Re: PGAL Check In (2/15)
2. Physically, mostly normal. A little weak, more than anything else. Emotionally, it's a roller coaster. Some days, really, really positive! Other days, there is no way in my mind that we will ever have a child. Time has screeched to a freaking halt.
3. Acupuncture today, thankfully. I always leave on a cloud and feel so much better with his support fresh in my mind. Ultrasound Feb. 27th at 7 +1. I also have my first appointment with the Reproductive Life Stages program that day at the women's hospital here in Toronto. They deal with all mental health issues for people who are pgal, postpartum, entering menopause etc. Very lucky to be in it but I'll have to cancel if there's no heartbeat which is making me very anxious.
4. rant: so thirsty! And I already drink SO MUCH water.
rave: I get to start some seedlings (Chinese five colour peppers) today and I ordered my other seeds I want to plant for this year.
q: nah
5. I go birding, read, do photography, have an elaborate garden on my deck, make preserves and bake/cook very complicated things. I'm hoping for something less physical, aside from playing Animal Crossing, to keep my mind occupied for the next... idk like 34 weeks?

1) How far along are you? 7 + 2
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Both depend on the day. Some days I have horrible headaches and morning sickness. Other days, my symptoms are more mild. I feel more positive on days with strong symptoms.
3) When is your next appointment? Next Tuesday.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: Nothing I can think of.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? Reading and arguing with DH.
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? My anxiety is a little better after a good us on Monday. But my last loss occurred after seeing a hb, so I'm still super anxious. Physically, some days are worse than other as far as ms. I'm not as physically exhausted as I was weeks 5 and 6, I think my exhaustion is now mainly mental
3) When is your next appointment? Feb.27th I meet with the OB for the first time
4) Rants/Raves/Questions- rant: this probably sounds stupid, but mentally, I just don't want to/can't seem to function most days. I think it's a combination of having a history of depression and the anxiety that comes with being PGAL. But most days, it's such a massive struggle to work (I work from home, which makes it so much harder, plus add my toddler to the mix). I just want to sit on the couch, eat and binge watch Gilmore girls all day
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I'm a crafter, but since I've been sewing for a living for 4 years, I'm getting tried of it. I'm testing out new crafty stuff for my free time. I also love puzzles- jigsaw, sudoku, crosswords, etc
1) 7 +1.
2) I'm really not bad physically. Food really isn't tasting right and I do have food aversions but I'm not sick all day or anything. Mentally I'm ready to be out of the first trimester. Really I'm ready to pop this kid out because I'm so anxious that something will go wrong the whole time I'm pregnant. It's annoying.
3)my next one isn't until march ughhhh. Anxiously awaiting.
4) I just want to sit on my butt all day. I don't even know that I could fall asleep if I wanted to but i just don't have the energy or drive to do anything. Which means laundry is piling up. I. Hate. Laundry. I could just sit and binge watch the office all day. Except DD's (almost 3 &14 months) will not allow that obviously.
5)so lame I don't have hobbies. Does chasing two toddlers count? I also babysit from home during the week to bring in some extra income so I'm surrounded by littles. I do enjoy hiking but I don't get to do it nearly enough.
@amow06 I also have an appt on Tuesday. Counting down the days.
@sjohns08 I'm struggling to work too. It seems so pointless and I feel very low energy.
@AlexandriaNewton March seems so far away - I'm sorry you have to wait that long!
AFM
1) How far along are you? 5w4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Still no symptoms, which makes me an emotional wreck.
3) When is your next appointment? Tuesday, with a midwife. Debating calling to see if they'll do an ultrasound at that appointment, but I don't want them to know I'm a crazy person.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions I just wish I had some symptoms to prove to me that I'm actually pregnant. No matter how many sticks I pee on, it just doesn't seem real.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I'm a lazy person and I watch a lot of TV, but I do love to cook and I burn through books so fast my DH doesn't understand why we have to buy all of them instead of going to the library. But I just like owning my books for some reason!
2. Physically--barely pregnant. If it weren't for my gigantic boobs I wouldn't believe that I really was. Emotionally--more and more anxious as I approach this upcoming week. I've had 3 previous losses and they've all happened around the 6-6.5 week mark. My 2 pregnancies that made it to 7 weeks made it to the end, so I'm just praying this one will be the same.
3. Still haven't made an appt bc I'm waiting to make sure I stay pregnant. I told my MW we're pregnant again, but we decided to wait to get an appt down. Planning on getting an ultrasound done at the end of next week to check for heartbeat and then assuming all goes well, I'll have a MW appt within a week or 2.
4. I keep hoping that I will have some horrible nausea or something kick in so that I start feeling like this is progressing well. I'm also super irritable but I'm not sure if hormones or anxiety is the cause. Maybe both. Either way, the people in my house are up for a real challenge in dealing with me until further notice lol.
5. Hobbies.... hmm I was into weightlifting before I got pregnant back in August but haven't picked it back up since then. I guess my current main hobby is napping like there's no tomorrow bc this pregnancy got me pretty dang tired.
1) How far along are you? 5w4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically, great. Some nausea here and there, sore breasts and a desire to eat all the things all the time.
3) When is your next appointment? Next week sometime for a repeat U/S
4) Rants/Raves/Questions I had my first ultrasound today!! It went okay, I will not lie and say I was hoping we'd be able to see a little bit more. I know its early, but yeah. We were able to see the gestational sac and the yolk sac and my doc thought she saw the beginnings of the fetal pole. How she saw all that, I have no idea its all grey to me.
**TW**
My last loss I didnt have a first appointment until after 7w, and by that time all we could see was a cloudy gestational sac which we now know is because it was starting to break up. I cant help but think I got this far last time too so I'm not counting it as a win yet.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? Gardening!! I love to garden until it gets hot out, then I'm mentally checked out until the fall. I live in an area where I can already start gardening and it makes me so happy.

2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically I feel exhausted. I'm throwing up 3-4x per day, and having nausea and diarrhea. I'm so tired. It's really wearing me down. Emotionally I was doing really well until my appointment today got rescheduled for tomorrow. I know it's only a day but I really wanted the reassurance today.
3) When is your next appointment? Tomorrow. 24 hours to go.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: See above. That's my rant. I'm annoyed. I'm sad. I'm angry. Today was supposed to be an awesome day so I'm super bitter.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I read a lot. I also love to do sudokus so I do a lot of those.
1) how far along are you?: 5+1
2) how are you feeling physically and emotionally?: physically I have been dead tired since Monday. I don't know if it's pregnancy or not, but I'm still getting the same amount of sleep, but I am just still tired. My boobs are still swollen and a little sore too, so hopefully these are all good things. Emotionally, I'm doing ok, just super nervous for our first appt. long wait until 3/3.
3) next appt?: see above, 3/3!
4) rants/raves: rave-im off work in two hours! Come on! Lol.PGAL brain makes every little twinge and thing going on in your body magnified and scary. Trying to take it easy but still stay active.
5) hobbies?: Nothing really! I like doing a lot of things, but wouldn't call them hobbies since I don't do a lot of a little things, but I do a little of a lot of things. Does that even make sense?
thank you for this check in!
Me.30 DH.31
BFP 2/3/17...edd 10/13/17
1) How far along are you?... Bringing up the rear with 4w+5d.
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally?... Except for fatigue, until yesterday I was feeling pretty awesome. I can still convince myself that it's still too early to be feeling MS or any extreme symptoms so the lack thereof hasn't worried me. Yesterday though in my usual eat all the things binge I think I took lunch too far and was so nauseous I couldn't cook my fiance Valentine's dinner. We'll do a makeup on Thursday (he teaches a class tonight) but it bummed me out pretty bad.
3) When is your next appointment?... March 3 for my 'New OB'.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions... Rant on my job for having the suckiest insurance ever! I found out after seeing an RE for 3 months that my insurance doesn't cover infertility testing. My own fault for racking up a few grand in bills due to misunderstanding their clause (oh, so as long as they don't code it as infertility I'm fine, right?). Unfortunately the RE came up with nothing after several tests other than unexplained infertility and, "I think you should just keep trying on your own". I absolutely adore my GYN who is also my OB, but I can't help but still be mad that the RE is uncovered when I could be getting earlier, more extensive checks into the pregnancy and an ultrasound confirmation sooner, rather than having to wait until 12 weeks.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp?... Lately my mind has been a little burnt out, thinking I could possibly use some sharpening. I used to love doing crosswords (@migdala I have that NYTimes CW app and love it!). For the most part it's been my puppy keeping my mind and time occupied lately. Although @reneeannemm you just reminded me how close it is to seed planting time and I need to get on that. I started a spreadsheet last year on my plantings with notes on my progress, successes, and problems so I need to open that up and make my additions for this year.
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically, generally fine. No real nausea yet, sore boobs, general moodiness (nearly cried in a deposition today because my client cried). Emotionally, just not well. I'm bursting into tears in the morning and just terrified for my ultrasound on Friday. Trying my best to function at work this week.
3) When is your next appointment? 2/17
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm getting some pregnancy brain. I was out of town today for work and on my way home, I went the wrong direction and didn't realize for ~10 miles. I took the next exit which was like getting on the interstate apparently and the next exit wasn't for 25 miles. I turned around in the median and what was an hour trip became 30+ minutes longer. Oy.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I'm lazy too and watch too much tv. I like to read as well but really need to check out The NY Times crossword app!

@Uhlease13 *waves* Glad you're here! Also glad you're doing well emotionally! March 3 will be here before you know it.
@mommac2017 I'd be a total wreck if they moved my appointment, even by just a day, so I get that. Fx everything goes well tomorrow!
@Cythe Glad the first appointment went well and they could see the sac and fetal pole! Fx for next week for another good US!
@marymoore711 Fx as you get through the next week! I am irritable too, but it mostly manifests as tears. Though, if you catch me at the wrong time, watch out!
@migdala I wish so much that I was experiencing all the pregnancy symptoms in the world, and I'm also a wreck. I'm completely sure my OB nurse thinks I'm crazy already. But, I think they also think I'm sooo icy because of how I reacted to the MC last year. Thank goodness they're all nice enough to not say anything.
@AlexandriaNewton Yes, you're still PGAL. It's tough no matter when the loss happened. I'm lacking energy as well. I am so busy at work and still just sit there for periods of time doing nothing.
@sjohns08 I'm useless nowadays, too. I accomplish a small task and feel proud, ha!
@amow06 I like your hobbies. I should've added "discussing" (aka lecturing about) politics with DH.
@reneeannmm I wish I had the slightest bit of green thumb...it would certainly help distract from everyday life. The Reproductive Life Stages program sounds like it would be very helpful and I need to look to see if they offer something similar here. Being able to relay the PGAL craziness to someone other than H would be comforting. Fx time passes quickly to your appointment!

@cooaladolll appt buddies! Come on march 3rd! And sorry about the insurance, it totally sucks!
@mommac2017 I'd be super mad too!! Countdown till tomorrow!
@Cythe early ultrasounds are tough because there truly isn't much to see yet, so I understand! But hopefully next week you feel better and a little more reassured
@marymoore711 I love lifting weight too, but don't want to overdo it. Napping sounds like a great plan!
@migdala isn't it crazy how unreal it can still seem for so long??
@AlexandriaNewton "Mentally I'm read to be out of the first trimester" Can I get a AMEN!?
@sjohns08 I understand. It sucks that even seeing that heartbeat is not reassuring when you know that can be taken away as well.
@amow06 yay for an appt next week!
@reneeannemm emotional roller coaster is the 100% correct term...some days, great! other days...not so much. Hope the good days start to outweigh the bad moments!
Also - totally missed the "to keep your mind sharp" part of the GTKY haha - I LOVE sudoku and crosswords! I like to have an actual book like to write down in, but maybe I will try the NY Times app y'all are talking about
Me.30 DH.31
BFP 2/3/17...edd 10/13/17
2) Emotional roller coaster. US showed no heartbeat, but the US tech said that's normal. I'm not very confident in her though....but have been reading up on it and that can be normal for some women...dang Google...sometimes it helps calm my nerves and other times it creates more questions. Physically I don't feel bad. A little nauseous at times, back is sore, but I have a physical job, I think just being flat out tired is my biggest complaint.
3) I had an US yesterday, but they have to send it to the radiologist to get it officially read. I have a midwife and with my last pregnancy she sent me to an OB she works closely with when we suspected MC. I would've gone back to him for the US, but he was booked this week and I wasn't patient, so I went to a place where they just do US. They did transvaginal, ugh, and said the gestational sac looked good and was implanted correctly, but no heartbeat. DH took a picture of the US, but it's blurry, so I can't tell if there's something in there or not. So now I'm waiting until Friday when the radiologist should have results to my midwife. Then we'll go from there.
4) I think I turned #3 into a rant, haha. Question though: has anyone else been about this far along and not seen a heartbeat? My hcg on 2/6 was 2977.5, on 2/8 was 3379, on 2/10 was 4487....rising, but not doubling. I've read where that can mean MC and I've read where that's just how some women's bodies are...also, my progesterone on 2/6 was 9.8, which is lower that we want, so of course my fear is that I have a blighted ovum and since I can't see the dang picture clearly enough, I can't tell. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Or are experiencing that now?
5) Going to the beach, riding bikes, yoga, I will get back to gardening soon (we moved in August, so my yard has been put on hold), I like to watch YouTube and documentaries....most recently I've been watching Dave Ramsey. Lol, I feel so cool, haha. And, I have to admit, I'm a Grey's fan, so I keep up with that.

1) How far along are you? 6w4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Dealing with morning sickness since Monday, I feel worse as soon as I get up in the morning and late at night. It's overwhelming and exhausting at times, but regardless of how awful I might be feeling, having these symptoms make me feel much better than not having them at all. Also, my DH has been so amazing since getting our BFP - helping with literally everything and not letting me worry about anything, his attitude and actions towards all this makes a huge difference and keep me in good mood!
3) When is your next appointment? March 15th.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: Going on walks with my dog has helped tremendously minimizing the intensity of the nausea during the day, so that's my rave.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? Reading, walking, board games for two (with my hubby) and cooking international dishes together.
@sjohnso8 Be easy on yourself. And enjoy GG, watching it is like taking a warm bath.
@migdala Aha! I think I'll try the app or maybe I'll get a physical crossword since I don't love constantly being attached to my phone. I don't want my doc to know I'm crazy person; I save it allllllll for my acupuncturist.
@Cythe I'm not big on hot weather, but having the garden really helped me adjust my attitude towards summer for the better.
@mommamac2017 Gl at your appointment today! A day feels like an eternity right now.
@cooaladolll I'm not a spreadsheet maker but I bet DH would be good at that. I would love to have that kind of information. I think we're going to take a class on gardening in the city, maybe they'll have organizational tips for me.
@laeberge3 I'm like you bursting into tears - except not tears it's RAGE. I am not a moody or grumpy person, so it's weird af for me
@shara1733 I don't have any practical experience to share, but fx for you

Hey ladies, joining you here. This is my second pregnancy after an early loss at 6+2 last year and infertility. I had been spotting for a few days and found that my hcg was decreasing and miscarried the following day. I've been feeling tentative and laying low but I'm ready to jump in now.
1) How far along are you? 5+5 today
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically I'm tired, emotionally I'm relieved (see rant) and holding onto hope.
3) When is your next appointment? 2 weeks from now at 7+5
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: I woke up from my nap before work on Monday night with red/pink bleeding. It turned brown overnight, and I've still had brown spotting on and off since, but my betas are still increasing really well and I'm feeling like I can let myself trust that baby is ok. MH is traveling for the next two weeks and I'm praying it's an uneventful time at home alone for us.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? Getting lost in knitting/crochet projects and music, crossword puzzles, gardening, working on big projects with MH (right now we are doing some woodworking together), and work is constantly making me learn and listen and think critically (I'm an ED RN).

@mommac2017 YAY! Woohoo! Congrats!
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Fine physically, just tired. Emotionally kind of numb. I don't really feel pregnant a lot of the time. I don't know if it's because it's my fourth so I'm too busy to really think about it or if it's because I'm subconsciously trying to stay a little more distant. I'm hoping it's just because I'm busy...and tired haha!
3) When is your next appointment? March 14th!! I'm so excited because I have my OB appt in the AM and my first ultrasound in the afternoon. I'm praying my ass off every day until then.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: Don't think so
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? Hahahaha! I watch TV and take care of 3 kids, my brain is basically mush. I have started to make more of an effort to read again and that has been nice.

I'm MommyPortz. DH and I have experienced 2 blighted ovums in the last 2 years. This is our 3rd pregnancy. We found out last Friday and had betas done that day and 74.5 hrs later (I'm exact like that)
Edit: No idea where the rest of this went...
Betas came back great and first US is next Friday (2/24). EDD is 10/11 but may be way off since we weren't tracking or really trying. We had been diligently preventing since April except for last month. We had actually started seriously talking about fostering and adoption, so this is kind of a shock for us.
I spend a lot of time on the couch but hit the gym 3 days a week.
@shara1733 A close friend of mine had an US at 6w3d and they didn't see a heartbeat. Her doctor wasn't concerned about it and at her next US they were able to hear it! Now she's entering her 3rd trimester. I have my fingers crossed for you.
AFM, I haven't done an intro on this board yet because I'm scared I won't be around long..but here it goes. I MC on 1/9/17 at 7 weeks and my HCG had gone back to 0. DH and I had been having major problems, started attending marraige counceling, and had decided to TTA till we got things back to a good place. Well I never got AF after the MC and decided to take a pregnancy test, and it came back positive.
1) How far along are you?
Not quite sure..thinking 4w 3 or 4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Physically the only symptom I have is peeing a lot. Emotionally, I'm a mess. I'm terrified I'm going to MC again because I didn't even have AF. But I'm also super excited that I was given this second opportunity and am praying that my baby stays sticky this time.
3) When is your next appointment?
2/22
4) Rants/Raves/Questions
I went in to my OB as soon as I could after my BFP to get betas done. I think i was either 4w0d or 4w1d and my HCG came back 97. They called me and told me that number was low and they think I may be MC again but to come in for a second draw.. Is 97 really that low for that early on? And how in the world can they chalk it up to possible MC without a second number or knowing exactly how far along I am? I should have the results of the second draw by sometime tomorrow..but until then I'm worried and stressed.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I sew and craft a lot and try to garden in the spring.
Pregnancy #2-Due 8/24/17 MMC-01/09/17
DD-Due 10/24/17
I also wasn't sure if I belong here either (@AlexandriaNewton). My first MC was July 2011 at 10 weeks. I don't really know what happened but I know my progesterone was low in the beginning. I began heavy bleeding for almost 2 weeks. Initial check I was fine, heartbeat was fine and then a week later they knew I was misscarrying. It was pretty terrible and I feel for all you ladies. My next was classified as a Chemical Pregnancy at 6 weeks in August 2012. I discovered I wasn't ovulating at some point and so started the Clomid, followed by unexplained infertility and 6 rounds of IUI. Gave up (after spending way too much) moved to NYC and 3 months later pregnant with my now almost 2 year old.
This pregnancy is completely unexpected. We gave up, again, and the next month I'm pregnant. The other pregnancy I was worried the entire time- every wipe, every feeling, every non-feeling, everything came with this untold pressure and fear. This time I am more numb than anything. There is worry but at the same time no pressure because we had decided our one son was enough and we were happy. It's so different I don't know how to feel.
1) How far along are you? 7w4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? I feel great, I was so sick earlier in the week that it feels nice to not be! Emotionally, I'm a wreck. I want to tell everyone I'm pregnant this time but I'm still cautious and nervous.
3) When is your next appointment? Wednesday, 2/22 will be a viability check. Hopefully, we'll see a great heartbeat and I will only have 4 more weeks of worry.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions
5) GTKY: Hobbies? How do you keep your mind sharp? I don't have time for hobbies but I used to love knitting and crocheting, reading and watching documentaries. Now sleep is more important than anything else.
My first beta (at 10 or 11 dpo) was 63, then jumped to 219 48 hours later...so I'm pretty sure they just want to see that number doubling! I'm sorry but I think that sucks for them to say that! I hope yours continues to move in the right direction and fx for a sticky bean

Yeah, I hoping you're right and I'm just off on the O date. I wasn't temping or doing OPKs..I'm solely basing it off EWCM which is not a lot to go on lol.

1) How far along are you? 4w something
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Pretty good.
3) When is your next appointment? Haven't even called my OB yet. Just got a BFP yesterday.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions: I had a m/c this past October at around 7 weeks. The pregnancy never felt right. I had pretty heavy bleeding early on, but rising HCG levels, but also no pregnancy symptoms. I had ultrasounds at 5 and 6 weeks where they saw a yolk sac. At 7 weeks there was still just an empty sac on the u/s.
This time around I have more symptoms that resemble my healthy pregnancy with DS. The thing that's concerning to me is that my first faint BFP wasn't until 14 or 15 dpo. All negatives before that. With my son I got a strong BFP at around 9dpo. I know every pregnancy is different but I can't stop myself from making comparisons!
Anyway, I'm not planning to get betas or early ultrasounds. I hated the whole experience last time -- missing work for so many doctor's appointments, three blood draws, three transvaginal ultrasounds (ugh), and they never had a definitive answer until 7 weeks anyway. I'm hoping to make my first appt for around 8 weeks, and as long as I'm not bleeding and still testing positive in the meantime, hope for the best.
5) GTKY: Hobbies? Running, barre, hiking, crosswords, following politics.
2. Feeling ok. Nervous. Last lost was a a cp on 1/9. This one feels different though so I'm cautiously optimistic. Cp felt off getting the get go. I got a rainbow baby 2 cycles after my last loss so I'm hoping this is my second rainbow.
3. I haven't scheduled one. Line was faint this morning that I'm going to wait until Monday to call. OB told me I'd be watched closely this time due to age and repeat loss history so I'm sure I'll have plenty of appointments coming up.
4. Nothing at the moment.
5. Hobbies include coaching soccer, sewing, crochet, building things. My last project was a 10.5' farmhouse table. I love it!

Had my first ultrasound this morning and so relieved to report everything looks good. I'm measuring a day ahead and the heart rate was 136. RE was very happy with everything, and for the sake of my own sanity, he kindly offered another ultrasound next week before releasing me back to my OB. I'll definitely take him up on that offer, ha! Now I just need to call my OB and get the 10-week appointment scheduled. I learned this week that my OB was just diagnosed with breast cancer so that has me of course concerned for her - I really love her. We'll see if she's still seeing patients (selfishly I hope she is) or I'll be with another in the practice.
