Sometimes I'm disappointed that I got pregnant at this moment. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic to be pregnant. We'd been trying for about 8 months. But I really didn't want to be pregnant during a hot Florida summer, and we already have too many birthdays in September: DH, my sister, and my nephew.
@mrsmgsee I was actually hoping to have another winter baby because I was wearing t shirts in January days before I had DS. I'm going to be so miserable this summer...
@mrsmgsee I had hoped to have a baby due in early summer. DH is a teacher, so this timing is pretty terrible. Shortly after the new school year starts. Also, my mom was supposed to be in Hawaii with my brother's kids for most of September and part of October. Everyone's plans changed.
My birthday is September 9th. EDD looks like it will be around then. I feel like when I have a kid, my birthday will be the only day that is "about me" to some extent. I don't want to share that time period. I see a lifetime of being the after thought at combined birthday parties.
I also don't handle heat well. And being super pregnant all summer is going to suck.
@jena333 my niece was born on my BIL's birthday and he loves it. He's never an after thought. They have combines parties sometimes but he gets his time and she gets hers and then they get theirs. He really does love it though, so maybe if it actually happens it will be different than you think.
My last baby was also born in September and the only miserable moment I had was for outdoor maternity pics. But besides that anytime I was outside I was always near a body of water to swim in (pool, ocean, lake) and then inside the rest of the time, it really wasn't bad. Coming from a TN resident where the humidity is literally visible in the air and the heat is scorching and also wet I can say it wasn't terrible.
Sometimes when I check my Fitbit at night and I realize I'm really close to my daily goal, I'll just shake my arm in bed instead of getting up to walk the last steps.
Don't get me wrong, I am really excited about this baby. But I kind of feel y'all about wishing the timing was different. My kids will be about 18 months apart, which is fine. But I am already kind of sad about losing DD as my only child and having to make space in my life for a new one. We weren't actively trying, but we were consciously not using birth control and managed to get pregnant the only time we had unprotected sex.
It is so stupid, but DD had all these ridiculously adorable little rompers she wore all summer and if we have another girl, she won't be able to wear them and that makes me sad.
Since I'm talking about how old I feel on our UO thread, I might as well confess something that I think ages me a lot. I don't understand the point of GIFs. I think some of them are funny, but I don't see how they've become so essential to communication on the internet.
I fully expect that a bunch of you will GIF away in response.
I'm dreading Maryland summer humidity. I barely survived Baltimore when I was 5-7m pregnant during the summer, being full term is going to be awesome. I literally would go home most nights and strip to a tank top and underwear, and then have ALL the Ice Pops. All of them. It was totally worth it.
I shared a bday with my uncle, and although we didn't live near each other, I always loved it. It didn't hurt that he was my favorite uncle, and I miss him terribly now.
FFFC: DH is apparently planning a trip to a car get together tomorrow morning, that's like an hour away. I honestly wouldn't mind, but he hasn't said a thing to me, and I only found out bc of facebook. Saturday is my 'day' to sleep in while DH gets up early with DS. He has a big surprise coming his way if he just drops this on me at ten pm tonight. To be fair, if he said something ahead of time, I'd be a little grumpy about it (pregnant mama needs her sleep), but I'd be fine with it.
@bridge-and-wall I still haven't figured out how to add gifs...plus, half of them don't show up on my computer or on mobile so when people have a gif party, I'm always lost. Edit: Memes are so my thing though

I'm more of a meme girl myself lol plus I have no idea how to gif. It never works when I try to do it

Sometimes I just google a gif, save it, and then post it like I would a picture from my camera roll
@Sugargirl1019 my doctor wants to do my repeat c-section on Sept 1, so if this baby decides to come any time before 39 weeks I'll have an august baby too... but I'm never leaving this group...
My midwifery center has 9/8 as my EDD, but I'm telling everyone 9/7 since that's what all the apps told me since I got my BFP And that's what I'm keeping my ticker as too
@mrsmgsee I agree this timing wasn't perfect for me either. I would have liked a few months either way. But I'm grateful none the less.
My FFC: I still drink allllllll the caffeine. I make sure I get plenty of water, but I definitely don't watch my intake of the good stuff. I blame it on being pregnancy #3.
This isn't ideal timing for us either. We're moving mid-pregnancy. Even though it's the best thing for our family in both the short and long-term, I'm not excited to leav my fantastic support network here, and exchanging the nice, mild San Diego summer spent mostly at the beach for the hot concrete jungle of Manhattan where I will know exactly 7 people, mostly in other boroughs. At least I'll get to see my parents a lot more often, but dang it, I was really looking forward to spending all summer with my giant bump sticking out of a bikini, and my swollen feet in the ocean!
My FFFC: I hard core lurk other, more dramatic boards. I'm glad our board isn't particularly dramatic, but I'm all about riding the drama llama and watching everyone else's hoopla.
(Sorry, @bridge-and-wall, we're about the same age, but I gif whenever possible. They amuse me. )

Same it's so amusing but at the same time I'm really glad that we don't have that kinda of drama on our board. I'd probably leave if it got as bad as it does on some.
@Msashley2010 basically if she responds on here with which boards she is stalking that is drama filled that BMB will do a drive by (posting on here stirring shit up, just causing problems) but if she just sends a PM we won't have any issues with any other BMBs drive by posting in here
I know it's a day late but this is totally worthy.
DD, 2, has been cranky all day. She was eating string cheese and one of the dogs decided to take a bite of her cheese. She freaked out. Like I thought they bite her type of freak out. Needless to say we threw that string cheese away and I went to get her another. She saw the shredded cheese and wanted that instead. So here's my confession. I gave my 2 YO a bowl of shredded cheese to eat. Flame away.
@MrsVP614 To keep the peace, I will not name any boards, but I will give some advice from one dirty lurker to another: if you go to the BumpAdmin's user page, you can see all the conversations she's recently commented on/shut down.

This is frowned upon? This is a usual snack in my household
@MrsVP614 I wasn't shaming you, I'm a dirty lurker too! It doesn't show every thread with drama, but the Admin's page does show everything that's been shut down because it violated TOU, which is fun.

I will say, though... September birthday kids are usually my favorites as a teacher. They have almost a year of maturity on some of their classmates.
My FFC: I still drink allllllll the caffeine. I make sure I get plenty of water, but I definitely don't watch my intake of the good stuff. I blame it on being pregnancy #3.
I was 10 when they came out. I never got into them. My bestie growing up was obsessed with them and I never understood why.
*Maybe* I'll read the series to my son starting next year when he's in kindergarten.
