Hello!
How far along are you? 31 weeks
How big is baby? A bunch of asparagus
Any appointments this week? Not until next Tuesday, but I am taking my first baby care class today and then a safe sleep class on Thursday.
Symptoms? Heartburn, frequent restroom trips, and large appetite
Rants/Raves/Questions? Excited for my baby shower this Sunday
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? Ummm...I guess Monopoly was the only game I remember playing as a family back when I was younger. I also remember playing Battleship with my brothers and sister.
@mrscpaleslie how awesome your shower is this weekend! I have just shy of 2 weeks for mine! UGH!
How far along are you?
33 Weeks!
How big is baby?
A cauliflower blossom or durian fruit?
Any appointments this week?
Nope, next Tuesday.
Symptoms?
Heartburn, trouble sleeping, uncomfortable, what feels like punches or head butts to my cervix occasionally
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Last Wednesday we had an appointment and everything looked great! Only thing is he was measuring 34 weeks instead of 32 weeks and approximately 5.7 pounds! Now I know these measurements can be slightly off but I was taken aback by how much bigger he measured. My doctor assured me it is fine since everything (head, torso and legs) are all consistently measuring 2 weeks ahead but I am concerned about giving birth to a big baby! We go back next week for another check up and they will measure him again via ultrasound. Good thing is at least my low lying placenta moved up with my uterus so vaginal delivery should be no problem unless he is too big. Anyone else here measuring ahead?
Team Pink/Blue/Green?
Blue
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family?
Believe it or not my family wasn't big on playing board games together. I do remember playing Life, Clue and Monopoly a lot with my friends though!

How big is baby? Cucumber/platypus/motorcycle helmet.
Any appointments this week? Today! Just a checkup. All is good, and I got some reassuring info about how a c/s typically goes down at the hospital where I'm delivering (baby staying with us the whole time, baby on chest as soon as possible). It sounds like it's going to be much better than my experience last time at a different hospital.
Symptoms? Eh, just general slowing down. I used to breeze through Target on my weekly trips, and now it's more of a slow trudge.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've started getting stuff out of storage, which is exciting. I was pretty uptight about how I stored the baby equipment (car seat, bassinet, swing, RNP, etc.), and so far everything looks clean and just smells a bit stale from being stored. Anyone going nuts cleaning all the old stuff, or are you just airing it out?
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Girl
GTKY: What is your favorite game to play as a family? We played a lot of Monopoly and Clue growing up. Honestly, though, I've never cared for board games and always inwardly groan when people bust them out at get-togethers. I'd rather just hang out and talk.
@MrsCPALeslie - Enjoy your baby shower!
@lilylover27 - Glad your placenta shifted! I was measuring ahead about a week in the beginning, but now everything seems to have evened out. Measurements can always be off a bit. Last time I was on track to deliver an 8-pound-plus baby and ended up with a tall skinny guy just shy of 7 pounds. You never know!
@MrsCPALeslie Woo hoo for your upcoming baby shower!
@lilylover27 There is a hospital bag thread somewhere that had tons of good ideas if you missed it. Baby has measured big this pregnancy as well. DS measured large too, but not as big as this time and he ended up being 8lbs 2oz. I am worried I may be having a 9lb baby. Also durain fruit is the nastiest smelling thing ever!!
How far along are you? 31 weeks
How big is baby? Coconut
Any appointments this week? Nope, just blood work yesterday.
Symptoms? Shooting pains that start in my groin and go down my right leg and easily exhausted. It is getting so hard to carry DS and his diaper bag. In just a diaper he is 31.5lbs, but it is my only form of exercise at this point.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: My platelets dropped 9,000 in 4 weeks (down to 86,000). I am hoping the rate of decrease slows, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. It would set me to be about 65,000 at due date, which is where I was last delivery. It had hovered around 95 for the last couple months and I was so hoping it would just stick there. Oh well. Officially kissing an epidural goodbye
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Team Blue for a second time
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? I love games. DS is too young so most games we play are not for kids (hard) or completely not kid safe (inappropriate). I love Cards Against Humanity, Exploding Kittens, Settlers of Catan, Flux, and Joking Hazard. I use to like Apples to Apples a lot until Cards Against Humanity came out and now that game feels boring, because I am a horrible person.

@Louise_Belcher oh I will have to find that thread, thanks! Let's hope our babies are under the 9 pound mark! But of course still healthy!

@MrsCPALeslie , I'm sure it's so exciting to be looking forward to your shower!!
@lilylover27 , those ultrasounds are somewhat precise but always seem to be a little off. Hopefully he won't be TOO big! Glad that your placenta shifted! That must be a relief!
@slomo , I have a hard time believing that a cucumber and a platypus are the same size! Maybe I've just never actually seen a real life platypus? Hmmm...
@Louise_Belcher , I'm so sorry that the epidural is likely out of the question for you. That must be so frustrating. Keeping my fingers crossed that the trend reverses for you.
How far along are you? 33 weeks! 3 weeks to induction date--eep!
How big is baby? The size of a store bought loaf of sliced bread (according to my signature)...
Any appointments this week? Ultrasound and appointment tomorrow with my MFM team!
Symptoms? Disrupted sleep, lots of kicking and painful movements, heartburn, craving sweets, stomach feeling stretched...big ball o' happiness over here!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Get ready to call the whambulence...haha...I had a tiny meltdown this weekend with DH because lately I feel very alone in this pregnancy and it feels like no one is as excited or even closed to involved as they were with my first (including DH). I've always been the type to not wait around for others to do things for me and instead do them myself (usually leading to a more favorable outcome anyway because I end up getting what I want from the start). But for some reason, I'm really annoyed that I'm the one basically getting everything ready for this baby. Initially, he looked at me like I was crazy, but since the conversation, I've noticed a change in him and he seems to be trying harder to be supportive. And I'm trying to keep myself in check--like, am I REALLY annoyed that I need to buy some swaddle blankets and pacifiers and other various odds and ends that I've been saving in case a family member asks if we need anything? No, of course not, because it's not like I can't buy them myself and at least I know I'll be getting what I like. But it's the lack of care/concern that's driving me batty. I know I've complained about this before, so SORRY and thanks for giving me a space to annoyingly vent!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink!
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? We aren't big game people...mostly card games and usually just with alcohol involved.
@lilylover27 I didn't really go by any list I remembered the necessary items I used last time around and made my own list! Check out the Hospital Bag thread! Lots of great suggestions there. One of our ladies made a great spread sheet, you should check it out

@lilylover27 count me in for worrying about a big baby. Had an US Saturday and per those measurements she is measuring two weeks ahead. I had a nb and 3 month bringing home outfit and decided to take the nb back.
@MrsCPALeslie Have fun at your shower! I had so much fun at mine and also coming home with all the goodies to go through with DH was exciting and made everything feel real.
@Louise_Belcher I'm sorry about your epidural. That's one thing I'm going in with certainty that I want but am also worried that things happen and I might not get one.
Happy Spring Ladies!
How far along are you? 31 weeks
How big is baby? Foam finger
Any appointments this week? Had one today. Nothing new. Was hoping to get a PT referral for my SPD but he said there isn't really any help for it.
Symptoms? Major SPD which makes anything I do painful. Starting to slow down more.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Had fun seeing little miss this past weekend. Nursery is officially done, bag packed now just waiting until May to put up pnp and bring some stuff down like the mamaroo and rnp.
Rant- having our roof re-done and I'm glad it's getting done but they showed up earlier than we were told (7am instead of 8) and now my girls (dogs) are freaking out bc of all the noise. Can't wait for this to be done but happy I insisted it be done before baby comes.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? Lots! Clue, phase10, euchre, cards against humanity (which I just found out there was a cards against muggles which I need in my life), pictionary for the wii, peanuts, spit etc. we played/play a lot of games. DH and I recently were on a puzzle kick and completed 4 puzzles in the last month or so.
@slowmo I'm glad you're looking forward to your c-section experience this time around
@lilylover27 I'm glad your placenta has shifted!
@Louise_Belcher I'm sorry your numbers are dropping. I know you were hoping for them to stay high so there would be a chance of an epidural.
@Kipperoo I can't believe how close you are! Three weeks!!! I'm glad your DH is stepping it up a little too. Don't apologize for venting to us either - we've all needed it at one point or another.
How far along are you? 32 weeks!
How big is baby? Size of a squash
Any appointments this week? OB on Thursday. I accidentally slept through my appointment last week. I'm planning on bringing cupcakes as an apology
Symptoms? More of the same. I am developing a crazy craving for sweets though! I'm usually a salty girl but lately all I want is chocolate.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so happy to have hit another milestone! I needed to reach 32 weeks to avoid delivering at a different hospital. We never thought I would stay pregnant for this long so I feel like celebrating everytime a new week rolls around.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? My family and most of my friends are big on games. Regulars are Cards Against Humanity, Settlers, Ticket to Ride, Boss Monsters, Phase 10, and Monopoly. DH isn't really into games but likes to do puzzles with me and we'll play Scrabble together once in a while.
Edited to fix what mobile ate
How big is baby? Butternut Squash
Any appointments this week? Weekly check in with OB this morning. All is normal and still planning induction in 3-4 weeks!
Symptoms? Pressure, so much pressure in my lower uterus. Painful pressure in the top of my uterus (under boobs) when she's spread out. Frequent trips to bathroom for a crushed bladder!
Rants/Raves/Questions? My uber-obnoxious co-worker has been picking his nose, followed by putting his finger in his mouth. I've gagged many times over the last two weeks but WTF do you say to that? He sits directly across from me. I told my boss because I seriously cannot handle that. He's really weird and not in a good way. In an "I called the cops on college students drinking" kind of way.I really, really don't like him AT ALL.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Team Pink
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? Cards Against Humanity. Nothing like hearing your 60 year old, Christian school teacher aunt say " dem titties".
How big is baby? Head of lettuce or Naked-Tailed Armadillo
Any appointments this week? Regular OB visit Friday
Symptoms? General uncomfortable-ness, KILLER heartburn last night and I had taken my pill
Rants/Raves/Questions? This isn't a rant, per se, just a comment... Every week I try to keep up with the Randoms thread. What if I can answer a question for someone? What if someone posts information that would be helpful to me? Inevitably, I fail to check it for like 3 hours one day and there are 157 new posts! Ain't no one got time to catch up...
Team Pink/Blue/Green? TEAM GREEN
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? I am sort of a board game nerd, and really enjoy games like Modern Art, Bohnanza, and Alhambra to name a few. I'll be excited when my kids are old enough to play!
@MrsFox2008 - Congrats on packing your bag! That is MAJOR progress.
@MrsCPALeslie - I hope you get a good haul at your shower!
@slowmo - I plan to wash the padding from the carseat, because I remember it looking dingy (sweat?) when we put it up. I'm hoping everything else can pass as clean.
@CherryBananas - Hope that baby stays put as long as possible!
How far along are you? 33 weeks
How big is baby? ~17.2 inches and 4.19 pounds... whoa!
Any appointments this week? Yesterday I had a quick check up. Baby's heart rate is strong and I'm measuring on track.
Symptoms? Baby boy dropped and it's just been even more uncomfortable
Rants/Raves/Questions? Suffering with allergies
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue x2
GTKY: what is your favorite game to play as a family? Growing up, we played a lot of cards. I do remember playing the classics with siblings and friends: Life, Monopoly, Connect 4, Clue, Operation, Battleship, Scrabble and Scategories.
DS1 7/24/15
DS2 5/7/17
@emilyalso girl youre not alone I can't keep up either! Yay for a scheduled date!
@CherryBananas that's definitely a reason worth celebrating!!!!
@SWE2 sounds like you're getting things ready as well sorry about the SPD, that sounds like no fun to deal with.
@Kipperoo I totally feel you on family/DH not being as involved as our first. I can kind of let DH slide he's been promoted since having our first so his position requires more hours at work so I get it he's busy and really occupied by that. But my ILs and other family they don't ask me how I am or seem interested at all. My mom on the other hand is awesome and has been very exciting about this LO just as much as our 1st so I've got her to chat with even though she lives so far away! glad your DH is trying to be more thoughtful and helpful
@Louise_Belcher I'm sorry to hear that. So this means you have to go med free for your birth?
@slowmo I went nuts cleaning all things that could be washed in the washer on gentle cycle. Airing it out wasn't going to cut it for me! I even plan to hose out the diaper genie and soak it with soapy water. DH thinks I'm going over board... nope!! Haha
@MrsCPALeslie yay for your shower. Hope you get all your big ticket items
Appointment went well today baby girl is still head down yay! It's been my biggest worry this baby would breech like my 1st.

@MrsCPALeslie Have fun at your shower this weekend. My lovely co-workers are throwing me one and it'll be in two weeks.
@lilylover27 Glad your placenta moved up and FX your baby doesn't get too big.
@slowmo I'm there with you with slow-moving these days. We didn't store anything except the crib pieces because we ended up donating it all (swing, walker, jumper...). We obviously weren't planning/thinking clearly at the time, lol. At least it sounds like they're in good shape and that airing them out in good ol' sunny sunshine will take away the staleness.
@Louise_Belcher Sucks knowing now that you can't get the epidural although I guess it's also nice so you can research all of your other options now.
@Kipperoo I can totally relate to how you're feeling with family/friends not really showing any love during this second pregnancy. I was just venting to MH about it yesterday, too. I had to let it go as I could have easily went down that deep, dark rabbit hole. Luckily, MH and my co-workers have been super supportive throughout.
@swe2 props getting all of that done!
@CherryBananas Yaye for making it to 32 weeks!
@fbmandy55 wow, in just 3-4 weeks, you be meeting your LO. And BOO to that gross co-worker of yours. Ew.
@emilyalso Dude, I feel the same way about the randoms thread. I end up reading it at night after my shift to tire my eyes and I just don't have the energy to try to tag and answer.
So something very interesting just happened. I just got a new phone and didn't have my Voicemail set up (thanks to the most helpful Sales guy ever, *eyes rolling). I missed a job offer I'd been waiting on (more of a transfer to a hospital closer to where I currently live and where our new house is being built). I was crushed and furious and everything else you could possibly feel. Then, I just got a call and was offered an even better position and took it! Ahhhhhhhhhh. So excited! But also sad because I grew so close to the crew at my current Department. I don't even know how to break the news...

@MrsFox2008 I've never actually packed a hospital bag! Yikes! With my first, I was planning to, and went into labor the morning I had planned to pack the bag. Daughter ended up in NICU for a week, being early and all that. Then somehow with younger daughter I didn't want to jinx myself (because that's a real thing. I know.) and so I never packed the bag. Then she came even earlier than older daughter did! (No NICU, though!) so, I can't decide what I'm going to do this time.
@lilylover27 I'm glad your placenta is in a better position! I'm sure that's a weight off of your shoulders!
@slowmo I've just been airing things out, unless it looks like it needs more than that.
@Louise_Belcher sorry about the no epidural. At least you know in advance so it won't be a slick at the hospital!
@Kipperoo I'm glad your husband is stepping up! I've found that with every pregnancy, the support and excitement of other family and friends is a bit less. I can kind of understand that, but it's still a bit frustrating.
@SWE2 yay for having your nursery done!!
@CherryBananas HOORAY for your 32 week milestone!! So exciting!!
@fbmandy55 EWWWWW!!!
@emilyalso when I've been busy and come back to a super packed random thread, I just start handing out love its like they're going out of style! And then I feel awkward trying to respond to something a hundred posts later, so I'm just and awkward lurker for the day. Like today!
@mrsrep123 congrats on the job offer! Hooray!!
Whew. I'm worn out! I'm good. 31 wks. Lots of toddler dramas today. Dr's appointment thurs. Still on limited activity for now. It's frustrating, but I'm happy to do what I can to ensure baby stays in as long as possible.
And congrats on the job offer, @mrsrep123!!

ETA: @0408Bear - I am happy to answer any extra questions you might have about a C. Nothing is off limits! Feel free to PM me if you want.
@Kipperoo I 100% agree with your rant. I had to call DH out a while back and ask him to at least pretend to be interested and involved. While part of me likes that this pregnancy gets to be low key compared to the last (first grandbaby on both sides and baby shower prep was a tad overwhelming), but I kinda feel like no one is interested except me and my mom.
@SWE2 Nursery done and bag packed! Holy moly I feel like a slacker.
@CherryBananas So happy you made it to 32 weeks!
@fbmandy55 Oh my! You are so close to meeting your little lady! Also that coworker is disgusting. I would have vomited. I also love Cards Against Humanities because its fun to watch my dad's face turn tomato red when everyone gives him their worst cards. My mom thinks all the cards should say balls and nearly pees herself when it is used.
@emilyalso Agreed on randoms. I have been such a lurker there because I usually don't get on much on Monday and by the time I do on Monday night or Tuesday there is just to much to actually respond.
@MrsFox2008 I can still have IV meds, just no needle in my back. Unfortunately the IV meds didn't do much for the pain last go.
@mrsrep123 Awesome about the job offer!!

@Kipperoo - I hear you on the husband front. I've done basically everything to get ready for this baby. In some ways, that's great because I have control over the decision making, but sometimes it would be nice to have him be a bit more excited about all of this, especially as I start to freak out about the thought of having two kids. I think he's mentally gearing himself up for another newborn (he did NOT do well when our son was a newborn with the crying and MOTN wakeups). Lately he has been scheduling a lot of evening events -- happy hours, business dinners, networking things, hockey games, etc. I get that it's smart to squeeze in as much fun as you can before the baby comes, but I'm totally jealous being stuck at home and unable to have so much as a glass of wine. Anyway, I didn't mean to go off on a tangent -- just wanted to say that I totally get it.
@emilyalso - I feel the same way about the randoms thread! Like I want to participate, but I feel like it's weird to comment on something from a couple pages back, and I don't get an opportunity to do more than read until the end of the day when I'm totally pooped.
@mrsfox2008 - My OCD nature got the best of me, and I stuck the bassinet portion of our mini PNP in the bathtub to soak. We didn't use it that much the first time around, but the water was still gross. Carseat is next!
@mrsrep123 - Congrats on the new job! What type of department?

Any appointments this week? I had my regular prenatal yesterday, which didn't go so well. My blood pressure was pretty high (144/88) and I had trace protein in my urine. They let me go without blood work because my bp came down to 122/82 but now I'm stressed that something is going on.
Symptoms? Cramping and contractions! Lots of trips to the bathroom too.
Rants/Raves/Questions? None this week, although any encouraging stories about the whole bp/protein thing would be nice. It sounds like there's really nothing I can do, though.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink.
