Have you gotten any weird or unexpected comments to the name?
We get a lot of "Are you shortening it to Harry or using his full name?" We introduce him as Harrison, so we intend on him being called Harrison.
Ha! you get the same question I do when it comes to my little boy. Funny how that is.
Harrison Vaughn
Are you still happy with the name you chose? Very much so, DH and I had this name cemented down for a boy's name since we found out I was pregnant.
Have you gotten any weird or unexpected comments to the name? *See chef'swife's quote XD (Although I will admit I shorten it to Harry every once in a while, DH won't though). We also get a lot of people saying that his name sounds very regal, which I think is kind of interesting. I wouldn't have pegged it as such.
Do you think LO fits their name? He looks like a Harrison to me. I'm honestly not sure what else could fit him better; I've never gotten the whole, "nope, he/she does NOT look like *insert name here*" I've always kind of found that to make more sense when the individual is older, not when he/she is a baby.
Am I still happy with the choice? I was never fully convinced that Oscar was the perfect name. I had wanted a biblical name, but we couldn't agree on one. My husband loved Oscar all along, and it was one of the few choices on our mutual list of names we could both tolerate. But his name has grown on me and I like it now.
Any weird comments? I have had a handful of people say, "Oh...is Oscar a family name?" I think they must think his name is old fashioned or something? Most people say they really like his name.
Does it fit him? Yes. It's hard to think of him being any of the other names we considered.
I still love his name. Of course he already has a few nicknames from his aunts and uncles (Em, Coop, bubba... I don't know where that one came from lol) I think it fits him, but I don't think it is my opinion that matters in the long run, it's his. Which sucks cause I won't know how he feels about it till he is much older.
Are you still happy with the name you chose? So happy with it. We do call her Asa as a nickname because her initials are ASA (pronounced (ay-suh)
Have you gotten any weird or unexpected comments to the name? Not really, but we get alot of "what an original or unique name" comments
Do you think LO fits their name? She sure does. She has a big happy personality and she is a little beauty. Her middle name Sharon is my grandmother's name and she brought the family together, and Athena def brings the family together and brings about love and happiness
Name: Gemma Are you still happy with the name you chose? Yes, we love it. I came across the name early in my pregnancy and loved it. I was nervous to tell DH because I loved it so much and I was worried he wouldn't. I told him shortly before we found out we were having a girl and he said "it's perfect, so if it's a girl we know what we're naming her." I couldn't believe we came up with a name so quick that we both loved, and we never changed our minds. We've been calling her Gemma since the anatomy scan and it's just perfect.
Have you gotten any weird or unexpected comments to the name? One person said "Oh that's my dog's name!" Haha. Other than that everyone just says it's really pretty.
Do you think LO fits their name? Definitely.
Anything else you want to share?
My mom calls her Gem Gem sometimes and it makes me cringe every time. I feel bad telling her to stop because she's so happy every time she says it, haha. I'm fine with just Gem or some other kind of nickname but for some reason Gem Gem just doesn't work for me. I don't shorten her name into any kind of nickname, just usually call her Gemma Bear or Baby Gemma, haha
