Give Me Your Thoughts and Suggestions

I'm still pretty early on in my pregnancy, but agreeing on a girls name may actually take us all 9 months, so I'm going to go ahead and get this ball rolling.

We tend to like older names that hit the sweet spot of not being too common or too weird- names everyone has heard of, but may not know someone/a child with that name. We also can't do any names that end in an -s sound because our last name begins with S, and they just run together too much.

If we have a son, we're 99% sold on William Tyler (mn is a family name). Girl names are more difficult, however. Our current list is:

Ramona 
Margot (possible full name Margaret)
Ingrid
Beatrix
Phoebe
Diana
Edith
Elizabeth nn Elle
Eliza
Nora (I know it's more popular, but we really like it)
Penelope (ditto on this one)

Ingrid hands down. It's just unexpected, spunky yet trendy. Eliza is #2 for me

My favorite is Eliza, if you want something different, or just Liza. I like Nora too, but think it's getting popular, although if you're fine with William, it seems like popularity isn't an issue.

Edith Diana immediately popped out to me as a first/middle name combination. I think it's beautiful!


Ramona- this was on our long list. I like it a lot. If you're a fan of the band Guster like my DH, it's an added bonus.
Margot (possible full name Margaret)- NMS
Ingrid- Hmm. I think I like it. I've never met an Ingrid, for what it's worth (if you're concerned about popularity)
Beatrix- I like it, but prefer Beatrice. 
Phoebe- NMS
Diana- Love! 
Edith- Also love.
Elizabeth nn Elle- A solid, classic choice, but I wouldn't choose it. It's also gotten very popular, at least in my area.
Eliza- Prefer over Elizabeth
Nora (I know it's more popular, but we really like it)- I like it, but if popularity is a concern, I wouldn't pick it.
Penelope (ditto on this one)- NMS

Elizabeth has SO MANY nn possibilities! My very best friend is Liza (Laura Elizabeth) and I've always thought that was a great name.

Ingrid and Eliza. Suggest- Eloise, Hazel, Eileen, Iris, Jane

To match stylistically with William, I'd go with Eliza, Margaret or Diana.

Immediately, I love Margaret, nn Margot. It has it all, classic like William but with a spunky, unexpected nn. Super cute! I know a lot of people have said Ingrid but I really don't think it's good with brother William. Diana or Penelope would be my 2nd choice. And definitely find a family name (like Tyler) for your dd's mn.
