@MWoodside I am sorry to hear of your previous losses and triggering incident. Hopefully you are able to find some peace of mind and bring your BP back to an good level for you. Big hugs
I had a regular 34 week OB appt yesterday. Weight, fundal height, BP and heartbeat. Everything normal! Measuring right on track. Also baby is head down and has decended a bit.
Regular ob appt today at 34+3. My next appt is 36+2 and then weekly from then on with cervical checks! Ahhh!
Fundal height exact again. Hb still in the 150s....when does that start decreasing? Or does it not slow down to normal until the day of birth?
I told the doc I just feel tight allll the time and when he measured fundal height he's like "wow your skin really is tight!" Thanks dude! I know! I wonder if it means I'll get more stretch marks when my body tries to shrink back after.
Also finally admitted to him that I've been procrastinating on finding a pediatrician and asked who he recommended. So I'll probably be calling them tomorrow. Finally. Haha.
@HGRich yep, it takes awhile for baby's heartbeat to slow down and it is pretty gradual. So, after your baby is born it should still be about the same.

@MWoodside sorry for the trigger. Anxiety sucks, I wish I had some sort of great advice for you. Sending positive thoughts your way.
For those who mentioned the primrose oil-this is such a stupid ftm question but how does softening your cervix actually help? Do it reduce the chance of tearing? Speed up labor? Make labor come sooner?
Just had my appt today. Dr was running behind so I sat in the waiting room for an extra 1/2 hour. BP was good and low. I've gained 13 lbs. My OB is getting me antibiotics for this sinus stuff that I've been fighting for a month. Thank heavens! Fundal height measuring on track. She didn't say exact measurement though. And baby's HB was 120s-130s. That's kind of low isn't it? She wasn't concerned at all...
I have my next appt at 36+3, with GBS test, then start every other week. So 38 and 40. If I don't go into labor, then 41 weeks. I got the info to order my breast pump, but I can't actually order it until I give birth, but the lactation consultant can help with all that as well. And I talked with her about breastfeeding and my concerns with my mastitis/abscess surgery last time and she didn't seem concerned and said my success rate would be just about the same as if that hadn't happened.
Had my routine 36 week appt today at 36+1. Fundal height was 36.5 so pretty much right on track. BP was 119/80 and total weight gain is 22lbs so far. My provider called it a "boring pregnancy" which I am grateful for. We had a little ultrasound and confirmed a head down anterior baby, so let's hope he stays that way! That was fun because my husband hasn't been able to be at an ultrasound since 10 weeks because he was deployed.... baby boy sure has grown since then! She also confirmed his head is on my cervix and his butt is between my ribs with his legs curled into the right side of my ribs which explains a lot of my right sided discomfort lately. All is good!
Oh, one last though. I had to do the group b swab, but I didn't realize I would be swabbing myself front and back. That was harder than it sounded . Is that how everyone does the GBS? I was fully expecting my doctor to do it for me, but I guess I just assumed.
That's what I thought! The intake nurse told me to do it myself and then left the room... I even asked for clarification because it seemed so odd. I'm actually a little uneasy that they made me do it because I don't know that I did it right like what if I get a false negative because I didn't do it right, couldn't that be dangerous for baby if I am actually positive and it just didn't show up because I didn't swab deep enough or something? I might ask them to do it for me at my next appt at 38 weeks since they'll be doing a cervical check anyway.
@BabyBlake042017 my midwives had me do it myself also. I agree it was somewhat difficult. I mean you don't have the normal visualization of your body that you would typically have when not pregnant! As long as you were able to place the swab I wouldn't worry at all. The cultures will show up if they're there or they won't!
Ok, glad I'm not the only one @BecNJake . I also got no instructions on how to do the swab, like is it just around the outside or are you supposed to do more than that? Sorry, graphic haha.
@BabyBlake042017 that is strange to me! I got a lot of instruction before and time to ask questions about it. You want to actually insert it in your vagina just so the swab is fully in there, then run the swab from front to back (to your rectum) and insert the swab up in there too. It doesn't have to go in very far, but the swab part should be completely inserted is what they told me. If you're concerned about it I would definitely bring it up at your next visit!
Regular check up today at 36wks 2days. My GBS came back negative and my blood pressure went down! I had consistent contractions for about 4 hours last night and today they said it was most likely his head descending further down and my body readjusting to it. She felt my stomach and showed me what body part was what which was pretty cool. He kept sticking his feet out of my side and would pull back in when we rubbed them then stick them back out like he was being playful. They start checking for dilation at 37wks if I want it which I can't decide if I want or not. I also was having problems with insurance covering my prenatals and the office just gave me two months worth of samples so I didn't have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get me through the last month of pregnancy and first month of nursing which I thought was really nice of them.
Had my GBS test today. BP was good 116/68. Heartbeat was 135-140. Doctor checked for positioning. Said the baby feels head down, but she isn't 100% certain because when I lay flat my stomach is soft (as a result of the craft skin stretching from my big old DS when I was pregnant with him). I go back in 2 weeks then start weekly appointments.
35+6 today and going to get waxed in about 15 minutes. Wish me luck!
JK! She did one strip and stopped. She said it wasn't long enough and I'd have to come back next week. I was all psyched up and now I gotta do it again in a week lol

@babyblake042017, yeah both times my doctor did the swab, I've never heard of anyone having to do it themselves - weird!
On that note, got the call that mine came back negative so that was exciting.
