ugh when do we get to stop worrying and enjoy our pregnancy..... I had my 11 week scan last week and everything was perfect...moving into 12 weeks symptoms are disappearing (which I KNOW logically happens around this time but I'm not logical right now) and it has me so nervous for my NT scan in a couple days
I just want to relax and enjoy this pregnancy like everyone else around me seems to get to do instead of constantly worrying - ok my rant is over

I second that @harleyquinn0621!!! My nerves are shot today. I had a perfect scan last week. Now I'm a basket-case! Trying so hard to just have faith and know that God is protecting this baby.
@harleyquinn0621 that's what I was just telling someone yesterday, "when will I just get to enjoy this pregnancy?" I will say, I know there are mixed feelings on the board about them, but I bought an at home Doppler on Amazon. I couldn't pick up the heartbeat on Saturday (10w5d), but didn't stress because it was so early. But I WAS able to pick it up last night (11w0d). It took a while to find, but it was a wash of comfort when I did. A well-spent $56.
@jena333 i've considered the home dopplers but i don't know if i trust myself not to freak out if we cant find the heartbeat... if all is well at the NT scan in a couple of days i may go ahead and buy one and make DH lock it up until I am a bit further along and the heartbeat would be easier to find

I was a basket of nerves last night. I had alot of cramping which really freaked me out. But it's stopped now , and no bleeding. I'm just trying to take a bit and breathe. Our next appointment is on 3/8 for the NT scan. So we will get to see LO then.
I had a very firm talk with myself before I tried Saturday and Monday - that the baby is only about 1.5" and NOT finding the heartbeat at home is not surprising or alarming.
***TW*** Hi ladies, just popping in to give you an update on our confirmation appointment this morning. We confirmed the miscarriage. I'm leaning towards d doing the natural route this time due to my doctor's hesitation with repeat d&cs. This is going to be a rough waiting time.
Thanks for your support! I'll be hanging out at TTGP again. Hoping nothing but good news for the rest of you!

@icecubeinthedesert I'm so sorry. I'm sad to see you leave, but (as you know) those TTGP girls are incredible and will be a great support. Sending you my love.
@icecubeinthedesert hoping that the wait is t long so that the physical pain isn't prolonged...again, so sorry for your loss. Much love and many prayers that you hold your rainbow soon.
@Jena333 - Yessss, the characters are fantastic! They're so well developed. You hit the nail on the head. As for Gaiman, have you read the Sandman? I devoured that series in college. So much mythology and such awesome characters! Thanks for the authors and titles! Before this one, I was tearing through Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle. I got to the end of the second book only to discover that the third book has been in the works some 16 years and isn't out yet! The wait just might kill me. I can't even imagine being a fan 16 years ago and having to wait this long!
@mamasheridan - Welcome! There are more than a few of us who played the waiting game, and we completely understand your apprehension. But this is a great group of loving, supportive mamas, and I don't think you'll regret joining in.
@aVr - Your rant made me laugh out loud! Best wishes!!
@heatherwilson321 - Your new practice sounds amazing! And I'm right there with you - give me all the ultrasounds! That's one of the best parts of pregnancy: seeing what's happening in there and how LO is growing.
@LaceyC1020 - Please let us know how your ultrasound went today! You're doing the right thing being seen sooner than later, even if it's not by your normal doctor. I would do the same. By the way, I can't believe your doctor is so easygoing about the symptoms you're having! I also have a SCH and was told to go in if I experienced any pain, cramping, or bleeding. No color of blood was specified. So again, you're doing the right thing for you and your baby. I hope all goes well!
@icecubeinthedesert - I'm so so sorry. We let our 1st pass naturally at home, so if you need to talk to anyone, please feel free to PM me. Sending you loving, healing thoughts and praying that you get to hold your rainbow baby soon.
@icecubeinthedesert I am truly heartbroken for you. Please take care of yourself and give yourself time to heal. No one should ever have to go through this. Prayers that your sweet rainbow baby will come soon for you
Update....Went and had an ultrasound today. This facility is SO nice. Cozy ultrasound room with enough space for you to bring up to 8 people!! DH went with me and everything looks good! Heartbeat of 161! Our little turtle (that's what we're calling the baby) was sleeping at first but I guess moving the ultrasound piece around on my tummy woke him/her up! He/she did the cutest stretch and then started moving around. The ultrasound tech said the baby has long legs lol! I'm going back there in a couple weeks. I can see where that place could get addicting. They can even record the baby's heartbeat and put it in a stuffed animal!! Fyi...they said if you eat a big meal prior to the ultrasound the baby is more likely to be sleeping. If you drink something like a juice right before it, they're more active!
@ElleKH my OB said brown is old blood that's just finally working it's way out. My SCH shrank between ultrasounds and it's almost nearly undetectable. I'm taking the next couple days off work just to give my body time to rest. But no she didn't seem concerned and I do trust her. I may not really like the nurses that much, with a couple exceptions, but I love my OB. She was with me through my first 2 losses so we've got a good history/rapport.
@LaceyC1020 - That's such awesome news!! I'm so glad you went and I'm so glad to hear that you're happy with your OB. I was a little concerned. Good for you, mama!
@LaceyC1020 yay!! I have an appointment at a place like that next Friday... it's $45 to check on baby, listen to the heartbeat, and get some pictures. Definitely worth the peace of mind!!
@HollyGolightly09 Totally worth it!! I'm going back in 2 weeks! then 2 weeks after that I have an ultrasound at my OBs office. I'm a crazy lady... lol!!
@LaceyC1020 i'm so glad everything went well! such a relief to see the LO moving around. My ultrasound last week mine was sleeping too through most of it.. started moving a bunch towards the end after we had woken him/her up

Yep!! That's what I did too! Lol! Whatever! Soooo worth it! She tried doing a 4D, but said it's a little too early for that.
@laceyc1020 I probably shouldn't do that for the NT scan on Thursday since they want measurements .. a wiggling baby may make it hard for them.. crossing my fingers my LO is still thriving

Lol yeah maybe save it for another scan then!! I hope your scan goes well!!!
So it turns out I was right and I have a clotting disorder. To find out more info, I have to wait to actually get to talk to my old doctor and the post op appt. I brought this up at the beginning of this pregnancy and she dismissed it. It pisses me off that possibly something as simple as a baby aspirin and additional folic acid supplements could have prevented this loss. Now I'll never know and I can't wait to be away from this woman who should not even be an ob if she's not going to listen to her patients.

@rainafire77 That is absolutely infuriating! You should lodge a formal complaint with the hospital's board. Crap like that is just asking for a malpractice lawsuit.
@rainafire77 I am so sorry.. I can only imagine that just makes the whole situation worse for you. You did try, though, so please remember that! I would be very tempted to write a letter to that doctor telling her that if she intends to continue in her line of work, listening to her patients concerns should probably become a part of that.
@rainafire77 I am so angry for you, that is just not ok. My first loss could possibly have been prevented if my OB had been paying attention, and it made me feel guilty for several years. Definitely let your doctor know how you feel, and remember that this loss is not on you in any way. Hope you can find the right doctor to help treat your condition, and help you have a successful pregnancy- hopefully sooner rather than later!
@rainafire77 I'm so sorry. It's infuriating that doctors don't do the simple blood tests for these conditions until after losses have occurred! I'm "lucky" in that I had a blood clot after surgery in college so I knew going into it that I have a clotting disorder. Hugs to you!

Sorry I've been absent a few days y'all. I'm learning that the few days before an appointment are ROUGH for me! I absolutely dread the possibility of bad news at a scan. Anxiety attacks galore!
That being said, I had my NT scan today and everything looks perfect! Our baby was wiggly and waving and kicking and just beautiful Also, while it's not 100% until the blood tests come back, IT'S A GIRL!!!! I think God and my daughter pulled some strings knowing that my heart truly needs a girl. Welcome, Laurel Elizabeth!

@amandarene112 My MFM has amazingly clear ultrasound technology. She could see (or at least see the absence of something)! She said it's not 100% but she is confident.

@rainafire77 what clotting disorder did they find? I recently learned my first doc found MTHFR mutations in my workup, but didn't tell me. Brought it up to my doc today, and she basically dismissed it. I'm switching prenatals to ones with methyl folate instead of folic acid in case (and considering taking baby aspirin without doc's recommendations next time)

@icecubeinthedesert I won't find out more info until the actual appointment on March 1st. I got a call from the hospital surgical nurse who called to follow up to see if I had symptoms of pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis as the labs i had done the day of my d&c showed I had a clotting disorder. I guess my file got flagged when the results came in or something so they followed up. Don't know why my doctor hasn't bothered. You'd think she'd have the results by now.
Just an observation: ***TW*** I know it's not everyone but it seems so often that those of us with recurrent loss seem to have said losses with doctors who either don't test or are dismissive of our concerns. It also seems like those who had that experience & found new docs go on to a successful pregnancy. I know MC happen and that they are very common but I wonder if the commonality causes some doctors to become complacent and overlook conditions that, left untreated, can increase the chances of losing what should be a normal pregnancy?
Sorry...I'm angry and being morbid.
