Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave: DH finished painting the nursery this weekend and we hung some of the pictures, it is starting to feel real with that now!
Rant: The name discussions that everyone thinks they have an opinion on. DH's dad already refers to baby boy by one name because he likes it, which irritates me so much! They also expressed how much they don't like the name we are probably going to go with as well, stinks for them!
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself?
I am very goal oriented. If I set my mind to completing a project within a certain time frame it usually gets done.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave: going to my favorite pizza place for dinner tonight to celebrate DHs birthday!
Rave #2: one week until our beach vacation! Can not wait!!!!
GTKY: one thing I really like about myself is I'm almost always in a good mood! I'm pretty good at not letting things bother me, but of course I do have my days!

that's really annoying that your FIL just can't accept the name y'all might just choose! Not his baby so his opinion is not needed, glad you won't let him affect your decision.

How far along? 29 weeks!! 7 weeks from induction...eek!
How big is baby? The size of a gallon of milk!
Any appointments this week? Nothing this week. I have to start my weekly non-stress tests next week (along with a general ramp up in appointments), so enjoying this last, appointment free week!
Symptoms? She's moving and shaking pretty much all of the time, which is good but also interrupting my precious sleep. My belly is getting in the way of lots of things...carrying DS, putting on my shoes, giving myself a pedicure, changing laundry from the washer to the dryer.
Cravings? Sweets. Like crazy. But I think it's mostly psychological after passing my 3 hour glucose test last week.
Team Pink/Blue/Green-- Pink!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: Totally not baby related, but we need to get new appliances and I am having the hardest time finding the ones I want in stock anywhere that will deliver. It's driving me CRAZY.
Rave: I've mentioned this before, but it really is just the sweetest--2.5 yo DS is constantly referring to baby sister and it melts my heart every time. This morning he said (in reference to a trip we take to a local farm resort every year over Memorial Day) "I'm gonna grow bigger so that I can take Estelle (baby) to ride on the cows!"...no one is riding on a cow, but it's just so adorable that he's constantly thinking about her. He also said "mommy, look, my belly is big like yours for Estelle" and walked around the house pushing his little belly out. SO. CUTE. I almost can't stand it.
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? I'm generally a pretty practical, non-moody person. You can count on me to stay even-tempered and not play into any petty drama.
@MrsFox2008 - Soooo jealous of your beach vacay! I've been craving sunshine and warm weather. Winter always gets me down. Soak up some sun for us!
How far along? 26 weeks
How big is baby? Kale? For real, Bump? I feel like at this point on baby is the size of various sized melons. So my baby is roughly the size of 2 lb melon.
Any appointments this week? Nada
Symptoms? Getting out of breath so easily now. I took my son to the park on Saturday, and it was so hard to keep up with him.
Cravings? Indiscriminately hungry all the time.
Team Pink/Blue/Green: Girl
Rants/Raves/Questions? My mom was in town last week, and we tackled a lot of projects around the house, including clearing out the Pack n Play, which was crammed with toys, bags of clothes to be donated, and other random stuff. Also, I finally found a rug I like for baby girl's room and ordered a dresser and some curtains. The nursery is taking shape!
GTKY: What is one thing you really like about yourself? I like my optimism. Looking for silver linings has definitely helped me through some tough times.
How far along? 27 weeks
How big is baby? Lantern
Any appointments this week? At my weekly right now waiting. Just drank the nasty drink will have my blood drawn after my appt.
Symptoms? I got rid of my hip pain!! We switched mattresses and it's been amazing! Otherwise just some numb hands in the morning and my ring is getting a little tight.
Cravings? Sweets! Someone mentioned a peanut butter chocolate shake and man do I want one
Team Pink/Blue/Green Pink!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nada
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? I'm a very optimistic person, very out going and can talk to anyone and have a good time.
@mrsfox2008 so jealous of your beach vacation!
@lilylover27 ugh that's so annoying. That's why we aren't telling anyone our name choice because I wouldn't be very nice to those with annoying opinions
@slowmo woo hoo for being productive and getting lots done. One less thing to think about
@Kipperoo I keep thinking about you and how you have such little time left. Time is running. So exciting!
@slowmo and @SWE2 I'll soak up some rays for Y'all
@slowmo also yay to getting the nursery started, so exciting!!

@MrsFox2008 I'm super jealous of your vacation. My brother and his new wife leave for Cabo today and I tried so hard to get them to put me in their suitcase. It's gotten really cold here again.
@Kipperoo that is so cute about your son.
@SWE2 I'm so glad you are feeling better with the new mattress. Fingers crossed for your glucose test!
How far along? 28 weeks!
How big is baby? size of an eggplant
Any appointments this week? Midwife this afternoon - we had to reschedule last week's appointment because she was at a birth.
Symptoms? heartburn is still killing me. And I've developed this really fun new pain under my right rib cage.
Cravings? This week it's mostly just constant hunger.
Team Pink/Blue/Green Blue!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: I've been feeling the stitches in my cerclage pulling the last few days. OB says it's normal as long as there is no bleeding but it is really uncomfortable. Rave: DH and I started our birth classes last week and he has been so keen about reading the material they gave us and watching the videos.
I really didn't expect him to be this keen about it. On our way to our first class he said that he was pretty sure he would be unimportant during labour, and now he's talking about all the things he'll be able to do to support me.
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? It takes a lot to get me down. Even on a bad day it's still easy to smile and keep a positive attitude.
@lilylover27 ugh, I've never understood people who have name opinions, unless you've specifically asked for them! Once there's a baby attached to the name, hopefully people will start to like the name because of the baby!
@MrsFox2008 ah, the beach sounds amazing!! Have so much fun!!
@Kipperoo yikes! 7weeks seems so soon!! My OB has said he will be "shocked" if I make it to term this time, which gives me ten weeks or less. But I can pretend that he's going to be totally wrong, and still kind of expect the extra weeks for now. Your son sounds SO sweet talking about his sister! Older daughter has been the same way- she wants to give Thomas kisses, and walks around with her dolly in her shirt! Yesterday she said "Lulu is in my belly! Well, actually, she's under my shirt."
@slowmo yay for getting things done!!
@SWE2 I'm glad the new mattress is working well for you! We've been thinking about getting one, but haven't made a decision about it yet.
How how far along? 27 weeks
how big is baby? Head of lettuce. (Or deflated basketball? How is that a legit measurement in any way?)
Appointments? Last week. He's looking good!
Symptoms- getting tired a little more easily, and cranky more easily too. I have to watch the grouchy and try not to overreact to family!
Cravings- baby carrots and pretzels. (Not together.)
team- blue!
Rants/raves/questions? Well, I'll share here. I'm officially a member of team petty. Yesterday husband took the girls over to his parents' house, and apparently SIL was there with her little one as well. Younger daughter got too much food in her mouth, coughed, and spit it out. Apparently SIL freaked out at husband about how he should cut up her food, that cutie slices were too big for daughter, etc. (she eats real food. The only thing we cut for her is meat.). So, today for snack I gave the girls oranges (not cuties. Real large oranges. Which she can eat slices of.). And then (here's the me being super petty part!!) I posted a picture on Facebook with a cute caption. Just because I knew SIL would see it and know that I am on husband's side without me saying anything. Yikes, I'm kind of a jerk!
GTKY- what is something you like about yourself?
I'm super creative. I'm making an awesome quilt for this little guy, and I'm way proud of it!!
How far along? 27 week
How big is baby? Bunch of lettuce
Any appointments this week? Nope.
Symptoms? Heartburn and bigger appetite
Cravings? Pizza and wings
Team Pink/Blue/Green - Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? Is anyone getting nervous about labor and delivery? I'm calm right now, but every time I feel any type of pain, I get nervous just for a minute because I keep telling myself the pain will only be 100% worse during labor and delivery.
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? I'm generally a happy person, even when I'm very upset about something. I'm good about leaving my problems at the door and not taking it out on anyone.
@MrsFox2008 A beach vacation sounds magical. Enjoy!
@Kipperoo I greatly dislike shopping for appliances. Hope you find what you are looking for soon. Also the image of a little boy riding a cow is just too sweet.
@CherryBananas That is so sweet of your DH to be so interested. I loved taking the classes last time because of how willing suddenly was to talk about everything!
@Squirtgun Welcome to team petty! I have 100% done basically exactly what you are talking about, but directed at a different family member.
@MrsCPALeslie 100% scared shitless. I waver between pretending that it isn't coming and having grand ideas of becoming the most zen person ever with no real follow through.
How far along? 27 weeks
How big is baby? lettuce...lame
Any appointments this week? Not for a couple weeks. Need to do the glucose test in the next week though.
Symptoms? Feeling fluffy and winded. Also I have the nesting urge, which is awesome because I didn't feel that last time.
Cravings? anything crappy
Team Pink/Blue/Green: Blue
Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I already said this somewhere, but we put together DS' new twin bed and I found a vintage mid-century modern dresser to restore for his new room. I can't wait to work on it!
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? I am organized and not sentimental which is good because I do not like to own things.

So awesome your H is all into yalls birthing class
@Squirtgun thanks
and btw I totally would have done the the same thing if my SIL did that to DH!

@mrsfox2008 favorite pizza and a beach vacation... you're on a roll! Have a fantastic time!
@Kipperoo I love the stories you share about you son. DS likes to give kisses to my belly and will push MH's head towards it to give kisses too! And yikes to 7 weeks!
@slowmo doesn't it feel so great to be productive?! Glad your nursery is coming along!
@SWE2 Glad your new mattress helped with your hip pain. Have you tried wrist braces at night to help prevent the numb hands in the morning? I started experiencing that in third trimester last time and the braces worked wonders. Yes, it was a PITA with all of the bathroom visits but was worth it.
@CherryBananas Sucks your ceclage stitches are uncomfortable but glad there isn't any bleeding along with it. So cool how your H is getting into it all. MH was the same way and ordered all kinds of books online. He would read and highlight and it made my heart melt!
@Squirtgun Love how you stood up for your H. You're not a jerk at all!
@MrsCPALeslie I actually am psyching myself out a bit thinking about the other possibilities that can occur during this delivery. The first time, I didn't know what to expect and just went with it. This time, I have something to compare to and I do get a bit freaked out. I don't let it go too long though and keep myself in check. You are right that the pain will be worse during labor and delivery, but it doesn't last forever.
DS1 7/24/15
DS2 5/7/17
@lilylover27 , I say ignore the name naysayers. I don't know why people feel the need to comment on name selection. It's incredibly annoying and they can have their own kids and name those!
@Squirtgun , I'd love to see your quilt!! I am crafty to a degree, but not to quilter levels. Kinda wish I was, though!
@slowmo, having a mom around to help with nursery prep is AWESOME. My mom came in town over the holidays and we got so much done in such a little amount of time! I can't wait to see how yours is shaping up!
@MrsFox2008 , I am SO, SO jealous of your beach vacay! We are going away this weekend for DH's birthday, but just to Portland, Maine, where it will be anything BUT beach weather.
@mrsrep123 , I'm so glad you at least got one good shot out of your maternity shoot! I'm sure there will be other good ones, too! \
@Louise_Belcher , I, too, hate owning things! Nothing makes me feel better than cleaning out a closet and getting rid of junk. It's like a mini high. I did it last night with my makeup drawer and it made me feel SO HAPPY.
@MrsCPALeslie , are you planning on a epidural? The pain definitely does suck, but can go away relatively quickly with one of those bad boys, so just keep your eye on the prize! lol...
@CherryBananas , yay for husbands getting excited!! I think sometimes the classes are helpful for drilling it home to them that things ARE changing and a baby IS coming.
@kipperoo your son sounds adorable! How sweet he is already thinking of his little sister!
@slowmo yay for the nursery coming together!
@SWE2 hope your appointment went well! Glad the new mattress helped the hip pain!
@cherrybananas sorry you are having discomfort! Hopefully it eases soon! So cute of DH to be so involved.
@squirtgun I would of done the same thing probably! Your DH knows what he is going and doesn't need someone commenting on it.
@MrsCPALeslie I am super nervous about labor and delivery! That is all that is on my mind right now, between everything that can go wrong with both me and the baby and how much it will hurt!
@louise_belcher I like how you used "fluffy" it made me giggle!
@mrsrep123 I have to second the stomach feeling tight! In the morning my stomach feels manageable but by dinner time from eating all day I feel like I am going to explode!
Thanks for all your input on the name issue ladies! Makes me feel better to know I am not crazy! DH and I think we are going to go with the name that they don't seem to like anyway since we both 100% agree on that name. Which is Jackson by the way! Felt I had to share with you ladies since you are so supportive!

Rants/Raves/Questions? So so glad I passed my 3 hr glucose test! The nurse said I passed wi H flying colors and to go enjoy an ice cream:)

How far along? 28 weeks
How big is baby? an eggplant (alternatively, almost three pounds according to growth scan)
Any appointments this week? I had a growth scan and MFM appointment today and have a midwife one on Thursday.
Symptoms? Insomnia.
Cravings? None!
Team Pink/Blue/Green Pink! (after two boys)
Rants/Raves/Questions? Growth scan showed baby girl is breech with both feet and both hands jammed in my ribs on the right side. I suppose that explains the intense pain there...
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself?
I'm really good in a stressful situation. I might fall apart after but I keep it together "in the moment."

@mrsrep123 I hadn't thought of how going vegetarian might effect other things like your wardrobe. That is cool and really makes me think. Your leather jacket story made me remember that on the night DH proposed, when I got ready for bed, I put the dress I had worn directly into the goodwill box. I realized that night I didn't like it. I didn't even think twice about it being special. I do still have the quarter machine ring he proposed with so I guess I don't lack all sentiment.

(Rant alert) Your name situation is beyond outrageous. People having their own opinions?, fine, whatevs, that can be dealt with, or avoided in the first place... but actually naming your child?! Referring to your not-yet-born child by a name he decided? YOUR child, not his!! I'd be livid if anyone did that to me. You should tell him that his "practicing" and "trying out a name" has gone on long enough, and as a daughter-in-law you are deserving of his respect not pushiness. I mean, really. (Rant over)
My MIL is being kind of obnoxious about our name choice. She was pushing new first name options for a REALLY long time before we finally told her it was finalized. She's really hell-bent on there being some kind of nod to her family in this baby's name, but we've told her from the beginning that wasn't happening. DS has his dad's name as his middle name (which is also a family name, but on DH's dad's side). Had this been a boy OR girl, it's middle name was mine to decide. We went with a middle name that is a nod to my side of the family and she is non-stop complaining about it. "Where is my family reference in your children's name? Why not change to first name to Lenore (after her great grandma)? Or make that her middle name?"...Because it's my child and I can name her what I'd like. And it's not my fault that you and DH's dad are divorced--that doesn't mean you automatically both get equal representation in naming. The woman has 7 children--10 grandkids and counting, so it's not like this is her 1 shot at her family name being carried on. Also, Estelle Lenore would be a terrible name...like a really bad mashup: Estellenore. Rant over.
How big is baby? Cauliflower
Any appointments this week? None for a while
Symptoms? Increased trips to tt!
Team Pink/Blue/Green: TEAM GREEN!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: This sounds bratty, but it really drives me crazy. I HATE when people (parents, in-laws, older friends) say things like 'You're doing such a good job with DS' or 'I'm so proud of the parents you're becoming.' I know they mean well, but all I can think is 'I don't need your validation.'
GTKY: what is one thing you really like about yourself? I really like that I LOVE to read. This sounds like an inspirational poster, but it really does open doors to other worlds. I hope I can pass on this affinity to my children as well.
@Kipperoo - I have zero patience for in-laws who overstep their boundaries. Your MIL be crazy!
Also, another side rant, we both only have one brother. It is already starting with the parents on who will get to be Godfather! Like seriously we have so much time for that! Even so whoever we choose the opposite wife will be the Godmother so I mean really! Sometimes family makes having a baby so drama filled!
