@sarac986 It could be a yeast infection. I thought S had a bad rash. Luckily we were already going to her 2 month appointment before it turned into open sores. The doctor had to prescribe us a prescription for it and it cleared up pretty quickly.
Mine got bumpy neck and chest too. Along with a super raw bottom. Suddenly turned to open sores over the weekend despite our constant creaming with maximum strength desitin. Hurts poor baby so bad. We are now on triple cream and a&d along with warm baths and air
When mine had some raw area we stopped using wipes and used wetted paper towels. It always seemed to clear up
@hoosiermama - one of the ladies at our daycare recommended diaper cream for her neck so I've done it (with butt paste) and it does seem to help some. I'm not consistent enough about it to say how effective it is, though.
For those of you experiencing persistent rashes maybe check with your doctor that they are not yeast infections since normal rash cream won't cure yeast. If the rashes are not going away or getting worse I'd have it checked out. Good luck!
I have tried to treat it for yeast with Lotramin and monastat with no help. I'm giving it one more day and if there is no improvement tomorrow to the doctor we go.
We do tummy time maybe three times a day and only until he starts fussing too much. I find if I vacuume he will stay calm longer because he is fascinated by the vacuume. He last anywhere from three to ten mins usually.
About how long are you guys doing tummy time for in a day?
since he's at daycare now I'm not doing it except on the weekend. But whenever he's on his belly he burps a few times then spits up a bunch and eventually faceplants in the spit up so tummy time doesn't happen a lot because it is just a pain.
I try to do tummy time almost every time she is awake between naps. Earlier in the day she can last quite awhile but the later it gets she gets fussy. I try to give her 5-10 mins.
@kvruns S does that too sometimes because she has reflux. I find that if I wait some time after she's eaten to do tummy time she doesn't spit up. Definitely can't do it right after she eats.
I usually do it right after he wakes up from a nap and before he eats otherwise he's sure to spit up everywhere. M does this weird thing where he holds his breath while on his belly so it usually only lasts about 5-10 minutes at a time with breathing breaks - so probably only 3-5 minutes on his belly total. We do this usually 2-3x a day. It doesn't feel like nearly enough but I prefer not to wear vomit.

It varies for us. Sometimes I just forget, or I only remember to do it right after he ate so I have to wait or just accept the barfing. If I wait I often forget again.
Also, how do you tell if it's teething vs a cold? LO has a runny nose, he's drooling like crazy, wants to chomp on everything, he's super fussy, and he's pooping a ton. He also has a little cough, but I can't tell if it's because he's sick or from all the extra saliva.

In my experience, you can't. At least not until teeth break through... which is too late to be helpful.
Speaking of teething. What do they look like when they are just starting? It almost looks like there is a tiny white dot on her upper middle. But it's so small and those teeth are flat so I have no idea.
So this is a question for moms of boys... does anyone else's boy have a penis that looks like it is sunken into his pudge around his pelvis? It wasn't always like this, like when he was circumcised it stuck out like a normal penis, but now it's like it's hiding all the time. To clean it I have to push down the pudge around it so it will stick out ha ha. Is it just because he's so chunky? My husband thinks it's weird.
@rspalding001 it might just be because of pudge. I'd check with your pediatrician though since I'm not a penis expert! Does anyone else's baby boy get what seems to be morning wood? In the morning or after naps that last more than an hour, if I go to change him he's stiff. I call them bonies?? Haha, which is just for my own amusement..
As for tummy time, Nick hates it after a few minutes. Although the be honest, he doesn't do it a ton. He is number 4 so I feel like we are always on the go for school drop off and pick ups.. running errands etc. He rolls over too and has good head control so I don't worry about it much anyway.

That sounds like the beginning of a toooth breaking through. Run your fingers over; they're pretty sharp.
@rspalding001 LO has the same issue but it seems to be from being held or lying on his stomach. Basically whenever there is pressure on his front. It eventually comes back out.
@leighry Baby boys do get erections even at this age and in the womb. Completely normal. But I've never seen one last longer than a few minutes. That's something I'd ask about but if I had to guess is probably normal too.
@MrsMaryK2016 I meant the nap lasts more than an hour. The stiffness goes away quickly haha. I would have definitely called the pediatrician by now if it lasted longer!
Good to know boys are just boys from the get go. Can't wait to have the "put it away, not in public" talk
I'm also trying to determine if S is teething. She's showing some of the signs but of course those signs could mean other things. She was chomping down on her hands like crazy yesterday and has had horrible sleep the past 2 nights. I want to give her Tylenol to see if it helps but then I don't want to give it to her if she's not.

Tylenol doesn't help my LO after the first dose, but if S is fussy and uncomfortable it's worth a shot. It won't hurt her just be forewarned that Tylenol can also keep a baby awake as much as it can help them sleep.
When would you consider it diarrhea? B definitely has watery poops especially if he hasn't gone in a few days. He's going just about every day at daycare now and today they called one diarrhea. SHe said it was the most watery she's seen from him but she's only there 3-6pm every day so who knows on other ones. His watery poops don't surprise me. But maybe they should?
Not to be gross, but maybe if it is less chunky? Like sometimes LO's will be mostly just a color on the diaper, while often it has just a little more substance. Reading back this sounds silly to me, it's hard to discuss in writing.
At his age they're going to be "watery". If they aren't eating solids, they can't poop solids. I wouldn't worry @kvruns.
Agreed! My little man's are always "watery" or... liquid stool but some are lighter in color or have little "chunks" in them especially if he has had formula.

Ok good. I just got my 2nd diarrhea update (same time as yesterday's). I just hope they don't somehow say he's sick of it keeps happening. I don't think his poop is any different than I've seen they're just calling it that now
