@purplg8r I'm so sorry! I wouldn't think that they would push back something like that because regardless you have gone 6 months without a viable pregnancy. Please update us when you get any more information. Hugs friend!

@purplg8r oh I'm so sorry. Today is just not a good day around ttgp. Your doctor shouldn't delay anything - like @lulu1180 said, they continue to count this month as "unsuccessful". I hope you find some comfort with your appointment and it makes you feel like you have a plan for your next steps once you are ready.
@purplg8r I'm sorry to hear it. I hope you're doing ok. I completely agree with @heatherdubrow -- this is no reason for your appointment to be pushed back. Keep it and move forward.
Sorry it didn't go well @purplg8r. Let us know how tomorrow's appointment goes and what today's results are.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@purplg8r I'm sorry to hear that. I agree with everyone else to keep the appointment and don't let them try to push it back. Keep us updated; we are here for you.
I'm just catching up and wanted to add my support for all that you're going through @purplg8r. I'm so very sorry. What an awful time of limbo. Sorry the u/s did not bring good news.
@purplg8r Thinking of you today! Hoping for the best.

My numbers as of yesterday are 231. She considers it a chemical pregnancy. She didn't really have an explanation for the low temps the whole time except she said she knows that girls trying to TTC use that to track but they don't look at that for stats. My progesterone was a 1 but to get an accurate idea if that's my issue, I have to come back 7 days after I ovulate. No cysts. No ectopic pregnancy.
I mentioned wanting to start fertility testing so she's writing a script for a semen analysis. For those whose hubbies had it done, did you go with them?
And I'm having an AMH test right now. (I've never heard of this one. Anyone have any info on it? She said it was to check egg reserve I think but how do they know that from bloodwork? I should have asked). They also did a thyroid test today.
Then I'm going to do the 21 day progesterone test and the HSG. She said I can do the progesterone test first & look at results or do both. What do you guys think?
Oh but I can't do those until the period after this one so who knows when that will be. Grr. The chemical pregnancy pushed back testing!
I go back for another hcg test next week. I know everyone is different but for those that had a cp or miscarriage, how long did it take for your numbers to get back to 0?
I'm so sorry @purplg8r. I hate that this has happened. So many hugs. I'm glad that your doctor is willing to move forward with testing.
As for the SA, my DH had to submit his sample at the lab (because we live 75 miles from the lab), and I didn't go with him. Just make sure to tell him that he can't use lube.
Oh, I'm so sorry @purplg8r. I don't know exactly how long it took my numbers to get to 0 after my miscarriage, but I know *TMI and TW warning* for my first miscarriage I bled for 1 week and my overall cycle was 1 week longer than normal and with my 2nd one I bled for 2 weeks and my cycle was 2 weeks longer than normal. (Hey, let's hope I don't have a third to continue that pattern).

@purplg8r I'm so sorry that this happened. When my hubby went for his SA I was downstairs at the radiology department getting my HSG done. So while we technically went together, I didn't actually go with him to get it done.
I also had an AMH done but I don't have much info on that other than what you probably already know, which is that it basically tells you your ovarian reserve and essentially how "old" your ovaries are. The normal values vary depending on your age, so for example a lower value is considered normal for an older woman but can be abnormal in a younger woman.
Regarding the progesterone test and/or HSG, I did them in different cycles but if you wanted to have the process go more quickly it would be easier to get them done in the same cycle. The only thing I would say is that the HSG can be very expensive depending on your insurance and the progesterone test is significantly cheaper so if you were to find out that progesterone was abnormal and didn't have to do the HSG you might end up saving money in the long run.
Hope this helps, and again I'm so sorry for what you're going through.

@purplg8r I am so sorry that you are going through this. I have no answers for you regarding treating, but I hope they are able to give you some answers soon. Hugs.
@purplg8r I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I'm going to second what @shortstack930 said regarding the HSG and progesterone testing. I ran the estimated costs through my insurance and for me, the HSG is really expensive.
As for the SA, for most places it's up to you whether you go along. My H has done it both ways, at home taking the sample in and at the clinic. He was scarred by the clinic experience, lol, so if your H has to do it in clinic, I would do whatever he thinks will make him most comfortable. I did not go with my H, I think that might have made it worse for him, but he is easily embarrassed (like doesn't like purchasing condoms alone easily embarrassed).
I'm so sorry @purplg8r, I'm glad they're not making you delay your testing any more than need be as I know you didn't want that to happen. For my DH SA he produced at home and then I drove it in right away. Please take care of yourself and know that we are all here if you need to vent/cry/yell at the world.
@purplg8r all the hugs today. What an overwhelming time to also add in the testing and figuring it all out. I can only talk about the SA. My husband preferred to be alone for it and he did do it at the clinic. I know everyone will be so helpful here as far as those questions and our thoughts are with you that you get your answers soon

@purplg8r I am so sorry, but very glad they are doing so much testing for you and so quickly. I'm realizing how much I need to switch doctors. I hope you are doing okay. Did you take off work?

Thank you so much for all the advice & support. It really does mean so much. And I had never thought about checking the cost of the HSG test--I'm going to check that out
@purplg8r I'm so sorry. *TW* it took about 10 days for my numbers to go to 0 and I was a little further along at 6+3 (I started up in the 2000s). I hope that they at least drop quickly so you can move forward. Good luck with your testing and please let us know if there's anything you may need, even if you just want to vent and complain and cry. It's good to get it all out.
So sorry @purplg8r. I'm happy that they are trying to get your testing going though. I'm at the same stage as you with that, just starting everything. My DH has his SA scheduled for later this month and the plan right now is for me to go with him. I'm planning to get the hsg done as well. As others said it is expensive, in my area it's about $600 if your insurance doesn't cover it.
@purplg8r. I'm so sorry you're going through this right now. :/ for us, the HSG was very $$ OOP, paying the hospital etc, so I opted for an in-office SHG for a little over $500 total, which is not exactly the same test, but close enough for my purposes. My testing cycle was close to $1000. DHs SA was $150. Point being - definitely worth it to find out the cost of these things. I might have insisted we do things in a different order if I knew the oop prices of things up front. ❤ hang in there. :) I hope you start to get some answers soon... ((hugs))
