@slaven Ugh, sorry for CD1 (but hiya cycle buddy!).
@JJMNO1616 Ugh - I hate when doctor's offices do that! Glad they managed to get you in a bit ear@LovesMM
@LoveInDC Another second on the cup! Even though they may not be for everyone, like you, I like to make sure that all women know that they are out there and can be amazing!
@BertieMeetsGertie Whenever we have to go somewhere and are told not to bring anything, we tend to bring wine or something. That way if they genuinely have everything needed, nothing will sit there and go to waste. Plus, it's nice to get a small gift like that, that you can set aside and enjoy later as well.

WAYDTGKU: waiting out AF at the moment
R/R: Rave - AF finally showed! After the crazy long (55 day) cycle, with a very late O day while DH was out of town, I just wanted it to be over so we could try again this one. Rant - I have the WORST cramps. Like, can't stand up straight cramps. And I have to go to a work social in the afternoon... at least there will be lots of wine!
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: I'm with the others - so long as they look respectable, wear what you want!
@JJMNO1616 yeah I had the same experience trying to get in with an ob/gyn when I first moved to this area. Unless you're KU or have some sort of emergent problem they blow you off. I was sneaky and had another doctor I'd seen for breast health call a referral for me, which got me in within a month. The thing that sucks is that I'm not sure I like this OB that I worked so hard to get in with, and I really don't want to start the process over...
@adirat that bug is damn contagious. If you're like me you have a million internet cheapie HPTs anyway (and the news in the grad post makes me feel less dumb for doing it.... not sure if you saw that).
@BertieMeetsGertie hey what about holy water? Who was it that first suggested that...? Also, I'd try to get an idea of what the host is planning to prepare so that you don't bring anything that's redundant
@lulu1180 yay +OPK and lots of spelunking!!! Also, I applaud your dirty talk if you were both able to keep a straight face LOL. My DH would probably straight up stop and be like "....huh?"
@jess0211 My DH is on FH Pro, but I can't speak to the efficacy yet because 1. I'm obviously not KU, and 2. he hasn't had his repeat SA yet. However, if you check out the website I think it lists the ingredients and why they're thought to work.
@wabash15 what kind of weird things is DS doing? I feel like that needs clarification lol
@BertieMeetsGertie someone (@jess0211I believe) asked what vitamins we recommend for DH. I found that chart, plus the dosages really helpful! Mine takes C, E, Zinc, Selenium, CoQ10, Maca, + multi, as well as Flax and Omegas 3-6-9. But I had to increase the vitamin E dosage based on the information on that chart, which I found interesting, and he does not take the carnitine/ acetyl carnitine I believe is also listed there.
@LuND@BertieMeetsGertie I was the one that talked about holy water lol! A coworker of mine told me how some crazy old lady at a funeral rubbed some on her and she got KU after trying for 2 years or something like that. I tried it once...spoiler: it didn't work lol.

@loveindc hope you get out of cycle purgatory soon! I really love that you included exit the stall and wash your hands. Not sure why but it made me giggle.
@jjmno1616 it's crazy how long the waits can be. Sometimes the doc you want will have a nurse practitioner who works with them to do the more routine stuff that is more available. My old Dr it would be a 6+ month wait to see her for anything non-emergent but I could usually see her NP within a week or two. If I had a "problem" I was able to see the Dr pretty easily.
@bertiemeetsgertie there was one of those Facebook recipe videos I saw the other day that was a beer cheese dip that was made in a hollowed out loaf of bread. The bread that was removed was toasted for dipping. It looked so yummy. I have no idea how to find threads video again tho. Last super bowl I went to I made brownies from the box and cut them out in football shape and put icing laces on them. Pretty easy and super cute. And then you get all the brownie scraps to eat at home . And then I scrolled down, omg that popcorn looks amazing!
@lulu1180 still lol-ing at the spelunking. I have a feeling you will be successful in your seductive efforts.
@heatherdubrow boo for having to pay but exciting that you get to get started on the FET. FX for you!
@jess0211 ice skating is one thing I have failed miserably at my entire life. Always looks fun for people who can though!
@wabash15 hope your DS starts feeling better and the IUI is a success. Thanks for the CS
@dragonfly87 thanks for the tip on the dotted CHs. Yay for ewcm! Enjoy your spelunking!
@dilynne gl with the interview today. Ignore the fam, you got this!
@cactusblossum - Haha it's because I'm a technical writer. I have to be thorough! I thought about adding entering the stall and pulling up/down your pants, but I thought that might be a bit much
@adirat I've never heard that before about the cups. Very interesting and good to know.
@lulu1180 I had to look up spelunking but that sounds like so much fun! Wish i lived somewhere I could do naturey things like that.
@BusinessWife Thanks for posting that chart! I was wondering the same thing as @jess0211 but I try to keep my newb questions to a minimum lol
@Dilynne Good luck at your interview! Hope you kick butt so you can be petty like I would be and rub it in your families face lol! I mean and also get a new job you want.
@LuND I was hoping to get in to see the Doctor in March but April is still ok. That will also give me almost 3 cycles off BC to get an idea for how my body is responding and ask any questions I may have right before TTC. Like you mentioned, I am a little worried though about not liking this doctor and then having to find someone else! I also hope this isn't an indication of how difficult it will be to get in once I am KU? Like isn't there specific timeframes you are supposed to get in and see the doctor after a BFP?
@cactusblossum That's how the family practice I used to go to was set up. I always saw the NP. This OB clinic I am trying to get into is a smaller private practice though and from what it looks like there are only 4 MDs that work there and that's it.
Thanks for all the kind words and support today, ladies. Here's the update -- my tubes are both clear!
I'm going to try to forget that this HSG was seriously one of the most painful things that has ever happened to me and focus on the positive! We are ready for a medicated cycle in March!
@adirat Yay for clear tubes!!!! I'm so happy everything came back good and that it was so painful for you but it's so nice to be able to move forward with a plan in place!

Chiming in to say that I also love the diva cup, though I'm getting sick of using it on a heavy flow day at work. I'm going to try Lola tampons to that end (available online/ are 100% cotton with no dyes or chemicals) next cycle. Thumbs down for toxins and bleach in vaginas.

@lund he has had two episodes where he suddenly gets pale and his fingers and lips turn purplish blue, but he's breathing fine and acting ok, then it goes away. Dr, is not sure what's going on but at least his pneumonia is resolved.

Just got a blazing positive OPK, time to start HIO!!! Gosh, I feel like adulting makes you excited about some very strange things.
I must say, anytime I need to pee on a stick for an OPK or HPT, it takes everything in me to hold it for a few hours (I have an overactive bladder). So today has felt like this when waiting to use the employee bathroom finally:
But it looks like I will O between CD 10-12....so earlier than usual (normally CD 13), but hopefully it's not too early for fertility reasons.
@LoveinDC I used to use the Soft Cups, the disposable ones, before my IUD. My flow isn't normally heavy. We TTC for 5 months then I went on BCP for 3 months because we thought we were going to TTA for a year. I had horrible side effects from it and so we just decided to TTC/NTNP. I had one period after stopping the pill but this is my first full cycle so probably more lining or something. idk. My CD1 is always the heaviest. Are there any benefits to using the cup if you get frequent yeast infections?
@Dilynne the flow seemed to have slowed. I didn't even get anything on my pad last night (my initial post was Friday night here in Korea)
During our date night I tried to talk to DH about adoption/what we'll do if I don't get KU on our own. I'm only on cycle 7 now so still have time before that dreaded 1 year mark but I think about it.
I'm going to preface this by saying that I fully support all you ladies going through medicated cycles and IUI/IVF and everything else. However I'm not sure if I'd want to go through that or adopt. Or both. Who knows. I'm not super religious or anything but part of me wonders if my "life path" is to adopt. DH just says that we still have time. He pulled the "just relax it'll happen" and I stopped listening. He did say he's not against adoption.
Also I'm super emotional CD2 right now and I love you all and how supportive you all are.
@BertieMeetsGertie dear god make this. It's always a hit. From Chrissy Teigens cookbook: Roasted Jalapeño and Chorizo Queso Dip Mill bet the recipe is on Pinterest somewhere, but I can type it for you if you're interested. It's super easy
WAYDTGKU: Sex, sex, sex. Counting days when I'm ovulating. I'm going to start OPK's this month, so we'll see how that goes.
R/R: Rant is that I'm completely overwhelmed by this dumb bathroom remodel that is, of course, taking double the time they said it would, which is what always happens, so I don't know why I'm annoyed.
Rave: it's gonna look so dope when it's finished
CS/Q:
GTKY: Do you think leggings are pants/can be worn in public as pants?
Abso-effing-lutely. I don't normally do it myself, but I am wholeheartedly on board.
@slaven - The connection between menstrual cups and yeast infections is still unclear. Some women claim that they cause yeast infections, but it's unproven. It's recommended that you don't use cups when you have an infection as it can degrade or attach to the cup and prevent healing or cause discomfort. If you find you have an infection while using the cup, you can attempt to boil the cup to clean, but your best bet is disposing it for a new cup. I'm not sure whether it will help you keep infections at bay. But logic says that clean silicone is less toxic than tampons and when used properly should not contribute to creating a yeast infection.
@jess0211@LoveInDC I guess I'll just have to do some research. I get frequent yeast infections and occasionally BV with it. I've never really looked into the cause but all my Dr. told me was that some women just get lots of yeast infections. I've heard of the Candida diet which I may look into. I think that lowers Candida, or maybe it increases it lol I have no clue yet. Off to Google land.
@slaven - I second @jess0211 in suggesting probiotics if you aren't on them already. If you suspect that tampons could be contributing, cups can remove that concern. As always, do your research and talk to your doctor to make sure anything you try is safe. Good luck!
R/R: Rant: Y'all. The rage I felt earlier today was not normal. Long story short, for about a week my supervisor has been really bad about answering my emails/IMs. She will either take a long time to answer me or not answer me at all. People get busy, I get it. But what I needed takes seconds to answer. OR seconds to tell me to have one of the other supervisors to handle my request. Like, I'm not trying to be annoying but I have training next week and if I don't get the support I need, the poor soul I'm supposed to be training isn't going to get the instruction he needs and is going to be clueless when taking his calls. I wasn't just annoyed. I. Was. Angry. Rave: One more month until my H heath insurance kicks in and we start saving some money.
CS/Q: I was expecting my period today. When I was on the BCP it showed up like clock work. I don't know if I have a cycle that's normally longer than 28 days (I didn't track my cycles for most of my adult life because I was a virgin until I was 23 and then I got on BC) or my body is just being weird because it's the first cycle off of BCP.
GTKY: Do you think leggings are pants/can be worn in public as pants? Live and let live I say. Even if I don't like the way something looks on someone doesn't mean they shouldn't wear it. People dress for themselves. Personally, I will wear leggings as pants as long as I have a long enough top.

Live and let live I say. Even if I don't like the way something looks on someone doesn't mean they shouldn't wear it. People dress for themselves. Personally, I will wear leggings as pants as long as I have a long enough top.
