Gender predictions!

I've actually always been one of those people who *doesn't* want to find out gender. But I love all the old wives' tales and whatnot to "predict" gender.

Has anyone here tried anything to predict gender yet?
What were your results?
Anyone else NOT plan on finding out?

Happy Tuesday!

For fun I tried the Chinese Gender Chart which predicted a girl. Of course being a science nerd myself I put very little stock in this but it was fun  :)

I would love to be surprised at the birth, but my husband refuses to wait that long. I've checked the Chinese Gender Chart on here, and it's saying boy. It was correct for my DD, so it could very well be right. I mean, it could be that we just want this one to be a boy so badly, but I have strong feeling this one is a boy. They say mother's intuition is usually correct, and it was also correct for DD. We wanted a boy then too, but I had a strong feeling she was going to be a girl. I think I did 10 old wives tales last time, and at the end, more went towards boy. Oh, well, lol

The Chinese gender chart is supposed to use your Chinese lunar age and the Chinese calendar. Using my actual age and regular calendar it says my DD and this pregnancy are boys. Using my Chinese age and calendar they are girls.

DH and I are both super planners and a little controlling so I'm guessing we will be finding out. We've talked a little bit about being team green but I doubt we'd be able to handle it. I go back and forth between calling the baby a girl or a boy. I'm leaning more towards thinking it's a boy, but who knows. Last night we talked about finding out but keeping it a secret. We have time to figure it out.

@ArtificialRed yeah I've shared our name ideas with only my trusted friends because I genuinely wanted their perspective and help to avoid like, awkward initials or something. But the general public can wait for that, too.

I am one of those people that sneak peaks at Christmas presents and could NEVER wait until the baby is born to find out. But what @av2323 said is kinda to my liking. I'd love to find out but tell everyone we're team green just to see them squirm.

We have 2 boys and 1 girl so we aren't really hoping for one sex over another but it would be pretty cool to have two of each.

Most of the old wives tales, and the Chinese chart, were wrong with DS. This pregnancy is so so so different already so of course everyone is saying it must be a girl. I have incredible respect for anyone who can stay Team Green. I gotta know. I'm already dreading the wait between our US and gender reveal and that's going to be like 2 days of wait lol

    Tourmalily  & av2323 kindred spirits! <3

I don't actually put stock in them either so much as I do think it's fun.

The Chinese calendar says boy and my O date (presumed- wasn't tracking) was the second day of the full moon, when it begins waning (also a boy).  DH and I lean boy, only because we already have DD but of course will be thrilled with a healthy, happy baby!

I have my first appt today so I'm excited to see location and heartbeat!

I tried the ring thing but I'm not sure I did it right and I'm not sure what the results were either... :p

Chinese gender predictor says boy but this was wrong for my son. Another boy would be wonderful. A girl would also be wonderful and I have a strong feeling for a girl so far. The hubs said he wants to find out at the anatomy scan like last time so it'll be awhile before we know. We also won't be spilling any names before birth.

DuchessOfCambridge, I'm the same with the "not really any MS and clear face."  The clear face was one of my first "weird" things because I ALWAYS break out on my cycle.

I'm more lax on the name front.  I feel like it's my compromise to gender surprise.  That and we don't actually have names chosen.  I mean I don't go around telling people, but I also don't mind if they ask what we're thinking.  I don't care enough about their opinion for it to ruin anything for me.  Also, DH likes really boring (read "plain") names so we won't have any reaction based on that...  He's the hardest one to agree with!  Half of me has a mind to stay open until we meet baby.  Maybe their "personality" will hit a name I never considered home and be "IT."

We are team Neutral, my husband's nickname is "The Vault" because he LOVES to keep things private so no gender reveal parties for this couple. Besides that, our boy's name is a given since it's handed down from generation to generation on my DH side. Not knowing gives adds the extra excitement of not knowing if this will be another "HBR IV" (boys initials). Another plus, I'm not a super fan of pink so I could do with the gender neutral baby shower.

I had two very different pregnancies and symptoms so I try not to put too much stock in old wives tales, but the chinese gender predictor was right with my 2 boys and this time its saying girl so who knows! I like the idea of a girl and DH is DYING for a girl, but ive really perfected my batman voice and think I'm a pretty good boy mom so the prospect of a girl kind of freaks me out!

I'm a boymom through and through and I have strong feelings that this is a boy. FI, on the other hand, has very strong premonitions that it's a girl.

Idk, I just so clearly picture him as a boy. I talked to my son throughout my first pregnancy and I've already started talking to this little embryo. Soooo if it's a girl, I'll have to apologize for calling her our boy's name.

We were team green with DD and will be again. Just hoping H gives me the correct sex at birth, unlike last time  ("its a boy?!", Dr "umm...no"). I agree it is so fun not knowing and ruffling everyone else's feathers  ("but how am I supposed to shop for baby?"). I found not knowing helped with labor too.

We share our name ideas because we don't want an outright revolt/mutiny on our hands. Each of the grandma's have already picked names for baby and we smile and remind them we are making the final decision.

@BayCamp honestly it's not patience for us so much as it's fear of gender (although really it's not gender, it's sex) disappointment. I really, really, want a girl. John really, really wants a boy. We both figured that when the baby actually arrives, we'll be too excited and exhausted to care anymore.

@kater-cole How do you find out your Chinese info?

Chinese prediction chart says boy for us. But I have been having dreams and feelings it's a girl.

@tlq0726 I used this site. Just put in your birthday and conception date or due date and it figures it out for you. It makes a big difference because my actual age is 27 but the way the Chinese figure age I was 29 at time of conception.

My first 2 were girls but a I have a feeling this baby is a boy!  We will be happy regardless of what sex as long as baby is healthy and happy!
  • Options
Even though DH is strongly itching for another little girl (DD is the 1st girl on his side in 5 generations) we will be happy as long as we have a healthy baby.

I just did the Chinese gender chart based on my lunar age and it was right for DD and this time it says boy. We will see come June if it's right. If I did my math right our ultrasound could fall right on our 4 year wedding anniversary.

    We are Team green!

That said, the Bump's Chinese Gender Prediction calendar was correct for both my previous two children. That's entertaining!

I tried it again this time and it said Girl. So it will be fun to see when baby arrives if it's 3/3.

Not team green... im a huge planner.

(Edited because wtf, bump. I had all this typed out and it deleted).

The chinese gender chart was right with DD. It says boy this time around, so we shall see.

We will love the baby either way, buy DH wants a boy with every fiber in his being because he is the last male with his last name. If its not a boy, we will likely try one more time... and that's a lot of pregnancy for this mama....

I'm team green but hubby wants to find out. We found out about 15 weeks last pregnancy so he wants to do that again so he can "prepare" if it's a girl. He's hoping it's a boy. I want a girl and my son and I both think we're having a girl. Chinese gender chart says girl as well and it was right for my son. We'll see how long I'll last in not finding out the gender.I'm a planner but if I find out I'm having a girl before she's born, then we'll be broke. haha

Team green here! We only had girls (including all of our cousins children!). My sister just gave birth to the first boy so that was exciting. Since I have DD and the pressure to have the first boy is off I am excited to wait. We are also huge planners so we are looking at it as a personal challenge to wait. I will be so happy if DD has a sister (bc I love having a sister) and I will be excited to have a boy bc I never grew up with boys so that would be a whole new experience. Plus, I am seriously not looking forward to labor and I read on my other bmb that team green made labor better since you were pushing to find out one of the biggest surprises of your life. However I totally get wanting to know-- it really helped me feel attached to my first pregnancy once I knew my daughters sex.

I really want a girl, but I know I'm gonna end up having like... 3 boys.  Just a gut feeling and running joke between me and my partner.  But really, boy or girl - as long as I'm having a baby it doesn't matter!

I would find out right now if I could! I'm really hoping for a girl, as I have 3 boys and a step son and a step daughter! Need to balance out the testosterone around here!

I have to find out...it helps me feel more connected to the baby.  Has anyone tried the ramzi theory? That's the only one that seems to be slightly more consistent in predicting gender from my experience....but I still don't count on it.  I'm supposedly having another girl according to that...hubby's freaking out haha!

We're finding out. It helps me bond - also why we have a name ready to go at the anatomy scan. I have no preference either way. I had a few really different symptoms with my son than with my daughter and so far I'm having the same symptoms I had with my son so my current guess is boy.

We're not finding out! Both DH and I are thinking it's a boy. Chinese chart says boy and some of the old wives tales say boy, clearer skin, always cold toes (seriously why can't my toes warm up!)  My SIL in pregnant and she will find out at the end of this month and is having a HUGE gender reveal party.

I think it's fun to wait until the end, my mom did with me and my brother.  My SIL thinks I'm crazy! We haven't told her that we're pregnant, we have talked about it before.

No way we could be team green this time. We have girl- boy- boy and we are kind of rooting for a girl to tie things up! Although, I do not think my Dd would mine being the only girl! We are doing genetic testing this time since I am pushing AMA so we will know gender early.
