A regular swing. We went with the Mamaroo and used it for maybe a month for my son. I'm just going with a swing this time. Need a new infant seat and stroller as we have given ours away to family. If baby #2 is a girl, a bunch of cute headbands to go with all those blue clothes she'll be wearing.
We sold a lot of our stuff after our 2nd because we thought we were done. So we need a swing, a pack n play, eventually a crib and change table or dresser with a change table top, bottles, a bigger diaper bag. Basically everything except clothes.
@krrpe99 the a&a curved burpy bibs have a little snap too, so they can be worn by baby! We ended up buying several of them after receiving two as gifts. Versatile to say the least!
We are Team Green this time around and have everything we need except boy clothes if we end up having a boy, so no plans to buy anything!
We have soo much baby stuff including so much that we never or barely used that it's a relief to not have to think about getting anything (and to tell family not to get us anything). I feel so bad about all the stuff they/we spent money on that ultimately didn't get much use!
We have a boy and a girl and everything saved, so practically nothing. We need new nipples for the bottles and a going home outfit. I might get a new playmat, since ours has been very well-loved, but that's it!
4th time mom here and we have NOTHING! Nothing! With my youngest we had a sweet family shower as there were 7 years between my youngest two and everone insisted. At that point I still had our crib. Now, 4 years after the youngest was born...I have nothing except the convertiable car set he sits in and two cloth diapers I hung on to and used through night potty training!
I can say, we will buy the minimum and we live in a community where you can buy lots of really awesome used items!

Right there with you. I had no plans to have another after having my 6yo - my husband had a vasectomy so we felt pretty comfortable getting rid of everything.
So we have literally nothing, but a much better idea of what we actually *need* so I think that'll be helpful. My son will probably get new bedroom furniture since we're about to move, so we'll use his shelving and dresser in the new baby's room. We'll need to buy a crib though, for sure. Somehow, we managed to hang onto his changing table, so that's something.
I suspect that my FI's family may want to put a shower together since it's his first and none of his siblings have any kids either, but it'd be pretty small since I wouldn't expect my friends to show up with gifts for my 2nd.

Yes to the "needs" part. I will need a crib and new infant seat, although I prefer to use a convertible seat. DS3 is 4 and we have used his seat from the time he came home (which was three months as he was a 26 weeker.) I always used infant carriers with my older two but when I realized how awesome baby wearing was...I prefer to ditch the infant seat!
My list looks a little like this:
-Crib -wrap/carrier -new lot of cloth diapers (I use them part time- when we are home) -new breast pump -new bottles/pacis -probably a new swing or bouncer
I am so excited to put a teeny tiny in my kinderpack. I rarely wore Mr. 6 once he outgrew the Moby - definitely plan on wearing as much as I can this time around.

I really would like to get a video baby monitor, a baby carrier and clothes. We still have all of DDs but even if this baby is a girl they will be born in different seasons.
I was thinking about a double stroller as well but DD will be 3 1/2 when the baby is born and I heard that most of the seats on double strollers don't really fit them well. So I may lean more with a sit and stand.
I forced myself to get rid of the video monitor because I found myself staring at it making sure my kids were breathing still and not sleeping. At all. So this time I want to get either the owlet or the Snuza. At least have a little peace of mind, but I'm not afraid of not waking up if they're crying, as baby would be in the next room. I could see needing the monitor if baby was farther away. Other than that, I basically threw everything but the crib away, but know what my essentials are so I won't end up with too much "stuff"
A&A swaddling blankets, swing, bassinet, infant car seat, high chair and bibs/burp cloths. I will also need clothes but my kids had WAY TOO MUCH and I plan on trying to reign myself in on buying clothes. Later I will get a new jumperoo but know I wont need it for a few months after baby comes.
@MKMandeville we rented a city mini double stroller while we were in disney last year and it fit my then 5 year old just fine! I have a kolcraft contours and as much as I liked the different positions the seats could go in, it is much smaller and was really heavy and hard to lug around.

YES - I felt this way too. I buy ahead a lot for my son, these days mostly target clearance, and keep a list on my phone of what I have in each size so that I don't overbuy. And still I feel like I'm overbuying. Really he needs like one week's worth of clothes. I do laundry twice a week, that allows for messiness and late laundry.
That said, I'm sure I'll buy more than I need, but I'm hoping it won't be the clothing avalanche that last time around was.

@MKMandeville We have a double BOB and my 43" 4 year old had tons of room. She still fits in my City Mini too. I also know that my 4 year old would be pissed if she had to stand while the little kid sat.
@ugoglencoco I am obsessed with the Snuza! I've used it with both of mine until they started rolling a bunch and knocking it loose at night. It gave me so much peace of mind and I will definitely be using it again with #3. It is definitely one of my most loved baby things. I mentioned to DH that I thought the Owlet monitor was pretty cool, but he's a doctor and was not impressed by the checking the O2 stat - he said that by the time the alarm went off, baby probably hadn't been breathing for a couple minutes. Not sure how true that is - he's in a specialty that doesn't do a whole lot of medicine specialty medicine - but he is more comfortable with us using the Snuza.
Thats good to know @kissthesky32 !! I am definitely leaning more towards the Snuza, it definitely seems a bit more practical. DH thinks its silly altogether but he was snoring away every time i was up watching the kids in the bassinet or through the video monitor. Lol
The Snuza saved my sanity the few couple of months. I totally recommend it. We did have a few false alarms though, so just mentally prepare yourself it to panic if it goes off.
We just gave away everything we had left that still looked decent. We had two cribs, and one went to my best friend who just had an unexpected miracle in December. We only found out the gender with our first because we had most everything we needed from there on out. This time I'll have the gender written down and given to my BFF so she can shop for us lol. I probably just need some diapers and a bouncy chair. We have a couple convertible carseats, so the new baby can use one of those if we don't buy a travel system.
This time I think Im just going to get a booster seat for DD1, so the high chair can be used with this baby. I think we're just going to try to get her in a toddler bed before this one comes so we dont have to buy a second crib.
Honestly, I think I'm just going to need to get new bottles, a new diaper bag, and clothes if its a boy.
We have so much stuff and all of it was pretty gender neutral and its still in great shape.
