  • Good morning early bumpie ladies.

    @FLAshley is there anything they'll give you to take before hand to help ease the anxiety?
    @mispanda FX for a postive OPK

    WAYDTGKU: the usual, remembered to take my pnv yesterday

    R/R: I tried the beef tinaktak from the The Domestic Man - absolutely delicious! Can't remember who recommended the site - but thanks!

    GTKY: Any plans for Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday?

    None
  • @cdnrunning @Anna_1021 DF is going to come with me. Lol, I wish that were enough, I get SO irrational. Like, screaming "Your killing me. Why are you doing this to me." I have no clue where my fear got so strong. The last time I had bloodwork done they had to threaten me with bringing the doctor up to do it - apparently they aren't nice about it. I know it doesn't really hurt - I have excellent veins to draw from. @Anna_1021 I am just getting routine work done and she threw on a couple of horomones. I haven't had bloodwork done in nearly 11 years. I'm glad to hear your going to an RE and you feel good about it.

  • Lurking from tww because it's crickets over there...
    @FLAshley when you get your bloodwork done try talking to the phlebotomist about random stuff, ask her questions etc. It helps. Good luck!!

  • @FLAshley Sorry about your bloodwork! I wish I had some good advice for you. I'm okay with needles, but I have been known to work myself into a panicked ball of stress and anxiety over things, so I can relate there.
    @Anna_1021 Good luck at the RE!
    @mispanda fx for your opk!

  • @Anna_1021 Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday is the end of carnival season. Carnival season begins Jan 6 and is a celebration/time of indulging before Lent/fasting begins. It is mainly celebrated in the South. It's basically a giant party.

  • @FLAshley I passed out when I got my initial RE blood work done so I hear you girl. I pop music into my ears and tell the nurse beforehand NOT to tell me anything that she's doing. I also lay down for a while afterward and have something sweet, like juice, to help balance sugar levels.
  • @Dilynne yay!! GL with your appointment!

    @safire3 GL with your HSG later this week!

  • Oops I meant HSG next week. It has to be after AF but before O so I scheduled for next Tuesday. Thank you @BertieMeetsGertie!

    @lulu1180 I'm seriously laughing at you over here wanting to be KU so you don't have to fast for lent! There is still a chance for you to miss most of it though so FX for you!

    Good luck with the appt tomorrow @Dilynne!

    @Avrilmai thanks for the info. Interesting that it is very similar to the Caribbean where there is traditionally a Carnival (big street party type not games and rides type) on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.

    @FLAshley Gosh, that is some deep fear.. :( Hugs for Friday <3:)

    @TigerCakes Everyone TTC journey is unique and has it's ups and downs regardless of the length. So sorry that you had a rough month .. it is the worst when you have your hopes up and then nothing. Hugs.

    @LoveInDC I love your gifs :) Hope the work craziness cools down soon and you'll have a little break to catch your breath.

    @Avrilmai Thanks for the info :)

  • @Tennis11785 Yes, thankfully it's pretty mild! Although the past couple of mornings it has been 55 degree in our house... Burrrrrrrrr!

    @LoveInDC YYYYYAAAAAASSSSSS to ALLLLLLL the black jelly beans!! I  <3 them! One word of caution, however. If you eat too much black licorice, it can cause heart arrhythmias in some people (you really have to eat a lot for this to happen, but wanted to make sure you were aware!).

  • @FLAshley hey CD buddy!! Definitely try to put some headphones in while getting your blood drawn, or anything that will distract you from what they're doing!

    @wabash15 yay for pancakes!!!

    @lulu1180 wow I am such a lapsed catholic that I didn't even realize there was fasting involved in Lent!

  • @shortstack930 Technically, you only have to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.  Otherwise it's just abstaining from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays.  But if you are under 12, over 60 or KU you don't have to follow this according to the church

  • @FLAshley I used to be horrible with blood work/needles. My mom and one brother are champs and donate blood, etc. My other brother and I are horrible (but my brother is worse and has passed out twice). Since I've had to get blood drawn four times since July on this TTC journey I'm totally okay with it now. Yesterday I had blood drawn and I barely felt it. I'll admit when I was 17 I had seven vials of blood drawn (because I had yet to start my period--anyone surprised I have PCOS?) and I was freaking out so the nurse made the doctor do it. I ended up starting my period within a week. I was pissed.
    @safire3 Sorry for CD1. <3
    @JJMNO1616 Yay for house hunting!!!

    Month/Cycle: 12 / 8 (I think?)

    CD: 20

    WAYDTGKU: all the things, but FW should be over so just PNVs & BBT right now

    R/R: Waiting on the results of my progesterone level test yesterday! FX so hard that I actually did ovulate. DH & I were talking about how it would be more crushing to find out I didn't ovulate at all than to find out I ovulated but didn't get KU. Also, I told myself I wouldn't go crazy SS this cycle and I wouldn't Google (this is only the second cycle that I've ovulated...if I even ovulated)...but of course I'm going crazy SS and DH Googled and told me. So that's out the window.

    CS/Q: I hate my chart. This is my first cycle temping though. No CH, so I'll just move to TWW if my test results are positive.

    GTKY: Any plans for Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday? Never done anything for it.
