'll post a picture in a second....
@ShannonJ96 have you read Happiest Baby on the Block? There are great tips in there to induce the calming reflex. Suck swaddle shush side position swing ...? It's been a long time since I read it.
@longliveregina I'll have to try the arm drape. He hates the colic curl and leg pumping. Sometimes the reverse colic curl will help for a minute or two, though earlier I tried that and he got quiet and gave me this really intense angry look and balled up his hands into fists. Am I a terrible mother for finding that a little funny?
The little dude got his first chiropractic adjustment today. She mentioned his neck was tight (I figured, he's preferred one direction since being born) and that he might sleep and/or poop a lot today. Of course, instead he's been more awake than normal. I also got adjusted for the first time since delivery. I feel ten times better.

@Cbeanz Glad you're enjoying it!! It makes me want to bake things but LO doesn't sleep for long stretches. My sister very kindly made me scones so I could at least still reap the benefits of baking

@longliveregina Thanks for the tip. He calmed right down when I did the arm drape this morning. I told my fiance about it, and apparently that's what his dad used to always do with him when he had colic. That was kind of fun to learn.
Also/re:HDBD/LOW I've just gotta say we have some pretty adorable babies here ladies!! I still stay in touch with my first babes bump group - and do LOW - It's so crazy and fun to watch these kiddos grow up together. And, Before you know it these babes will also be toddlers.
Nothing makes you want to slow down time like Parenthood does!!
Anyone have 2 or more kids who looked just alike when they were infants? My boys are almost 3 years apart and they're newborn pics are practically identical. It's insane because they literally look like the same baby. My oldest, Oliver, is on top and Avery on the bottom.
Yes!! Here are my two babies!! (Older DD on top) Can't wait to see the differences pop up as DD2 gets older because right now all I see is similarities
My kids are the opposite. I feel like DS is a mini DH and DD is a mini me. He came out with no hair, my chin and DHs complexion. She was born with lots of dark hair (DS finally grew strawberry blonde hair) her fathers chin and my complexion. I'm interested to see if they look more similar as they get older .
My oldest 2 looked very similar when they were little. I have a picture of them both in snow suits in their car seats and outside of the fact one is in blue and one in pink I would swear it was the same baby. Last time I looked for the picture I couldn't find one of them. Wanted to put it aside to see if this new one looks the same.
All the pictures of the siblings are SO cute! It's crazy how similar some of them look!!
My random for this morning is the Bump randomly changed my username & I'm not sure how to change it back to my original one of just "serenity13"...I emailed them but has anyone else's changed out of the blue?
My boys have similarities, but are definitely each their own person! Some of your babes look identical! Here are my two each at one month... at this point T weighed over 10 pounds, and Atticus isn't even 8 yet.
My Random, my not so little guy has been chugging milk since 3 am like he's in a hot dog eating contest. He just crashed hard. Not the career I had seen for his future.
Happy cup of coffee! Hoping my little guy, who is rapidly growing to be not little, will give me a nap today. Yesterday he was fussy from 11 am until 9 pm.
Today is officially my last day of work until the end of June! They're admitting me for an induction on Monday if lo doesn't decide to arrive over the weekend.

Thank goodness for amazon prime! haha!
My random is that I totally gave in to the pacifier after DD woke up at 7:45 and didn't go back down until I gave it to her at 11!

@EnglishTeacherMama love that show!! I just finished Canada's Worst Driver on Netflix, which is kind of disturbing, but also hilarious.

Our attempt to help baby calm down and bond with daddy, it's Goodnight Moon.

I'd try the arm drape

@kiyamurph They really are identical and so cute!!!
@kjd291 I love your little chubby girls!!! So beautiful and definitely look alike! Those cheeks though
My oldest on the left. The pictures don't do justice how much they look alike. But WOW you guys, your little ones are so identical!!
