We had breakfast together as a family (which we never do). Aside from that, nothing else planned related to Valentine's Day. I'm taking my daughter to the library and out for lunch with my dad.
I hate the idea of actually going out on Valentine's Day for a date or dinner because it is always so crowded. Plus, this pregnancy has me feeling like such a homebody lately.
I love Valentine's Day. Now, more than ever, I think celebrating love is important. I'm a dork and wore my heart leggings today. I also did heart hair for DD.
No plans really. Making DH his favorite meal for dinner, meatloaf, green beans and baked potatoes! When DH gets home we'll give DD her present from us and I plan to give him his gift then as well.
Happy Valentine's Day! I wore a coral colored dress, which is the closest to pink I have! H has class tonight so we won't be doing anything special, plus with hopefully closing on the house this month we are saving as much as we can! There will be heart shaped meatloaf tonight though!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
Fiance and I have never been big on Valentine's Day so we aren't getting eachother anything. We got DD a stuffed owl and chocolate roses. However, we have a mutual love of tacos... and since its Tuesday we're going to spend the night at home as a family and make tacos!!!
Happy Valentines Day! DD opened up her "gifts" -stuffed animal and candy. I am watching my siblings tonight so my parents can go out. DH sent me some chocolate. I may rent a movie.
We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, except for with DD. She opened her gift of kitten slippers, crayons, and a chocolate this morning. We will take her to her school for her Valentine's celebration and then possibly head to Disneyland.
We get small presents... cards/chocolate/flowers and this year the kids got a personalized stuffed animal. Other than that, nothing. We don't like going out due to the huge crowds.

I looooove Valentine's Day! I wished H a Happy Valentine before rushing out the door. I'm wearing a pink and red dress, ruby earrings my Dad got me as a kid (maybe on Valentine's Day?), and a candy heart bracelet :P. I painted my nails pink last night too.
From what H has said, he's gotten me some gifts. I have a card for him and ordered him a print that is supposed to be in today. I'd also like to get him Sprezza box, but he will see the charge. So I am thinking of just telling him tonight. We're picking up dinner from somewhere and hopefully watching a movie at home. He is on call, so hopefully he doesn't have a hellish day and get stuck working!
Today I am listening to Prince on Spotify. DH, DD, and I exchanged gifts this weekend. DH loved his Classic NES and was so shocked that I tracked one down for him. He booked me a prenatal massage with the promise that I should get a few more before this pregnancy is over. DD got the Trolls movie, some clothes, small toys, and chocolate. Tonight DD's daycare is having a "romantic" spaghetti dinner for the parents while they watch the kids and feed them pizza.
We originally had no plans for Valentine's Day, but now that my mother in law is stuck here due to weather, we have a built in babysitter so we are planning to go out to dinner. BUT I have my 3 hour glucose test in the morning, so I should probably watch what I eat tonight, sigh...
Tuesdays we have library story time, so older daughter brought little Valentine's cards to her friends, but most of them didn't come today! So she asked to bring them to the bakery (we very rarely go, but when we do she gets a cookie and gets to pick the color frosting she gets. It's all very exciting.) The lady who works there loves her already, and thought that the Valentine's were so sweet that she gave us an employee discount on our cookies! So, we're winning Valentine's Day over here! (I'll save husband a cookie . )
We usually just go to the auto show, which we did this past Sunday. It was great, we had a lot of fun and this year he took me to get Krispy Kreme donuts Then, we ordered tacos from our fav place and watched movies until we knocked out at 10 pm hahaa!
All of your valentine's days with your children are making me melt Very excited to do adorable holiday things with this baby
We are having a chill valentine's this year, we'd normally go out because I'd find a restaurant with the most delicious valentines fixed menu and we'd have a fancy night out. This year we'll stay in but I'm making a berry cheesecake galette and our favourite risotto. Instead of getting gifts for each other we decided to get a new print for our walls. We're thinking this one
We are supposed to be ordering in from our favorite area restaurant but I'm on call and it's looking like I might be stuck late. Either we will do another night or maybe the cases will go quicker than I think they will!
DH and I are ordering from our favorite pizza place tonight, and I'm on pelvic rest (hopefully for just 10 more days!)...so yeah, things are definitely going to get sexy up in our house.

I'm getting a pedicure this afternoon (gift to myself). I have no clue what we're doing tonight, though. I hope H planned something, even if it's just dinner and a movie at home. I was just too emotionally all over the place the past couple of days to collaborate on plans.
My husbands Grandpa passed away this morning. So we are all gathered, showering him and each other with love. By far, the hardest goodbye I've had thus far
Gave myself a present this morning and rescheduled my GD test . Now I'm working on a project that should have been completed weeks ago while eating a box of chocolates from DH. (Hence the reason I rescheduled the test.)
DD and I had a special breakfast together, cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk, and now we're waiting for DH to get up so we can exchange gifts. I cannot wait to see his reaction to the handprint gift DD and I made for him. Otherwise, we have some errands to run and I think it will be an overall quiet day, but we get to spend it as a family and that's the best gift in my eyes. Happy Valentine's Day! ♡
@SparkySunDevil I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's grandpa
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Where/how did you track down a Classic NES?! I want to get H one for his birthday next month, but I've started to give up hope...
@L1C4gal I signed up for alerts on Brickseek.com. Saturday was actually my first day trying to get one. I got an email Saturday morning listing all of the Target stock in Phoenix. It must be a truck day on Saturday for the Phoenix Targets because several locations showed that they had one in stock. None of my daily alert emails have showed any in stock for Target in the Phoenix area all week.
Now, for the true testament of my love: I had to drive 30 mins one way across town taking the side streets because the freeway was closed in that direction. Me, my toddler, and one other random Target shopper were first in line when the doors opened at 8am. Toddler and I ran through the store only to find out that that Target had 0 of them even though Brickseek had shown them as having 5 for several days and still does. Then we bought a few things and got stuck behind someone signing up for a Red card at the only open register. By then it was 8:30 and I realized that another Target 15 mins away (and sort of on the way home) showed one in stock. So we booked it over there only to get cut off in the parking lot by a young guy tearing his way around and running in the the store. Toddler and I again ran to the back to the electronics section. Bad driver guy was already circling the aisles looking for the NES, but there were none on the shelf. Instead, I tracked down an associate who looked at their inventory and realized that it said they had 1 in stock. He dug through a bunch of drawers and then checked the back room where he found it and gave it to me. On the way home, we encountered another freeway closure and got stuck behind a train. It was exhausting, but worth it to see DH so surprised.
Our neighbor had a coffee/play date this morning with some valentines crafts for the kids. My girls are dressed in their festive valentines clothes and DD1 is very excited about giving out her valentines to her friends at school! We got the girls the Trolls movie for Valentines Day so we will give them that tonight and I'll cook DH dinner. Plus we have our heart shaped cheesecake for dessert that the milkman brought!

Dressed DD and I in our Valentine LuLaRoe. Had a growth u/s so we got to see the little guy. I'm currently treating myself to some Taco Bell while DD is still asleep and will do some cross stitch until it's time to wake her up. We're driving this week to visit DH on the road so we'll probably wear our Val outfits again.
Thank you all. Sorry, guess I shouldn't have brought the discussion down. But, that's how I'm spending my Valentine's Day. We all spent the afternoon together, sharing stories. The next week will be difficult, but we will get through it.
Re: Valentine's Day Chatter
No plans per tradition. Tomorrow though I am totally hitting up Walgreens.
