@Jens_Hoes I love gymnastics. That sounds like such a fun outing. I took DH to a college gymnastics competition and he loved it too. Have a great time!
@starphish18 the nursery looks great! Can you come hang wall stuff for me too?
i am on call this weekend and went in to do a few cases this morning and then came home to my DH putting together our living room organizing shelf to help us keep baby supplies and toys organized in the future! It's a huge mess at the moment but I'm just watching so far. Usually he needs or wants more help but he's letting me "rest". Being pregnant has its perks
Hey weekend ladies!! Popping in to say hello because I am currently holed up in a hotel room watching Netflix while DS naps in the other room. We took a trip this weekend to Portland, Maine for DH's birthday. His best friend lives here so I'm on nap and bedtime duties and he's hitting up some bars and breweries with his friend. It's been a good trip so far, but not gonna lie...having to occupy my toddler through every meal in a restaurant is already getting a little old. But suite hotel traveling with a toddler is the way to go...
Can't wait to see all these finished nurseries!! I'm inspired to do some shopping for some of the finishing touches I've been putting off...off to Etsy!
A lot of ideas for @starphish18! I have done contact paper for a shelf before and it was nice and lasted a long time. Fabric is great too if nothing snags.
Not too much going on here, just got some people picking up some of DD's old clothes that I had posted for sale. A lot of her spring/summer stuff are selling quick at least. The warmer clothes will probably have to wait until this fall when it cools down again. DH was also in a painting mood so he just finished painting the baby's closet since it was dirty and had a couple of holes from the previous owner. Now it's nice and fresh again and I can start organizing/hanging things up tomorrow!
I'm jealous of everyone's ambition! I have a bunch I want to do, but want H to help. That will end one of two ways...he'll complain and be grumpy the whole time, or he'll ignore it until I get so upset I do it myself. I really need this kind of ambition on a day when he's not home. So instead, I dognapped one of my dogs friends for the weekend so they can play all day long. So far successful, I barely slept last night because they didn't stop playing....
@starphish18 Target has some good contact paper that used to line some kitchen shelves. I love the look of your nursery and the great big windows that you have!
@Jens_Hoes welcome to LA! I'm glad the weather is cooperating for a few days. If you have time, try to hit up Olvera Street for some good Mexican food.
My MIL birthday is tomorrow, so we're doing dinner tonight and brunch tomorrow with the family. Other than that a lazy weekend of laundry and getting DD out in the sunshine before we get rain again. I need to go to Hobby Lobby to get some more decorations for the kiddos' room.
@Jens_Hoes Hope your not getting step and it's just allergies. Maybe a change in climate from your cold weather to the warmer/blooming California weather? Also, I'm super jealous of the gymnastics meet! DD1 is starting to get more involved in gymnastics and she loves to watch meets on TV.
@starphish18 I've painted quite a few pieces of laminate furniture with chalk paint! No sanding required is the best part.
We ventured to Ikea today unaware that it was opening weekend for the new store in our area (they built a larger store in the same parking lot and are going to demolish the old store). So it was a madhouse, but we really needed an additional dresser or furniture piece to house all of DHs Army clothes so I can have the nursery closet back. Otherwise we are packing/getting things ready for DHs trip and having some family time!

@starphish18 - I painted a raw wood bookshelf white, and it was a much bigger pain than I anticipated, even without sanding and priming. With what you spend on supplies, plus your time investment, I bet it's cheaper to just buy a new white one. Loving your nursery, btw!
@starphish18 I just repainted our two nightstands and large floor mirror with chalk paint. It is super easy and fast. If you can find a kind that doesn't need waxing that is even better.
For anyone that is into gymnastics, the meet was pretty awesome. We didn't realize both Madison Kocian and Kyla Ross, whom both competed in the last Olympics, are on UCLA. So we got to see them, which was cool.

I feel so full. I haven't even eaten a real meal today. Like I have a snack and then it's like I am the fullest I've ever been. Blah
Even with food or without, I just feel so full A LOT lately also.
Earlier today I told my hubbs, "I feel so full!" and he raised his eyebrows. So I patted my belly and said "I think he's running out of room in there!" He smiled, "You've said that before." "Yeah probably yesterday." "No, before, last time." "I don't think so, not like this!" He smiled like I was joking but I was dead serious. "I'm not kidding! I really think he's taking over!" and he said "You're just realizing this now?" ...
So far weekend is going good, DH got DD and I lunch before going to work and after lunch I helped my SIL watch her BF's niece and nephew so we took all of the kids to a little park nearby and DD had a blast. DH is off tomorrow so maybe we'll go by IL's house and play card games with everyone. If we luck out I'm hoping our tax return will be there too since according to the IRS website it was officially sent out yesterday. I've been impatiently awaiting it so I can do some shopping for this baby and get some things done DH and I have been putting off for too long.
Had to call in to work because the Phoenix Marathon apparently shuts down my entire town. All the main roads were closed for hours. I could have gotten there....if I drove completely out of my way and left about 2 hours early. Wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, I did nothing productive with my day. I was a lazy bum. I work tomorrow....so nothing exciting this weekend for me.
We went to look at dining tables today and, fingers crossed, i think we found one we both like. It's mid-century looking and has two extension inserts (leaves?), and with both of them in it extends to 116 inches! And we're thinking of getting 10-11 chairs, so 8 would be permanently assigned to the table (we'd probably keep it half extended at all times) and 2-3 would be by the kitchen island, available if we had people over and had to have the table fully extended. Went by the house today too, our builder/seller thinks he can get the certificate of occupancy by end of next week. I sure hope so. We were supposed to be closing on Feb 16th and we've extended it to early March. I will be very pissed off if it gets pushed out again (moderately pissed off as it is and my husband doesn't let me unleash the beast yet lol).
Dogsitting for a friend this weekend in downtown Seattle, right by the Seattle Center. It's nice, we've done it before, although i don't like being out when it's dark in this neighborhood.
I'm glad you ladies were productive nesting, grocery shopping, and taking care of errands. We celebrated DH's birthday. We spent the whole day enjoying the beautiful weather and partying at Mardi Gras.
And the highlight of my day was guiltlessly enjoying king cake, knowing that I passed my glucose test this week. It's a Mardi Gras miracle.
Does anyone know if mucinex is safe to take for chest congestion during pregnancy? I normally wouldn't ask the Internet this type of question, but it's Sunday morning and everything that my doctor's office has given me about OTC medicine focuses on how to treat a cough, but not chest congestion (plain robitussin after 12 weeks is safe for a cough. Nothing mentioned for chest congestion) Not sure I want to call the emergency line to ask about this, so I thought I'd start with you smart ladies. Thanks!
@Icarriedawatermelon Plain Robitussin (guaifenesin) is on the safe list that my provider gives mamas. It'll certainly help loosen up what you have in your chest so it's easier to cough it out. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks! And I'm hoping those babies of yours stay put for 2 more weeks!
MH was in a car accident this morning. He is awake and conscious, that is all of the details that I have. My in-laws are on their way to pick me up and take me to the hospital.
I don't anyone IRL to know, so I hope that it's ok to post here. Any prayers would be appreciated if that's your thing.

Prayers for your hubby. Hope everything is ok. I'm glad he is awake and conscious! Big hugs.
@BabyMC517 my husband and I did the same thing before we closed. Literally, we did not know 100% that our loan for the house was officially approved until the day we got the keys because there were some major delays with the appraisal and inspections and some other crazy things that would take up too much time to explain. The loan officer kept telling us everything on our end looked good, but he was waiting on several things before we got the green light and they literally finished up the paperwork the day we close. To get back to your point, we started paking a month before even though we were uncertain because we just said one way or the other, we are moving out of this damn apartment. Anyways, i hope you hear something soon. Try not to stress.
As far as what I'm doing or have already done...today we are buying the nursey furniture and I just remembered that the mattress is separate. Shit! Lol
Yesterday, I bought a diaper bag, coming home outfit, and a few onesies
I wonder if we should start a "weekly shopping haul thread" like when couponers show their weekly haul or would that be bragging or not considerate of others???? I'm always buying something every week for the baby now and it would be fun to see what everyone else is buying during the week.

I got this hanging shelf for DD awhile ago (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014ABVDBE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1) and it's been great for extra diapers, wipes and other things. I'm debating whether to order one for LO or not. For anybody who end up interested in this, the pink one is not truly pink. It's more peachy/pink.
