the last time I gave up booze for Lent I ended up getting pregnant that May with my daughter. I did it hoping to get pregnant and I'd have an excuse for not drinking without family thinking pregnant first. I might have to do it again!
@wabash15 breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite things!
@dragonfly87 a paczki is like a big donut! I normally don't like them (they are really sweet) but the one I got this year wasn't as bad!
@MJDsquared Hope you get some positive results back soon!
@DuchessOfCambridge I started a new job in Dec and I don't qualify for FML until I have been working for a year so I want to make sure that I hit the one year mark before I go on maternity leave. Otherwise I won't be entitled to the 12 weeks and I could in theory risk losing my job. I'm not so much worried about them firing me as I am them wanting me to come back sooner. There is also a 30 day notice requirement so I am just trying to time things with caution. The other part is, I am in a probationary period at work until June so I don't want anyone to know I am KU until after that passes just in case people do suck that much. However, this is all assuming that I'm a special snowflake and get KTFU right away anyway... so it really may be a non issue in the end but I didn't want to risk it.
@DuchessOfCambridge It's a doughnut. Fasnacht is the traditional German name. Around here Fat Tuesday is also known as doughnut day because they were made the day before Lent to get rid of lard/butter, sugar and fats prior to fasting for Lent.

Well, the results were negative. I was so sure I had ovulated since I never had EWCM before plus I had the positive OPK. Going to be pity partying for the rest of the day (or the rest of this cycle...).

@Sailing_Mama thankfully I already know how much this is
going to cost. I did manage to talk them down $250, so I’m happy I pushed back
on the price a little bit!
@lulu1180@shortstake930 Even now when I see a fish stick in
the store, my stomach does not like it. Way toooooooo many fish sticks and tuna
casserole during lent growing up. I’m not a practicing Catholic anymore, so I
don’t have to stick to those rules (sorry Mom!).
@JJMNO1616 congrats! enjoy the house hunt! I know some employers exclude maternity leave from the 1 year requirement, we had someone in our department that was hired in December and went on leave in June. I don't know if it varies company to company.
@mispanda great idea about the booze for Lent. we typically take a trip with my ILs for spring break/Easter and I know they will be suspicious if I don't drink.

@FLAshley - I am bad with needles as well. I normally tell

mind while doing it.
@Anna_1021 - GL with the RE and I’m glad taking that step
is making you feel much more calm and happy.
@KariAnn323 - Yay for no customer emails this week!
@Cricket648 - The more I feel like I have to do the less

season of The Office. I try to take advantage of the days that I feel really
productive and then it makes it a little bit okay when I have a day when just
can’t seem to get my mind in it. GL!
@JJMNO1616 I can't really complain too much because I haven't been to see an RE yet. I'm still just using my OB. I was on letrozole this cycle (second cycle on it) and I'll take it one more time at an increased dosage and then I'm going to an RE. I was freaking out before this cycle about how we're wasting time and need to see an RE, but even after this next cycle I don't think we'll be able to afford all that testing (it will be 100% OOP for me)...so who knows, we may be benched. So I figure we'll just finish this out and see what happens...
@BertieMeetsGertie Those fish sticks are the reason I generally don't like fish! Although I do still love tuna casserole!
@justkeepswimming8 If the issue is due to bad workmanship/wear and tear (even though the house is only 4 years old) or if it is something that was caused over time, homeowners insurance does not cover it. You can always call your agent to double check; however, if you submit a claim and they don't pay anything, some companies do consider that a claim and you can end up with higher premiums because of it so I would think hard about it before deciding if you want to do that. FYI I have my insurance license in my state (Ohio) and I've been working in insurance for nearly 12 years so this is all from my personal experience. Good luck! Also, welcome

@Avrilmai My employer actually does have a Maternity policy outside of FML so I would technically qualify for that but there isn't as much protection. It's kind of up to my department's discretion to approve it and for how long. Without going into too much detail I have some concerns about that.
ETA- Now you have me wondering if I'm just being over caucus and should just GDTPT already. I may be having a convo with DH about it later.
@MJDsquared You can complain all you want! I know I would be complaining. I'm mad at my body right now and I've only been off BC 2 months. It's hard not to worry about this stuff. Sorry to hear about the OOP expense FX this is your month!
@MJDsquared sorry about the an-O cycle. I think getting to the RE sooner rather than later is a good idea. I just started all my testing too and everything is OOP for me as well but it wasn't as bad as I expected. For the testing my RE tried to use diagnoses not related to infertility to see if my insurance would cover anything and gave me a 20% discount on everything that I pay out of pocket for. The most expensive thing will be th HSG which is about $600 and of course if we need any sort of medication or procedures after that it will be much more expensive and completely OOP but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
@mispanda I knew it was a holiday I would like. Fat Tuesday coupled with CD1 sounds like a very bad combination for me though. I'm glad I didn't know about it before today because I'd probably be in a sugar coma by now.
ETA I just found out I won't get the SA results until we meet with the RE again and I have to get all our testing done before that. Really don't want to go through another fertile week not knowing if we are just wasting our time. Called DH and pretty much demanded that he get his blood work done so we can meet with the RE next week after my HSG.
@lulu1180 I'm about to order some tea and get some pom juice on my way home tonight. Must do all the things. @JJMNO1616 That makes total sense, and is really smart of you. I totally get not wanting coworkers to know before you're ready for them to know. I started my job 7 months ago and plan to hide my pregnancy for as long as I can once I get KU (which is hopefully soon). I'm sure it won't look amazing that I'm KU soon after I start and will be taking ML buttt I'm not going to plan my family around what work might think. Though I definitely would plan it around ML benefits like you are! I hope you are a total special snowflake and get KU right away! @SoldiersMom Ooo I see, I kind of wish I had one of those right now! Also downloaded that water app! I've had 24 oz so far and about to go refill my water bottle. @MJDsquared Sorry for the negative OPK @BertieMeetsGertie I'm so excited about it!! Absolutely cannot wait til this summer. @justkeepswimming8 Welcome! I'm in the same boat as you, love talking about TTC here because no one knows we are We don't want to put pressure on ourselves by telling people and having them ask about it and we also think some people may have opinions and we'd prefer not to hear them, ha. We have enough baby money saved for the first year and are both ready so we're going for it and TB is the best resource ever. Agreed on hating about lying to people - I wish they'd stop asking though! @safire3 ugh so annoying you have to wait. FX you can meet with your RE next week and get good results! Or at the very least, some answers.
@DuchessOfCambridge Just a warning if you've never tried pom juice, it's pretty tart and, to be honest, I don't care for the taste. I just chug down a glass a day as quick as I can to get it done.

@lulu1180 hmm maybe due to your above post to dragonfly87 I should hold off on pom juice until next month when I'm charting. Does red raspberry leaf tea have the same issue?
@DuchessOfCambridge I just started drinking RRL and I did read that some women drink it towards the end of their pregnancy to try to induce contractions but it seems like it may be a bit of a wise tail (although if anyone has any articles on this please send my way). My plan is to drink the RRL until O.
@DuchessOfCambridge Red Raspberry Leaf tea is said to cause uterine contractions as well, which is why some midwives recommend it in the third trimester to help with labor. It is supposed to help smooth and tone the uterus, and many mostly drink it before O. There isn't definitive evidence on whether to drink for all of pregnancy, but some women do without issues.
@lulu1180 Hmm, interesting. I just drink it daily now, but not sure...that is about the extract and seed...so who knows. I have noticed that the cycle I drank it daily, I had a normal AF compared to my 1.5 day spotty AF. But could have been a coincidence.
@lulu1180 oops sorry for assuming, but thanks for the great info on pom juice @JJMNO1616@dragonfly87 thanks! I think I'll start both up next cycle if necessary until O

GTKY: Any plans for Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday Nothing really. Maybe buy one of those cakes with a baby in it? IDK what their significance is, but it's cake so I'm down.
@Caprine89 the king cake baby has a lot of different meanings depending on who you ask/ what you read. The most common one is that whoever gets the baby buys the next king cake. The one I like the most was that the person who finds it will have good fortune/luck for the year to come. Also, welcome back CS/Q is for chart stalk/questions
@dragonfly87 evening primrose oil helps with desert like conditions down there. Research it a bit. They're pills that I'd imagine can be purchased at any drug store. You can take them up until ovulation. I used it a few months and noticed a difference the following day (took mine at night). I didn't have an issue, so it may be different if you're unusually desert like for few days, but I tried them as a 'what'll it hurt' addition for a bit and they seem legit!
@mispanda what's a paczki? (Ok I just read it's a doughnut. Is it a normal tasting doughnut?)
@FLAshley I was that way about needles until my drama started. I've gotten very familiar with them in the last month though. (Although I'm the opposite of everyone & I have to see the needle and watch it being done or I freak out. Of for all the shots Ive been given in my butt lately, I've told them I have to know exactly when they're going to do it) Hopefully it won't be too terrible for you!

@safire3 so sorry about cd1! And I need to find out my H's SA results too!
@SoldiersMom what's a fashnacht? (Ok I just read it's a doughnut. Is it a normal tasting doughnut?)
@DuchessOfCambridge Pom is supposed to help with uterine lining I think. Last month was the first time I took it and I got KU (*TW although it is as ectopic**end TW but I will definitely be drinking it again once I'm not benched (it's expensive)

@lulu1180 – I’m Catholic too and the most I can fast is
not eating meat… my DH goes all out but I get hangry! Thanks for the info on home
insurance and it sounds like we shouldn’t make a claim. It is due to poor
placement of the downspouts from the gutters and a less than ideal sump pump.
The guy said you might as well not have gutters the way that they are draining.
FIL is an engineer and said he’d take a look before we committed to anything.
@tennis11785 – we should start a horrible Catholics club
with @lulu1180! LOL I usually give up chocolate but I can’t not have chocolate
if I’m KU! So…. Soda it is since I should give it up anyway.
@beachbunnyxo123 – Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday is just an
excuse to binge eat everything that you plan on giving up for lent… like those
Girl Scout cookies that were delivered TODAY – so mean of those Girl Scouts to
deliver them right before lent!
@DuchessOfCambridge – a Euro road trip sounds like so much
fun! Yeah I wish they’d stop asking as well. My IL know not to mention babies
around my DH since he’s already scolded them for asking so much but when I’m
alone with them they know I’ll be more accommodating even though it’s all lies.
FX for not having to lie for very much longer. P.S. Princess Kate is my
favorite! J
@Anna_1021 – I am thinking I should start next cycle to
temp. I’ve realized over the last 2 weeks that I’m too impatient and too google
happy to just go with the flow on TTC so might as well go all in. During my pap
smear today my gyno mentioned that she would expect me to ovulate in the next
few days based on CM so clearly I know nothing about that! LOL
@Caprine89 – Yay for AF but only for this month! LOL
@purplg8r I hope you enjoy every sip of those cokes and don't feel guilty about it! I gave up coke as well...and went back to after my loss. Now, I just have it during AF because it's my "ah f*** it, why not" go to de-stressor.
I hope your hcg starts going down and you are back on the road to recovery soon!

@50wife thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it. Normally, I am not this dry at CD8 and CD9. Still dry today and getting annoyed. Will check out the evening primrose.
Re: WTO Tues 2/28/17
@BertieMeetsGertie hope everything goes smooth with your new AC and furnace!
@lulu1180 I was hoping for the same thing too. I hate fasting.
@safire3 in the simplest terms Fat Tuesday is a day to indulge in a bunch of goodies in preparation of the Ash Wednesday/Lent season.

ETA- Now you have me wondering if I'm just being over caucus and should just GDTPT already.
@MJDsquared You can complain all you want! I know I would be complaining. I'm mad at my body right now and I've only been off BC 2 months. It's hard not to worry about this stuff. Sorry to hear about the OOP expense
Married: 10/2013
TTC #1 Since: 02/2017
@mispanda I knew it was a holiday I would like.
@MJDsquared Sorry for the negative OPK
@BertieMeetsGertie I'm so excited about it!! Absolutely cannot wait til this summer.
@justkeepswimming8 Welcome! I'm in the same boat as you, love talking about TTC here because no one knows we are
@safire3 ugh so annoying you have to wait. FX you can meet with your RE next week and get good results! Or at the very least, some answers.

@lulu1180 Hmm, interesting. I just drink it daily now, but not sure...that is about the extract and seed...so who knows. I have noticed that the cycle I drank it daily, I had a normal AF compared to my 1.5 day spotty AF. But could have been a coincidence.
@JJMNO1616 @dragonfly87 thanks! I think I'll start both up next cycle if necessary until O
@JJMNO1616 Wohoo to the house hunting!!! We are buying a house too and closing on March 31st!

@mispanda what's a paczki? (Ok I just read it's a doughnut. Is it a normal tasting doughnut?)
@LoveInDC I hate jelly beans but I despise black ones!! Lol
@Dilynne I hope your appointment goes well!!
@safire3 so sorry about cd1! And I need to find out my H's SA results too!
@SoldiersMom what's a fashnacht? (Ok I just read it's a doughnut. Is it a normal tasting doughnut?)
@DuchessOfCambridge Pom is supposed to help with uterine lining I think. Last month was the first time I took it and I got KU (*TW although it is as ectopic**end TW but I will definitely be drinking it again once I'm not benched (it's expensive)

R/R: *TW. I gave up soda back in Sept for TTC. but I said screw it this weekend and since u have to deal with this I bought a Coke. And I've had 2 more since. People say you get over the craving. Not me. It was delicious!! Also, my hcg only went up 4 points yesterday (they expect it to rise for yesterday's bloodwork) so hopefully it'll drop like it's supposed to on Thursday!!* end TW

@lulu1180 – I’m Catholic too and the most I can fast is not eating meat… my DH goes all out but I get hangry! Thanks for the info on home insurance and it sounds like we shouldn’t make a claim. It is due to poor placement of the downspouts from the gutters and a less than ideal sump pump. The guy said you might as well not have gutters the way that they are draining. FIL is an engineer and said he’d take a look before we committed to anything.
@Dilynee – GL tomorrow!
@haylsbayls – Breakfast for dinner is my favorite! Yummy! Chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes for me please.
@Avrilmai – Mardi Gras isn’t something I celebrate either – was gonna have that shamrock shake either way! Hope work was good!
@safire3 – sorry for CD1 – wallow away!
@tennis11785 – we should start a horrible Catholics club with @lulu1180! LOL I usually give up chocolate but I can’t not have chocolate if I’m KU! So…. Soda it is since I should give it up anyway.
@beachbunnyxo123 – Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday is just an excuse to binge eat everything that you plan on giving up for lent… like those Girl Scout cookies that were delivered TODAY – so mean of those Girl Scouts to deliver them right before lent!
@wabash15 – as I said to @haylsbayls above, pancakes for dinner rock!
@dragonfly87 – FX for that CM!
@sailing_mama – FX for O!
@JJMNO1616 – sorry for CD1. FX that your cycles will regulate soon!
@SolidersMom – didn’t the groundhog say 6 more weeks of winter? Sure doesn’t feel like it.
@MJDsquared – FX for O!
@DuchessOfCambridge – a Euro road trip sounds like so much fun! Yeah I wish they’d stop asking as well. My IL know not to mention babies around my DH since he’s already scolded them for asking so much but when I’m alone with them they know I’ll be more accommodating even though it’s all lies. FX for not having to lie for very much longer. P.S. Princess Kate is my favorite! J
@darkrose88 – sorry for the spotting.
@Anna_1021 – I am thinking I should start next cycle to temp. I’ve realized over the last 2 weeks that I’m too impatient and too google happy to just go with the flow on TTC so might as well go all in. During my pap smear today my gyno mentioned that she would expect me to ovulate in the next few days based on CM so clearly I know nothing about that! LOL
@Caprine89 – Yay for AF but only for this month! LOL
@morado23 – sorry about your bad vacay.

@dragonfly87 Sorry about the desert! My cm has been out of wack too. Temp shift makes it look like I O'd Sunday, but then today I got EGCM. WTF body?!?!?
@JJMNO1616 Yay for successfully adulting and getting approved for a mortgage!
@Soldiersmom FX you get CH tomorrow
@MJDsquared Hugs, I'm so sorry you didn't ovulate
