Secret Facebook group

Hi ladies!
I am starting a secret Facebook page! as this group gets larger, I always seem to feel lost and find it hard to keep up. I love to have a smaller group of people that I can connect with and create genuine connections with. I am an admin of my 2015 group and it is the most amazing thing I have ever been apart of. I know some like the large groups and that is great, but if you like a smaller group please feel free to post your email and I will be happy to add you!

Keep in mind that stranger danger is a real thing. You have a lot of personal details on FB and you have no idea who these people are with whom you are connecting. In my past BMB we didn't make the jump to Facebook until we were WELL into our third trimester since you're going to get a lot of drive bys and lurkers between now and November. Just a general unsolicited PSA.

I'm not against anyone doing a FB group at any point who wants to.  Some people definitely find that format easier!  I'm also in the camp of personally not joining one until the third trimester.

I do hope to make some long-term friends, but I definitely keep my personal info on lockdown. I want nothing more to still be here in the third trimester having made some great friends along the way though!

We started our September 15 fb group in the first tri...I feel like it was right around the 10 week mark.. We didn't fb friend each other until way way later so if your profile is set to private people shouldn't be able to see much.  It was really nice having others to talk to during these early weeks

We started our Dec 15 group really early also.  I believe at the 6 or 7 week mark for most of us.  Miraculously we made it through the 1st Tri hormones without major incident.  We are still about 265 strong.

To each their own! Best of luck to you! I have had the opposite experience. By my third trimester most of the girls relationships were already established in the fb group. I have had an amazing experience from my earlier group. Yes lots leave, but the ones left are able to bond through the whole process. If your facebook is private, you don't have anymore information than anyone else until I friend you. Thanks for our advice

@AlexandriaNewton  Girl, the admins put the lockdown on the group in November of 2015 once folks started popping out babies.  Nobody is allowed to add members any longer.  I'm sorry

You're exactly right - to each their own! I am sure there will be an additional group started when others are more comfortable with people knowing things that consist of active bump members ETA - for those that aren't ready to jump ship just yet. Of course no hard feelings to those that do! (first and last name are all people really need these days to do some quality catfishing - there are horror stories of that from various BMBs).

FFTC: I don't know why people that don't want to stay on the bump even come here to begin with. There are plenty of private FB groups for moms-to-be on Facebook.

Idk what FFTC means. but I usually jump ship from the bump because of trolls. At least in FB you are able to get rid of them. People come here for all kinds of reasons, perhaps not the same as you, but doesn't make it wrong.

@flowerpower5838 all of the fb groups I've been in are secret so you can't search them on fb. I've always found them through the bump.  And I still use the bump even after I joined a fb group.

I joined my Oct 2012 group on Facebook, but we didn't move to fb until we had our babies. I love that group of women so much! I would be on board to join, but as many others have said, not until much later.

We have a facebook group for 014 and we stopped hanging out on the bump soon after our births.  I think it is a better idea to do that stuff later on when you actually have regs.  Half of the people who are here right now, will not stick around.

I am in a Facebook group with some ladies from S13. We didn't start it until we had our babies though- it is only 20 of us and love how I have gotten to know them!!?i would be up to joining but later on as well.

I want in the FB group. We started our Nov.2013 group really early and didn't add anyone to our personal fb until we were further along. I love those ladies and I'm hoping to meet more lovely ladies that I can share this pregnancy with. Who can I message to be added to the fb group?

Why is it too early? We started the group I was in for DD around 8 weeks and we're still going strong. It was awesome to connect with other ladies during the brutal first tri!! If anyone else starts a secret group let me know!!

Seconding the stranger danger theme -- the person who started this thread now hasn't been online in a week. It's not a great idea to share your personal info so early. Maybe it's innocuous in this case, or maybe you sent your info to a scammer. You just can't know this early on. Protect yourself.
