Ready for this one today. I left my cell phone at home, which is just the worst. Now I'm stuck at work without it all day AND for whatever reason my internet keeps going out every 5 minutes here. Which has never happened before, but would the day that I leave my phone at home. I would describe myself as irrationally angry about it.
Also my car was totally fine and out of nowhere started making a horrible noise last week. We ended up having to spend $700 to fix it over the weekend. Why now!
My puggle has the worst ear infection I've ever seen him have... and even the prescription that I got from the vet awhile back isn't clearing it up. Looks like I'll be spending most of my day trying to find a clinic that can get him in today for some stronger meds. Poor guy.
This f'ing immigration ban. I'm sorry, but what kind of a weird alternate reality are we in?!?! I keep thinking about my late husband, who spent 13 years in this county, had a wife, a job, a home, but never got around to getting his green card. If he had happened to be from Iran, was traveling out of the country on business (which he usually did several times a year, we would have been screwed.) I'm not sure if I can survive 4 years of this shit.
@merrylea Will you inform me about the immigration ban? I don't understand what is going on? I only see what is on FB, and really don't know WHAT a reliable news source is. I know that is sad, but I am trying to educate myself.
I got two cavities filled last week, and my teeth are still throbbing periodically. Went back to see if the dentist could do anything, and got some topical medication applied which will hopefully calm it down. I wish I could just take some Advil!!!
@EmeraldNC - There is so much misinformation on both sides! At the core of it, there was a freeze on entry into the US from immigrants (visa and greencard) and nonimmigrants (tourists) from 7 countries (Iraq, Syra, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen) from entering the US. It also suspends the US Refugee Admissions program for 120 days, and then indicates that once it is resumed, persecuted Christians will be given priority and we won't admit more than 50,000 refugees in 2017. The real issue is that people already that have been vetted and issued visas and greencards (US permanent residents) were being detained and not permitted entry. The green card order was rescinded last night I believe, but it still applies to visa holders. I usually like BBC and NPR for good sources of news that actually tell me what is going on.
@merrylea I totally get where you're coming from. Im sickened by this last executive order. I'm also worried about what's going to happen to the EPA, and that there will be a total denial of climate change. Not to mention what will happen to public education if DeVos is confirmed as Secretary of Education. It's going to be a very long 4 years.
My MBF is just how over it I am at work. I have been dealing with one difficult person for the last few weeks who keeps rejecting my changes. I have cried so much at my desk about how frustrating this is that I am just spent. Better yet, my boss has been way too busy to step in and help me deal with this individual, but has enough time to come complain about how stressful their job is.
@EmeraldNC I think a confirmation of DeVos might be the nail that pushes me to change careers. She is going to destroy education in this country (not that it's in a great state everywhere, but her ideas are not going to fix them, what she has pushed in Michigan has created horrible schooling situations for the lower income students in the state).
In addition to the immigration, EPA and DeVos mess, I'm more than a little concern with Trump doing away with the joint Chiefs of Staff and utilizing Steve Bannon on the security council. A known KKK supporter as the chief security advisor for the President. I don't know what in his credentials makes him qualified to advise Trump on security matters.
@MrsLa3 they gave me Surolan drops for his ear... it's an older script (not yet expired) but I keep it since he gets them relatively often when the weather changes. It just hasn't seemed to help. Not sure what a BNT treatment is exactly... I know they swab his ear every time and then give me the drops lol he has an appointment this evening at another vet that's closer to me. (His other one is almost an hour away.)
I'm right there with everyone in the Trump and DeVos catastrophes. I'm just heart sick over it all. I'm trying to follow it, but sometimes it's too much for me and gets me waaaaaay too worked up. I feel like I'm an ant down in a tinnnnnnny hole looking up going "how the F are we going to get out of here"...but there's also dirt being shoveled in. Get me OUT!
MBF: DS is still sick. Low grade fever, green runny nose and now moving into a nasty chest cough. Ped can't see him until tomorrow and urgent care yesterday was zero help. He usually bounces back so quick...this is just lingering...and lingering...Have to take a half day off of work tomorrow now. Ugh.
@awillis13 did the low grade fever ever go away? He's just so down and out ranging 99.6-101 all day long. This was him after breakfast and he's always on the go! Day four now...
This morning was the first he's actually run a low grade (99.7) temp. Up til now he's been right in the mid to high 98 range. Even without taking his temp I knew he was staying home today because he walked downstairs and immediately curled up under the blanket on the couch and went back to sleep.
He's napping now, but hasn't run a fever again since this morning. Hopefully we're at the end of it (which means I should be almost over it, because I've been fighting the same stupid cold almost as long as he has).
To my coworker who is ignorant and doesn't have children........Keep your thoughts about "how big" I am to your damn self. No one cares about you or likes you anyway.

My DS has become a huge bottle baby. He's 15 months now so I'm really trying to limit them especially since we got in the bad habit of giving them to him multiple times a night. So the last 3 nights I have stayed up with him and not given in. Finally yesterday morning after staying up with him rocking, soothing etc from 4 to 9 am and not giving into his fits for a bottle, I asked dh if he could get up and watch him for an hour so I could rest. When I wake up I look at dh and ds sitting on the couch with yup a bottle. WTF.
And also I am 100% behind everyone who is opposed to this under qualified woman who is potentially in charge of our education system. I usually don't get involved with politics but the dept of education is going to be in SEROUS trouble if she's confirmed. UGH!
Just go ahead and assume my MBF/Twatwaffle Tuesday will be Drumpf for the next four years, mmkay.

Complet FWP we are at Disney and I wanted to watch some HGTV or food network during nap time since we don't have cable at home, those two channels keep cutting out and saying no signal. Really irritating me st the moment.

In regards to refugees, we really don't know how good we have it in our countries. People are just so openly racist and discriminatory these days towards immigrants I just ... I don't get it. I read a status update from a woman who was in Tehran visiting her family and left early because the order was going to be put through. She made it to Dubai before they told her that she would have to exit the plane and wouldn't be permitted back into the U.S I think she was on a Visa. She has worked in the US for the past 7 or 8 years. She has a job, a houseand a DOG there! It broke my heart.
So now to my question. Do you all not feel like Donald Trump is acting more like a dictator with all his executive orders? I'm not exactly sure how your government works but it seems as if he's not even attempting to put anything through congress and is just using his veto power for literally everything.
@stokesm21 I don't understand why there is not more outrage for these Executive Orders. People were up in arms about how many Executive Orders Obama was issuing, and none were as controversial as what Trump is doing.

Trump is acting like a dictator. He's never had any government experience. What kills me too is that my husband was required to undergo a thorough background check to include a mental health assessment and a polygraph in order to work on military projects for his job. Why is no such requirement made of the commander in chief? I could go on and on!

This. I'm such a glutton, I'm not sure why I bother reading the comments. My eyes permanently remain in the back of my head.

BNT is a waxy steroid that goes down into the ear, the body temp will melt it down into the canals. We normally do a injectable steroid and antibiotics. No need for anything else, that's strange they would only do drops for an ear infection.

I work in an industry that relies heavily on environmental regulations and I'm terrified where this next four years will take us, not to mention these recent EOs focused on ineffective immigration bans. I went to law school (graduated in 2009) but didn't practice because my husband and I moved overseas to work for 3.5 years and when we came back, I had already started establishing my career with the company I'm still with. I told him the other night that I planned on updating my CLEs so that I can be considered "active" with the bar, and find some attorney who will shadow me, so I can start doing pro bono work with immigration attorneys who might need help with the ramp up of immigration cases.
